‘ISLAMIC VATICAN’ IN TIRANA TO PROMOTE TOLERANCE. AN ‘ISLAMIC VATICAN MICRO-STATE.’ LEADER SAYS ‘GOD FORBIDS NOTHING.’

Story by BOK ESSANEWS SEPTEMBER 24, 2024

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced plans to create a Muslim state in Tirana modelled after the Vatican. According to reports by the New York Times, this “Islamic Vatican” aims to promote religious tolerance and will be based on the Bektashi brotherhood, a Sufi community with a rich tradition.

Prime Minister Rama announced PLANS TO ESTABLISH A MUSLIM STATE MODELED AFTER THE VATICAN in the capital city of Tirana, reports the American daily “New York Times.” THIS IDEA PROMOTES RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE, A SIGNIFICANT STEP IN THE CULTURALLY AND RELIGIOUSLY DIVERSE Balkans region.

Rama stated that the state will be dedicated to the Bektashis, representatives of a Sufi brotherhood originating from Anatolia in Turkey. This brotherhood moved its headquarters to Albania at the beginning of the 20th century after their activities were banned by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern Turkish Republic.

Prime Minister Rama plans to create an independent State of the Bektashiyya Brotherhood in Tirana, which, if established, will be the smallest state in the world – its area will be just 0.04 square miles, which is one-fourth the size of the Vatican.

“Islamic Vatican” and liberal daily life principles

The “New York Times” states that the enclave will be liberal in daily life. Drinking alcohol will be allowed, and women will not be required to adhere to a specific dress code. The state does not plan to impose strict rules, reflecting the Bektashi philosophy, as reminded by the brotherhood leader, 65-year-old cleric Edmond Brahimaj, Baba Mondi.

GOD FORBIDS NOTHING, THAT’S WHY HE GAVE US INTELLECT – SAID BRAHIMAJ.

This cleric will lead the new state, with its administration, borders, and green-colored passports symbolizing Islam.

Although Baba Mondi expressed the need to create small intelligence services due to the “state having enemies,” no plans exist to establish an army, border guard, or courts. The enclave will include a prayer and meeting hall, a museum presenting the brotherhood’s history, a clinic, archives, and administrative offices.

Uncertain future of the “Islamic Vatican”

The entire project is currently being analyzed by a group of lawyers who are drafting laws determining the sovereignty of this unusual political entity. Final decisions in this matter will, however, rest with the Albanian parliament, which is under the control of the ruling Socialist Party of Albania.

Despite advanced work on the plan, Prime Minister Rama noted that the project remains in its preliminary phase and no formal consultations with NATO members, to which Albania belongs, have yet taken place. It is also unclear whether other countries will recognize the independence of this small state.

This bold plan by the Albanian Prime Minister, a non-practicing Catholic, could stir many international and domestic controversies. Nevertheless, its realization could bring significant changes in the context of religious tolerance and diversity in the region.

THE DICTATOR POPE – TOM HORN

INTERVIEW WITH HENRY SIRE, AUTHOR OF ‘THE DICTATOR POPE’

Genesis 28:9 (the Israel bible) September 10, 2024

Pope Francis embarked on a 12-day tour of four nations in Southeast Asia and Oceania, beginning his tour with a visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world. In Jakarta, the pope met with Indonesia’s grand imam, Nasaruddin Umar, at the entrance to the “Tunnel of Friendship” which connects Istiqlal Mosque to the nearby Catholic Cathedral, Our Lady of the Assumption. Present were representatives of the six religions that are officially recognized in Indonesia: Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Catholicism and Protestantism.

The Catholic Pope and the Muslim Imam pledged to work together to fight religiously inspired violence and protect the planet. They issued a joint call for interfaith friendship and common cause at the heart of Francis’ visit to Indonesia. Pope Francis received a kiss on the head from the Imam while kissing his hand in response.

The Indonesian government claims the tunnel is a tangible sign of its commitment to religious freedom, which is enshrined in the constitution. Nonetheless, Indonesian society has been challenged by repeated instances of discrimination and violence against religious minorities. Catholics make up around 3% of Indonesia’s population, whereas 87% of the population is Muslim.

In 2021, two Muslim terrorist suicide bombers attacked Sacred Heart Cathedral in Makassar on Indonesia’s Sulawesi island during a Palm Sunday Mass, wounding 20 people.

The pope commented that the tunnel symbolized that different religious traditions “have a role to play in helping everyone pass through the tunnels of life with our eyes turned towards the light.”

He encouraged Indonesians of every religious tradition to “walk in search of God and contribute to building open societies, founded on reciprocal respect and mutual love, capable of protecting against rigidity, fundamentalism, and extremism, which are always dangerous and never justifiable.”

“I encourage you to continue along this path so that all of us, all of us together, each cultivating his or her own spirituality and practicing his or her religion, may walk in search of God and contribute to building open societies …”

Pope Francis expanded his agenda of solidifying a relationship between the Catholic Church and Islam by initiating The Istiqlal Declaration signed by Francis and Umar at a formal ceremony in the tent on the Istiqlal Mosque compound. The other religious representatives at the encounter didn’t co-sign it but were listed by organizers as having “accompanied” it.

During a 2019 visit to the Gulf, Francis and the imam of Al-Azhar, the 1,000-year-old seat of Sunni learning, launched a “Human Fraternity” movement calling for greater Christian-Muslim efforts to promote peace worldwide. More recently, Francis traveled to Najaf, Iraq, in 2021 to visit the top Shiite cleric, who delivered a message of peaceful coexistence.

