Typhoon “Nakri” (Quiel) exits the Philippines, now heading toward Vietnam

Blog note. Jesus indicated that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency, size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’ that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period

… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11).

… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)

… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken; (Luke 21:26)

… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy 3:1)

Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like a woman having labor pains, growing in intensity, frequency, size, duration and scope.

Typhoon “Nakri” (Quiel) exits the Philippines, now heading toward Vietnam

Typhoon “Nakri,” known as “Quiel” in the Philippines is now exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The storm is accelerating further westward at 15 km/h (9 mph) towards Vietnam with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h (74 mph) near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h (93 mph), according to PAGASA.

Based on all available data, the eye of Nakri was located at 145 km (90 miles) North of Pagasa Island, Palawan, as of 10:00 LT.

The typhoon had triggered rains in parts of Luzon and Visayas in the past days causing floods, particularly in Cagayan.

The tail-end of a cold front will continue to bring light to moderate with occasional heavy rains tomorrow morning, November 10, over Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, and Aurora.

Residents of the said areas, particularly those living in areas considered to be highly or very highly vulnerable to floods and landslides, are advised to take safety and precautionary measures.

Officials also urged people to coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, as well as continue monitoring for updates especially the thunderstorm or rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings to be issued by PAGASA Regional Services Divisions.

Rough sea conditions are prevailing over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, making sea travel risky especially for small sea vessels.

According to PAGASA’s forecast, Nakri will be 290 km (180 miles) Northwest of Pagasa Island by tomorrow morning, November 10, at 12.5°N, 111.9°E.

In 48 hours, the storm is expected to be 55 km (34 miles) West Northwest of Pagasa Island at 13.3°N, 109.6°E.

By Tuesday morning, November 12, Nakri will be 795 km (494 miles) West Northwest of Pagasa Island at 14.6°N, 107.8°E.

According to Weather Philippines, Nakri is expected to make landfall over Eastern Vietnam, north of Nha Trang City by Monday morning, November 11. It will slightly weaken while turning West Northwestward about 1 114 km (692 miles) West Northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, at 95 km/h (59 mph)

Meanwhile, another weather system has been tracked over the Western Pacific Ocean. The system dubbed as Tropical Disturbance (LPA) 91W has been moving westward across Western Micronesia and could enter PAR by Monday, November 11.