Since ascending to the papacy in 2013, Pope Francis has worked openly to unite Esau and Ishmael by enhancing Christian-Muslim relations. This alliance implicitly threatens Israel, the spiritual descendant of their mutual Biblical nemesis. In 2019, Francis and Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, signed a statement about Jerusalem, referring to Israel’s capital as Al-Quds Acharif, the Arabic name for Jerusalem, minimizing the distinctive relationship between Jerusalem and the Jewish people. The agreement called for Jerusalem to become “the common patrimony of humanity and especially for the followers of the three monotheistic religions, as a place of encounter and as a symbol of peaceful coexistence, where mutual respect and dialogue can be cultivated.”

According to Rabbi Yechiel Weitzman author of The Ishmaelite Exile, this alliance of Christians and Muslims was predicted hundreds of years ago and is a sign of the End Times. According to Rabbi Weitzman, “The last stage in the process of Israel’s perfection will be characterized by the alliance between Ishmael and Esav (Esau), an alliance aimed at tormenting the entire world and the Jewish people in particular.”

The ancient Biblical connection between Esau and Ishmael is stated plainly in Genesis. Ishamael became Esau’s father-in-law when Esau married Ishmael’s daughter.

Rabbi Weitzman concluded, “At the very outset of history, Ishmael and Esav forged a bond through marriage. And SO IT SHALL BE AT THE END OF DAYS. THE ALLIANCE BETWEEN THEM WILL BRING HISTORY TO ITS CULMINATION IN THE REDEMPTION.”

JUST IN! THE POPE’S EXPLOSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT! YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT HE SAID!

POPE FRANCIS: ALL RELIGIONS ARE A PATHWAY TO GOD…EXCEPT JUDAISM

Pope Francis visited Singapore for three days on a 12-day tour of four Southeast Asia and Oceania nations. The pontiff praised Singapore’s multi-faith nature at an interreligious meeting at a Catholic junior college, saying that “all religions are a path to God.”

“They are like different languages in order to arrive at God, but God is God for all,” the pope said in an extemporaneous speech. “Since God is God for all, then we are all children of God.”

“If you start to fight, ‘my religion is more important than yours, mine is true, and yours isn’t’, where will that lead us?” he asked aloud. “There’s only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sheik [Sikh], Muslim, Hindu, Christian, and they are different paths [to God].”

The pope’s choice of religions does not reflect the religions in Singapore, the most prominent of which is Buddhism, with a plurality of 31.1% of the population declaring themselves as adherents. People with no religious affiliation (atheist, agnostic or other irreligious life stances) form the second largest group at 20% of the population. Christianity comes in at 18.9%, followed by Islam at 15.6%, Taoism at 8%, and Hinduism at 5%. Sikhs are a minority ethnic community in Singapore, making up 7,000– 12,000 out of Singapore’s four million total population.

While the pope specified that Sikhs, a decided minority, have a “language to arrive at God”, he did not mention Judaism. There are estimated to be 10,500 Jews living in Singapore, approximately equal to (or surpassing) the number of Sikhs.

Pope Francis began his tour with a visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world. In Jakarta, the pope met with Indonesia’s grand imam, Nasaruddin Umar, along with representatives of the six officially recognized religions in Indonesia: Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Catholicism, and Protestantism.

Some Catholics criticized Pope Francis for expressing religious pluralism in contravention of classical Christian theology, which professes that the only path to God is through belief in Jesus. The Catholic Church teaches that the “goodness and truth” found in non-Christian religions can be seen as a “preparation for the Gospel.” Catholic Culture described comments on religions being different paths to one God as “an argument that seemed clearly in conflict with the constant teaching of the Catholic Church.” American Bishop Joseph Strickland, who was removed as the Bishop of Tyler under Pope Francis, urged fellow Catholics to “pray for Pope Francis to clearly state that Jesus is the only Way.”

David Nekrutman is a theologian, author, Jewish advisor to The Chosen, and Executive Director of The Isaiah Projects. He prefaced his comments by noting that “Pope Francis is not really accepted within the conservative side of the Catholic Church.”

“Pope Francis is the first non-European head of the Catholic Church in over 1,200 years,” Nekrutman emphasized. “He is not a theologian like Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict. Francis’s understanding of Judaism is the cultural Judasims of Argentina, usually divorced from Zionism. He understands the Jews in the diaspora. He doesn’t understand the Jew in the context of the fullest expression of what it means to be a Jew as a nation, stewarding the Land of Israel under the sovereignty of God.”

Nekrutman noted that Pope Francis has worked to enhance Christian-Muslim relations. In 2019, Francis and Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, signed a statement about Jerusalem, referring to Israel’s capital as Al-Quds Acharif, the Arabic name for Jerusalem. This minimizes the distinctive relationship between Jerusalem and the Jewish people.

“Francis sees Judaism through the lens of Liberation Theology,” Nekrutman said. Liberation Theology defines Christianity as a human rights movement focused on improving the lot of the oppressed. This is expressed through Pope Francis emphasizing issues of social justice such as war, migration, and climate change.

“Most previous popes and mainstream Christians see Jews through the lens of Covenant Theology, which has the roots of Christianity in Judaism and the covenant between God and the Jews focused on the Land of Israel.”

This was clearly expressed in 2021 when Francis became the first pope to visit Iraq. While there, he hosted an inter-religious prayer service at a ziggurat. The structure is an ancient Mesopotamian site built in the 21st century BCE built on the purported site of the city of Ur, the birthplace of Biblical Abraham. The prayer event was named “Prayer for the sons and daughters of Abraham.”

The event was attended by Christians, Muslims, Mandaean-Sabaean, Yazidi, and other religious minorities present in Iraq.

But no Jews were invited to attend.

Nekrtuman explained that the Catholic Church and Judaism have a long and complex history of cooperation and conflict and have had a strained relationship throughout history, with periods of persecution, violence, and discrimination directed towards Jews by Christians, particularly during the Middle Ages, based on theological conflict. Anti-Jewish sentiment reached its zenith with the murderous racial antisemitism of the Nazi Holocaust.

This changed on October 28, 1965, when, under Pope Paul VI, the Vatican signed the Nostra Aetate, Latin for “in our time.” The document dealt with issues that were problematic between Jews and the Church and also those that prevented open and friendly relations between Catholicism and other religions, including Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims. To some extent, the Nostra Aetate absolved the Jews of guilt for the killing of Jesus, referred to as Jewish deicide.

“Not all of the Catholic Church internalized the changes instituted by the Nostra Ataete,” Nekrutman said. “Most notably, the Catholic Church of Latin America and the Middle East don’t necessarily subscribe to the tenets of the Nostra Ataete. THEY DO NOT SEE JEWS IN THE COVENANT AND AS STEWARDING THE LAND.”

POPE FRANCIS ALLOWS DEVOTION TO MEDJUGORJE. SEIMIRAMUS WORSHIP OF MARY

Story by KUB ANSA SEPTEMBER 20, 2024

(ANSA) – ROME, SEP 19 – The Vatican on Thursday approved the spiritual devotion centred in Medjugorie, Bosnia, over its “positive fruit” for Catholics. The green light to the cult of a pilgrimage site where the Virgin Mary is alleged to have appeared came from the Vatican’s doctrinal office with Pope Francis’ approval. The pontiff approved the document recognizing “the goodness of the spiritual fruits linked to Medjugorje, authorizing the faithful to adhere to it” since “many positive fruits have been noted in the midst of a spiritual experience, while negative and dangerous effects have not spread among the People of God”, said the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

While noting that the overall judgment of the messages is positive, the document however said this did not imply that it was declaring as authentic the alleged supernatural events, but rather stating that the spiritual phenomenon was beneficial to pilgrims. And while not expressing judgement on the morals of those who have claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary at the site since 1981, the Dicastery urged pilgrims who visit Medjugorje “to be strongly advised that pilgrimages are not made to meet with alleged visionaries but to have an encounter with Mary, the Queen of Peace.” (ANSA).

“ALL RELIGIONS GIFT OF GOD” SATAN ENTHRONED AT THE VATICAN (POPE FRANCIS SINGAPORE)

NO ONE LEFT BEHIND: G20 INTERRELIGIOUS FORUM (IF20) PRESENTS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR WORLD LEADERS

After holding international events and meetings throughout the year, IF20 approves proposals based on the priorities of Brasil’s G20 Presidency and recommends that South Africa, the next country to chair the Forum, maintain the G20 Social as a space for the participation of civil society and social movements.

09/15/2024 7:00 AM – G20.OREG, SEPTEMBER 12, 2024

LEADERS OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS MET TO DISCUSS AND PRESENT PROPOSALS TO THE LEADERS OF THE G20 MEMBER COUNTRIES, inspired by the priorities of the Brazilian presidency of the Forum

With more than 400 participants from approximately 60 countries, the Summit of the G20 Interreligious Forum (IF20) was held in Brasília at the end of August, in support of the Social G20, with the purpose of dialoguing and contributing to the promotion of the three priority areas defined by the Brazilian government for the G20. The event crowned a series of activities developed since the beginning of Brasil’s G20 mandate, held in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belém (PA), Manaus (AM), Geneva (Switzerland), and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

According to the IF20 coordinator in Brasil, Rodrigo Vitorino Souza Alves, “the Forum seeks to provide a platform for participants from different sectors, places, and backgrounds to reflect on and dialogically build solutions to contemporary issues related to the three priority areas of the G20 in Brasil”.

Looking ahead, THE FORUM ANNOUNCED FIVE MAIN RECOMMENDATIONS THAT WILL FORM THE BASIS OF ITS ENGAGEMENT WITH THE G20:

1. Contribute to the initiative of the Brazilian Presidency to end hunger, fostering the profound conviction and the worldwide action forces of religious communities.

2. Advocate for policy changes on debt, taxes, and climate funding to enable governments to tackle poverty and address inequality, focusing on the Jubilee year 2025.

3. Address the climate crisis by incorporating indigenous perceptions, challenges, and knowledge from Amazonian countries into the global debate.

4. Promote peacebuilding through intercultural religious literacy, ethical education, social cohesion, and education, presenting successful model programs.

5. Tackling modern slavery and human trafficking through a new official G20 working group that recommends priorities, allocates resources, and drives action.

In the coming months, preparations will be intensified for the IF20’s participation in the G20 in South Africa, with part of its agenda being the recommendation to implement the G20 Social in South Africa as well, with the same openness and sensitivity employed by the Brazilian government towards the voices of the religious and interreligious field.

Among those attending the IF20 Summit was Mary Robinson, President of The Elders, and the first woman to serve as President of Ireland (1990-1997). She emphasized the critical role of interreligious cooperation in tackling environmental challenges: “Imagine the change we can create if we all unite our voices.” She added: “We are on the verge of a safer, fairer, cleaner, and healthier world. According to science, we are moving towards it, but not fast enough. Our leaders must accelerate the transition away from extractive industries and fulfill their promises to achieve the global goals on climate and nature.”

Several authorities and ministers of State participated in the various events and discussions organized by IF20, including Brasil’s Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, and the former Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida, as well as Flávio Pazeto and Felipe Hees, both from the G20 team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brasil, and Gustavo Westmann, Social Coordinator of the G20 and Head of the Special Advisory Office for International Affairs of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, among other representatives of government agencies.

IF20 will continue to develop its activities according to the priority areas proposed by the Brazilian government during its presidency of the G20, which include a series of webinars and, eventually, an in-person event in Rio de Janeiro in November. The goal is to contribute to the important dialogue proposed by the G20 Social and to disseminate the ideas and recommendations currently being developed.

About the G20 Interreligious Forum (IF20)

The G20 Interreligious Forum (IF20) has brought together diverse actors inspired by the G20 agendas since 2014. Through the organization of meetings in different regions of the world, dialogue, studies, and analysis, the Forum seeks to contribute to the G20 process, bringing the knowledge, experience, and voice of diverse religious communities alongside other groups with global presence.

The central focus of IF20, especially during Brasil’s G20 Presidency, is the urgent call to action to help the world’s most vulnerable communities. These communities face challenges such as poverty, inequality, discrimination, armed conflict, forced migration and displacement, the lasting effects of the COVID-19 global emergencies, and the problems associated with climate change. The aim is to promote opportunities for effective action towards fair and realistic hope and practice for a better future, seeking to tackle the urgent challenges of our times.

POPE FRANCIS TO RELIGIOUS LEADERS: “THERE CAN BE NO MIXING OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND VIOLENCE”

ALL FAITHS LEAD TO GOD: NEW CONTROVERSY AS POPE PREACHES RELIGIOUS PLURALISM ON FINAL DAY OF TOUR

SINGAPORE – Pope Francis on Friday wrapped up a three-day visit to Singapore by declaring that “all religions are a path to God”.

“They are like different languages in order to arrive at God, but God is God for all,” the Pope said, who had set aside his prepared text and spoke largely off the cuff. “Since God is God for all, then we are all children of God.”

The Pontiff made his remarks during a interreligious meeting with young people held at a Catholic junior college, just prior to departing Singapore for his return flight to Rome.

Such rhetoric has stirred controversy in the path among Catholics who fear that it calls into question Catholic doctrine on Christ as the only Saviour of the world and also undercuts missionary efforts to bring people to the faith.

When Francis used similar language at an interfaith meeting during a 2022 trip to Kazakhstan, Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Astana warned that it risked creating a “supermarket of religions”.

Judging by his remarks on Friday, however, the pontiff has not been deterred by such criticisms.

“If you start to fight, ‘my religion is more important than yours, mine is true and yours isn’t’, where will that lead us?” he asked aloud. “There’s only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sheik, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, and they are different paths [to God].”

Catholics in Singapore make up about 3.5 per cent of the population of just under six million. Overall, Christians of all types represent about 19 per cent of the population, Buddhists 31 per cent and Muslims 15 per cent, with significant Hindu and Sikh minorities as well.

The pontiff exhorted young people to engage in interfaith dialogue.

“For interreligious dialogue among young people, it takes courage, because youth is the time of courage in our lives,” he said.

“You can also have this courage and use it for things that don’t help you, or you can use it to move forward and engage in dialogue. One thing that helps a lot is to respect dialogue.”

“I want to tell you something historical: every dictatorship in history, the first thing they do is take away dialogue,” Pope Francis told the gathering of roughly 600 young people from 50 schools and religious organisations in Singapore.

Francis invited the youth “to do everything possible to maintain a courageous attitude and promote an environment in which young people can enter into dialogue, because interreligious dialogue is something that creates a path.”

“If you dialogue as young people, you will dialogue more as adults, as citizens, as politicians,” he said.

“Interreligious dialogue is built on respect for others. This is very important,” he said.

On other fronts, Pope Francis touched on two other familiar themes in his sessions with youth: the proper use of technology, and the dangers of bullying, especially with regard to young people with disabilities.

“Technology is something that we have to use, but we have to be attentive to the risks that come with it,” noting that was actually the theme of his prepared speech.

On the one hand, the Pope said young people need to be adept in a multimedia world.

“A young person who doesn’t follow the media, what are they like? Closed, closed in on themselves,” he said.

On the other, he also warned that youth should not become “enslaved” to technology.

“A person who lives totally enslaved to media, how are they?” he asked. “A young person who is scattered, lost. All young people must use media, but use media because they help us to go forward, but not become slaves of it.”

With regard to bullying, the Pope called it “something terrible.”

The pontiff noted that bullying often is directed at youth perceived as weaker, such as someone who is disabled. He pointed to the fact that during the interreligious meeting, there had been a dance performed by four young people with Down syndrome.

“Everyone has some disability, even the Pope,” Francis said. “Just as we have our own disabilities, we have to respect the disabilities of others.”

Francis included a characteristic appeal to youth to take chances.

“Young people must have the courage to build, to go forward, to leave their comfort zones,” he said. “A young person who chooses to be comfortable in their lives gets fat. But the stomach doesn’t get fat, the mind does!”

“This is why I say take risks, go out!” he told the youth. “Don’t be afraid. Fear is a dictatorial attitude, and it paralyses you.”

Prior to his departure Friday morning, Francis also held a private meeting with the bishops, priests and religious of Singapore, which was attended by the president of the Episcopal Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

In his brief address, the Pope spoke of the traits he believes are important for pastors, saying they must be “in the midst of the people, united with God, brothers among you and united with the bishop.”

He also reminded nuns to not forget “to express the motherhood of the Church,” and urged everyone to keep smiling.

ONE WORLD RELIGION: WORD FROM ABBA FATHER (2nd May)

ARCHBISHOP CHARLES CHAPUT: NO, POPE FRANCIS, NOT ALL RELIGIONS ARE ‘PATHS TO GOD’

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. 17 Sep 2024 BREITBART

ROME — The redoubtable Archbishop Charles Chaput has offered fraternal correction to Pope Francis, urging him to hold to the basic tenets of Christianity.

The former archbishop of Philadelphia was responding to the pontiff’s off-the-cuff remarks to youth in Singapore on Friday, in which the pope told his listeners that all religions are paths to God, seeming to suggest that none is superior to the others.

If people start fighting over whose religion is more important “or saying, ‘Mine is the true religion; yours isn’t true,’ where does that lead? Where?” the pope asked.

“All religions are a path to reach God,” he stated. “They are, to use a comparison, like different languages, different dialects to get there.”

“Some Sikh, some Muslim, some Hindu, some Christian, but they are different paths. Understood?” he said.

In response, Chaput wrote that such loose comments “can only confuse.”

“Christians hold that Jesus alone is the path to God,” he said. “To suggest, imply, or allow others to infer otherwise is a failure to love.”

“We are called Christians because we believe Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Trinity,” he stated. “From the beginning of our faith, followers of Christ were unique among world religions because they accepted as true Christ’s extraordinary claim that he is God.”

“Christians have also always believed that this reality makes Christianity categorically distinct from all other religions, and in turn requires a total commitment of our lives,” he added.

The archbishop also reminded the pope of his responsibility to teach the faith clearly.

The pope “is the spiritual and institutional head of the Catholic Church worldwide,” Chaput wrote. “This means, among other things, that he has the duty to teach the faith clearly and preach it evangelically.”

“Simply put: Not all religions seek the same God, and some religions are both wrong and potentially dangerous, materially and spiritually,” he wrote.

Chaput’s words echoed those of Joseph Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI, who also warned about treating all religions as equals.

Before becoming pope, Ratzinger wrote on the differences between religions, noting that “anyone who sees in the religions of the world only reprehensible superstition is wrong,” but, also, “anyone who wants only to give a positive evaluation of all religions… is equally wrong.”

In his own critical considerations of religions, Ratzinger wrote with brutal honesty, observing that there are “deviant, esoteric forms of religion on offer” as well as “pathological” forms of religion. He wrote of religions that are “obviously sick” and religions that are “destructive for man.”

He asserted, moreover, that with the detachment of religion from reason, “pathological forms of religion are constantly increasing.”

Pope Francis wrapped up his ambitious 12-day Southeast Asia tour on Friday by praising Singapore’s tradition of interfaith harmony and with the same message of tolerance that he delivered at the start.

He visited the country with the world’s largest Muslim population – Indonesia, with about 242 million – and the country with the highest percentage of Catholics outside the Vatican itself – East Timor, with some 98 per cent.

Francis, 87, presided over a gathering of young people from some of the religious traditions that are present in Singapore, where mosques, Buddhist temples and Christian churches. He expressed concern for the country’s rapidly aging population, and its migrant workforce, but louded Singapore’s efforts to confront climate change, calling them a model for other countries.

He ditched his speech and urged the youths to take risks, even if it meant making mistakes. However, he came back to the topic at hand to make his main point about the need for people of different faiths to engage in constructive dialogue rather than insist on the righteousness of their particular beliefs.

“All religions are a path to arrive at God,” he said. “They are like different languages to arrive there. But God is God for all.” Francis was in Singapore to encourage its Catholics, who make up about 3.5 per cent of the population of just under 6 million, while highlighting Singapore’s tradition of interfaith coexistence. According to a 2020 census, Buddhists make up about 31 per cent of the population, Christians 19 per cent and Muslims 15 per cent, while about a fifth of the population claimed no religious belief whatsoever.

History’s first Latin American pope offered an overwhelmingly positive message in one of the world’s wealthiest countries, praising Singapore’s economic development and making only one public appeal: that it treat its immigrant workers with dignity and a fair wage.

Francis’s journey took him to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and East Timor before Singapore. This was the longest he trip had been on since becoming head of the Catholic Church in 2013.

In Indonesia, he urged the country to live up to its promise of “harmony in diversity” and fight religious intolerance in a visit that included meetings with outgoing president Joko Widodo and president-elect Prabowo Subianto. He greeted Catholic priests, nuns and seminarians at Jakarta’s main cathedral.

After a meeting with the grand imam of Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque, the two issued a joint call to fight religiously inspired violence and protect the environment.

The Pope traveled to the remote city of Vanimo in Papua New Guinea, where he brought about a tonne of medicine, clothing, musical instruments and toys to donate. He was greeted by some 20,000 people singing and dancing on the field in front of the Vanimo cathedral, where he donned a feathered headdress presented to him.

Overwhelmingly Catholic East Timor greeted Francis with huge crowds, with people jamming his motorcade route from the airport into town cheering as he smiled broadly and waved from his open-backed pickup truck. Nearly half the country showed up for him to celebrate Mass.

The 32,814km by air clocked for the trip make it the longest and farthest of his pontificate, and one of the longest-ever papal voyages in terms of days on the road and distances traveled.

Would we be a better society if all the money in the world was distributed equally to all 7.7 billion people on the planet? POPE FRANCIS WARNS THAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS TOO ‘WESTERN’. WANTS MORE ‘MIDDLE EASTERN’ APPEARANCE

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. 19 Sep 2024 BREITBART

ROME — The Church is much more “alive” outside of the Western world, and pastors need to become less “Eurocentric” in their vision of Christianity, Pope Francis said Wednesday.

Reflecting upon his recently completed apostolic visit to Asia and Oceania, the pope expressed his concern that “in thinking of the Church, we are still too Eurocentric, or as they say, ‘Western.’”

In reality, “the Church is much bigger, much bigger than Rome and Europe, much bigger!” he said, addressing the crowds gathered in Saint Peter’s Square for his weekly general audience.

And the Church is also “much more alive in those countries,” he said, contrasting the state of Christianity in Asia with that of the West.

“I experienced this in an exciting way by meeting those communities, listening to the testimonies of priests, religious sisters, laypeople, and especially catechists – catechists are those who drive evangelization,” he said.

As an example, the pontiff cited that case of Indonesia, where only “about ten percent of people are Christians, and three percent Catholics – a minority.”

What I encountered, he continued, “was a lively, dynamic Church, capable of living and transmitting the Gospel in a country which has a very noble culture, inclined to harmonize diversity, and at the same time has the largest Muslim presence in the world.”

The pope also spoke of Papua New Guinea in similar glowing fashion, as an antidote to what he sees as the stagnation of the West.

In the young people of Papua New Guinea, “I saw a new future, without tribal violence, without dependency, without ideological and economic colonialism; a future of fraternity and care for the wondrous natural environment,” he related.

An Argentinean, the pope has often expressed his disappointment in Europe and the United States, lamenting that they lack vigor and hope for the future.

He has suggested that Europe is repeating the errors of pre-Nazi Germany by allowing new anti-immigration nationalisms to take hold.

“Because ideologies sectarianize, ideologies deconstruct the homeland; they do not build,” Francis said. “Learn that from history” to avoid “repeating the similar path.”

Rather than a mother, Europe seems more like a sterile grandmother who no longer bears children, the pope has proposed.

Europe is often perceived as “elderly and haggard,” like a “grandmother, no longer fertile and vibrant,” Francis said in 2014. As a result, the rest of the world looks upon it “with aloofness, mistrust and even, at times, suspicion,” he said.

“Europe has not yet died,” he said. “It is half grandmother, but can go back to being a mother.”

The pope has offered a similar critique of Christians in the United States, especially lamenting the “backwardism” of conservative Catholics in the United States.

“The situation is not easy in the United States where there is a very strong reactionary attitude,” the pontiff said in 2023. “It is organized and shapes the way people belong, even emotionally.”

“I would like to remind those people that ‘backwardism’ is useless and we need to understand that there is an appropriate evolution in the understanding of matters of faith and morals,” he said.

Those American groups “are isolating themselves,” he said. “Instead of living by doctrine, by the true doctrine that always develops and bears fruit, they live by ideologies.”

Francis has had especially harsh words for those who criticize him, in particular the U.S.-based Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).

There is “a large Catholic television channel that has no hesitation in continually speaking ill of the pope,” Francis said in 2021.

“I personally deserve attacks and insults because I am a sinner, but the Church does not deserve them. They are the work of the devil. I have also said this to some of them,” he added.

America Magazine, the Jesuit flagship journal in the U.S., clarified that the pope was referring to EWTN when speaking of “a large television channel” that criticizes him.

He has also said he considers it “an honor to be attacked by Americans” and seems to carry a typically Latin American distrust of the U.S.

In 2023, Francis singled out the United States as uniquely responsible for the global “climate crisis,” despite findings by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) that the U.S. is one of the countries with the cleanest air in the world.

“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact,” he declared in a teaching letter titled Laudate Deum.

POPE FRANCIS JOINS GRAND IMAM IN DENOUNCING CLIMATE ‘CRISIS’

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. 6 Sep 2024 BREITBART

ROME — Pope Francis has signed a joint declaration together with Indonesia’s Grand Imam Nasaruddin Umar, in which they denounce the “crisis” of climate change.

“Our world is clearly facing two serious crises, dehumanization and climate change,” the declaration reads.

“The human exploitation of creation, our common home, has contributed to climate change, leading to various destructive consequences, such as natural disasters, global warming, and unpredictable weather patterns,” states the text, which was read aloud and signed in Southeast Asia’s largest mosque.

The Istiqlal Joint Declaration 2024, subtitled “Fostering Religious Harmony for the Sake of Humanity,” asserts that the “ongoing environmental crisis has become an obstacle to the harmonious coexistence of people.”

“We sincerely call on all people of good will to take decisive action in order to maintain the integrity of the natural environment and its resources,” it reads, “for we have inherited them from the past generations and hope to pass them on to our children and grandchildren.”

Pope Francis is currently in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the midst of the longest trip of his 11-year pontificate. He plans to visit four countries in the Asia Pacific over 12 days, the most continuous time he has spent away from the Vatican since his election in 2013.

After Indonesia, he will travel to Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore.

Along with climate change, the joint declaration decries the “global phenomenon of dehumanization,” marked by widespread violence and conflict. It is “particularly worrying” that religion is often instrumentalized in this regard, causing suffering to many, especially to women, children, and the elderly, it says.

In 2019, Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb of Al-Azhar of Egypt signed a joint declaration in Abu Dhabi, condemning “acts of murder, exile, terrorism and oppression” carried out in God’s name.

We “resolutely declare that religions must never incite war, hateful attitudes, hostility and extremism, nor must they incite violence or the shedding of blood,” the 3,000-word text reads. “These tragic realities are the consequence of a deviation from religious teachings.”

The text was later criticized by prominent theologians for “devaluing the person of Jesus” and “undermining the gospel itself” since it seemed to propose that God willed the existence of a plurality of religions just as he wills a plurality of sexes, races, and languages, rather than willing that all people find their salvation in Jesus Christ.

The passage that caused the most consternation said that the “pluralism and the diversity of religions, color, sex, race and language are willed by God in his wisdom, through which he created human beings.”

A number of Catholic theologians criticized the text, asserting that such a statement seemed to suggest that either God actively wills error, or that all religions are equally valid paths to God.

The existence of a variety of colors, races, and languages in humanity is very different from a variety of contradictory claims about God’s identity and way of acting, they insisted.

POPE FRANCIS: CLIMATE CHANGE DENIERS ARE ‘STUPID’

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. 26 Apr 2024 BREITBART

ROME — POPE FRANCIS TOLD CBS NEWS THIS WEEK THAT CLIMATE CHANGE DENIERS ARE “STUPID” TO REFUTE COMPELLING EVIDENCE OF A CLIMATE EMERGENCY.

“SOME PEOPLE ARE STUPID (NECIOS), AND STUPID EVEN IF YOU SHOW THEM RESEARCH, THEY DON’T BELIEVE IT,” THE PONTIFF TOLD CBS EVENING NEWS ANCHOR NORAH O’DONNELL WHEN ASKED WHAT HE WOULD SAY TO THE DENIERS OF CLIMATE CHANGE.

“Why? Because they don’t understand the situation, or because of their interests, but climate change exists,” the 87-year-old pope asserted.

Pope Francis had never before sat down for an extensive interview, one-on-one, with a U.S. television network during the course of his 11-year pontificate.

CBS aired portions of the interview Wednesday night on the Evening News and has scheduled a longer version to air May 20 on “60 Minutes,” followed by an hourlong prime time special.

During the conversation, Francis was also asked what he thinks about those who describe the violence in Gaza as a “genocide.” The pontiff repeated the term “genocide” and then noted that he calls the Catholic parish in Gaza every evening at around 7:00pm Rome time for an update.

“There are about 600 people there, and they tell me what’s going on,” he said. “It’s very hard; it’s very hard.”

“Food goes in, but they have to fight for it,” he said. “It’s very hard.”

POPE FRANCIS HAS BEEN A VOCAL ENTHUSIAST FOR THE WAR ON CLIMATE CHANGE, CALLING GLOBAL WARMING “ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS AND WORRYING PHENOMENA OF OUR TIME” AND URGING “DRASTIC MEASURES” TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE.

“NOW IS THE TIME TO ABANDON OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOSSIL FUELS AND MOVE, QUICKLY AND DECISIVELY, TOWARDS FORMS OF CLEAN ENERGY AND A SUSTAINABLE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY,” he exhorted in September 2019. “LET US ALSO LEARN TO LISTEN TO INDIGENOUS PEOPLES, WHOSE AGE-OLD WISDOM CAN TEACH US HOW TO LIVE IN A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ENVIRONMENT.”

“WHILE THE SITUATION IS NOT GOOD AND THE PLANET IS SUFFERING, THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY IS STILL OPEN,” HE WARNED. “WE ARE STILL IN TIME. LET US NOT LET IT CLOSE.”

HE HAS EXPRESSED HIS OPINION THAT ANY SKEPTICISM REGARDING AN ALLEGED “CLIMATE EMERGENCY” IS “PERVERSE.”

The pope has also singled out the United States as particularly to blame for the “climate emergency,” despite the fact that it is one of the countries with the cleanest air in the world.

CARDINAL BURKE SAYS ‘CERTAINLY SEEMS’ LIKE END TIMES AS POPE FRANCIS CORRECTS ‘POPE-SPLAINERS’

“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact,” he stated last October.

AMONG THE “FOOLS” DENOUNCED BY THE POPE FOR THEIR “PERVERSE” SKEPTICISM OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS ARE A GROUP OF OVER 1,600 PROMINENT SCIENTISTS, INCLUDING TWO NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS, WHO ISSUED THE “WORLD CLIMATE DECLARATION” LAST AUGUST, REFUTING THE EXISTENCE OF A SO-CALLED “CLIMATE EMERGENCY.”

Among other things, the Declaration asserted that climate models have proven inadequate for predicting global warming, that carbon dioxide (CO2) is not a pollutant, and that climate change has not increased natural disasters.

The world has warmed “significantly less than predicted by IPCC on the basis of modeled anthropogenic forcing,” the text states, and the gap between the real world and the modeled world “tells us that we are far from understanding climate change.”

“THERE IS NO STATISTICAL EVIDENCE THAT GLOBAL WARMING IS INTENSIFYING HURRICANES, FLOODS, DROUGHTS AND SUCHLIKE NATURAL DISASTERS, OR MAKING THEM MORE FREQUENT,” THE DOCUMENT DECLARED. “HOWEVER, THERE IS AMPLE EVIDENCE THAT CO2-MITIGATION MEASURES ARE AS DAMAGING AS THEY ARE COSTLY.”

“THERE IS NO CLIMATE EMERGENCY,” IT CONCLUDED. “THEREFORE, THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR PANIC AND ALARM.”

“We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050. Go for adaptation instead of mitigation; adaptation works whatever the causes are,” it added.

ARCHBISHOP VIGANO RESPONDS TO FRANCIS’ DIABOLICAL STATEMENT ABOUT BAPTISM

POPE FRANCIS CONSECRATES SEPTEMBER TO ‘THE CRY OF THE EARTH’

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. BREITBART 1 Sep 2024

ROME — Pope Francis has consecrated his monthly prayer intention to “the cry of the earth” this September, urging Christians to feel the earth’s “pain.”

“If we took the planet’s temperature, it will tell us that the Earth has a fever,” the pontiff contends. “And it is sick, just like anyone who’s sick.”

“But are we listening to this pain?” he asks.

“Do we hear the pain of the millions of victims of environmental catastrophes?” he continues. “The ones suffering most from the consequences of these disasters are the poor, those who are forced to leave their homes because of floods, heat waves or drought.”

Like many today, the pope places the blame for global warming firmly on the shoulders of humanity, insisting that it is principally human action that causes a warming environment.

“Dealing with the environmental crisis caused by humans, such as climate change, pollution or the loss of biodiversity, begs responses that are not only ecological, but are also social, economic and political,” he argues.

As he has done on many other occasions, Francis also proposes that the battle against climate change entails a personal and communal change of attitudes and modes of acting.

“We must commit ourselves to the fight against poverty and the protection of nature, changing our personal and community habits,” he states.

“Let us pray that each of us listen with our hearts to the cry of the Earth and of the victims of environmental disasters and climate change, making a personal commitment to care for the world we inhabit,” he urges.

Earlier this year, the pope declared that climate change has brought the world to the “breaking point.”

At the time, Francis wrote that he has “heartfelt concerns” for “our suffering planet,” contending that “the world in which we live is collapsing” because of humanity’s failure to adequately address the crisis.

It is “indubitable” that the impact of climate change will increasingly prejudice the lives and families of many persons, he argued, adding that its effects are already felt in the areas of “healthcare, sources of employment, access to resources, housing, forced migrations, etc.”

The pope has singled out the United States as particularly responsible for the climate “emergency” because of the “irresponsible lifestyle” of its citizens.

“If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact,” the pope said last October.

The Pillar Catholic, an online Catholic news outlet, noted at the time that in fact “U.S. per capita emissions are less than 1.5 times that of China,” adding that China’s per capita emissions levels “are significantly higher than the global average.”

The pope also failed to mention that in aggregate, China’s emissions are more than double those of the United States, and America’s air is among the cleanest of any nation, while China’s air quality is among the poorest.

FRANCIS HAS STATED THAT CLIMATE CHANGE IS “NO LONGER A SECONDARY OR IDEOLOGICAL QUESTION, BUT A DRAMA THAT HARMS US ALL,” ADDING THAT CLIMATE CHANGE MANIFESTS “A TRAGIC AND STRIKING EXAMPLE OF STRUCTURAL SIN.”

GAY PRIEST-PAINTER MAKES NEW ICON FOR FATHER JAMES MARTIN’S LGBT EVENT

Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. 13 Aug 2024 BREITBART

Openly gay priest Father William McNichols has created a new icon of Pope Francis kissing Jesus Christ’s feet for Father James Martin’s August LGBT outreach event. The painting shows Pope Francis kissing the feet of Christ, who appears after the resurrection in a hoodie and jeans with his wounded hands and feet, surrounded by two same-sex couples embracing.

Father Martin, a Jesuit priest and gay rights activist, said that he requested the work from Father McNichols — whom he describes as “one of the world’s most renowned iconographers” — for his LGBT Outreach conference at Georgetown University.

The original painting of “The Foot Washing” now hangs in New York in the media headquarters of America magazine, the Jesuits’ flagship publication in the United States. Father McNichols’ icons, paintings and images “hang in Catholic churches, as well as colleges and universities, around the world,” Father Martin said.

McNichols was also one of three keynote speakers at the Outreach conference, “during which he shared his journey as a Catholic priest and artist,” Martin said. Martin notes that among his many ministries, McNichols “was one of the first Catholic priests to work with people with H.I.V./AIDS in New York City during the 1980s.” McNichols, himself a former Jesuit, came out as gay in 1983.

In describing his choice of topic for his new painting, McNichols said that foot washing is an image that symbolically defines Pope Francis’s papacy.

“When James Martin, S.J., asked me to create an image for LGBTQ people and the Outreach conference, I thought first of Jesus washing their feet,” he said. “Then another idea emerged, of Jesus sitting with them, and Pope Francis washing the feet of Jesus and his outcast followers.”

This painting is “set in the cosmos,” McNichols added, “because the acceptance of LGBTQ people remains still in the present and into the future — something to come.”

Make Your (7) Decision for Christ NOW!!!!!!! Time is Up!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:

The ABCs (7) of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)

  1. (7) Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask (7) God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.

. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that (7) Jesus Christ is who He claimed to (7) be; that He was both fully God (7) and fully man and that we are (7) saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. (7) Put your trust in Him as your (7) only hope of salvation. Become a son (7) or daughter of God by receiving Christ. (7777777) 7×7

. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

C. Call upon His name, Confess (7) with your heart and with your lips (7) that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

  1. I had a question. The pope is already 87 years old. How will he fulfil his role as the false prophet if he is so old?

    • Good question ! Thanks for asking! The Bible is ‘silent’ on the ages of the False Prophet and the Prince, Beast, Antichrist. Age is irrelevant. However, with that being said, I can offer a few Biblically consistent reasons why age is irrelevant.
      1. The False Prophet and Antichrist are under the direct control of Satan (for a short time during the tribulation). Satan can’t create life, but he can ’empower’ those whom he so choses.
      2. Satan gives the false illusion that the Antichrist is ‘resurrected’ from his deadly sword wound that was healed. This ‘miraculous’ healing of the Antichrist (from his deadly wound by a sword) creates a deception for the world that motivates those upon the earth to worship the Antichrist and his image.
      3. There are three references, in the book of Revelation, regarding the ‘deadly wound that was healed.’
      4. The bible also provides the fact that the False Prophet is able to conduct ‘false miracles and wonders’ when in proximity to the Beast. This gives reasonable evidence to support the idea that when the False Prophet is near or by the Prince, Beast or Antichrist, he is also under the influence of Satan.
      5. You make a valid point that Francis is very old, by modern human standards. Plus, I believe he suffers from a number of ailments.
      6. However, God is ultimately in control and could likely keep Francis alive to fulfill his divine purpose and plan for the Tribulation. As he also will do with the Prince, Beast, Antichrist.
      7. My ‘opinion’, and is just that … an opinion, is that God allows Satan to physically empower both the False Prophet and Prince, Beast or Antichrist so they can fulfill God’s divine plan during the coming period of human history on earth.

I pray that this makes sense. As always, take this before the Holy Spirit and seek truth or confirmation from the Father or the Son. For issues of biblical questions that don’t have a direct answer, the best we can do is seek God’s guidance, discernment and direction from the Spirit as to understanding and potential answer to a question.

Again, excellent question. One last comment, if the False Prophet is Pope Francis (which I believe he is), and his age is what it is … then how close is the Rapture/Harpazo, the False Peace Treaty (Normalization) between Israel and Saudi Arabia, and the START of the Seven Year Tribulation? Connect the dots … have you considered or discerned any of the postings regarding the Man-by-Satan (MbS)? For just over seven years, I have attempted to provide a Biblically based case for why Mohammed Bin Salman, the Prince of Saudi Arabia and coming 8th King, is in fact the Prince, Beast, Antichrist. I believe 100% that MbS is the Antichrist. Time will ultimately tell. God’s plan will play out in whichever way he so decides.

      In His Service,

      Paul
