100 POUND HAIL STONES? GIANT ICE STONES COMING TO NEOM BABYLON

Anew study published this week may cause a collective groan among those who have had a car dented or a windshield shattered by large hailstones.

EXPECT TO SEE LARGER HAIL AND MORE INTENSE HAILSTORMS AS THE WORLD WARMS, especially in the eastern U.S., according to a study published Wednesday in the Nature journal npj Climate and Atmospheric Science.

The study modeled how hailstones of the past could compare with those of the future, using two scenarios for potential greenhouse gas emissions. The result?

“Hailstones larger than 2 inches get larger,” said study co-author Victor Gensini, an associate professor and meteorologist at Northern Illinois University and one of the nation’s leading experts on storms and tornadoes. The higher the emissions, he said, the greater the size of the hailstones, and the HAIL IS LARGEST AND MOST FREQUENT IN THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO.

WARMER TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO CREATE MORE OF THE UPDRAFTS IN THUNDERSTORMS THAT CREATE BIGGER HAIL, Gensini and co-authors reported. Smaller hail is projected to decrease because it’s more likely to melt in the warmer air as it nears the surface, he said, while LARGER HAIL, FALLING AT A FASTER VELOCITY, WILL BE LESS AFFECTED.

“IF YOU WANT TO CREATE A LARGE HAILSTONE, YOU REALLY NEED A STRONG UPDRAFT,” Gensini said. “If you point a hair dryer on end up into the sky, it’s pretty easy to balance like a pingpong ball on that hair dryer, right? If you want to balance a grapefruit, you need a much stronger hair dryer.”

The warmer temperatures are projected to increase the instability in the environment, which helps build the STRONGER UPDRAFTS THAT FORM LARGE THUNDERSTORMS AND SUPERCELLS. IT’S THE UPDRAFTS THAT LOFT RAINDROPS HIGH UP INTO THE STORM TO FORM AND GROW HAILSTONES.

WARMER TEMPERATURES ALSO ALLOW MORE WATER VAPOR IN THE ATMOSPHERE, THUS ENERGIZING STORMS AND PROVIDING MORE MOISTURE.

The hail study projects fewer days with severe hailstorms across the High Plains and more hail days with bigger hail outside the southern plains, particularly in the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Northeast. Gensini and others have reported similar changes with severe convective storms and tornadoes. More tornadoes are occurring farther east and outside traditional tornado seasons.

What makes a hailstone?

Hail begins when raindrops are carried up inside a storm to colder areas of the atmosphere, where they freeze. But exactly what happens to turn those drops into record-setting hailstones? For example, a hailstone in Vivian, South Dakota, on June 3, 2010, measured 8 inches across.

Scientists are still working to fully understand that, said Matthew Kumjian, a professor of meteorology at Penn State who was not a co-author on the new study. For example, he said, “a hot topic of research” is how the SUPERCOOLING OF LIQUIDS WORKS HIGH UP IN STORMS AND HOW THE LIQUIDS INTERACT WITH PARTICLES AND DISSOLVED PARTICLES IN THE CLOUD TO FORM ICE CRYSTALS.

Just like when baking a cake, Kumjian said, CERTAIN INGREDIENTS ARE NEEDED TO PRODUCE BIG HAIL: STRONG UPDRAFTS, SUPERCOOLED LIQUIDS AND RESIDENCE TIME, MEANING CONDITIONS INSIDE THE STORM THAT ALLOW A HAILSTONE TO STAY IN THE CLOUDS LONGER.

What makes a hailstone grow?

BIG ROTATING SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE THE LION’S SHARE OF LARGE HAIL, Gensini said.

SUPERCELLS ARE A TYPE OF LARGE THUNDERSTORM WITH A ROTATING VORTEX OF AIR THAT CAN BE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF FEET HIGH. IN THE FUTURE, HE SAID, STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS WITH STRONGER UPWARD MOTION CAN PROVIDE THE UPWARD ACCELERATIONS OF AIR THAT PRODUCE MORE HAIL.

A HAILSTONE GROWS LARGER WHEN OTHER DROPS FREEZE ONTO ITS SURFACE WHILE IT IS INSIDE AN UPDRAFT, CREATING GROWTH LAYERS AND THE KNOBBY APPEARANCE THAT BIG STONES GET AS THEY SPIN AND TUMBLE IN THE CLOUDS. THE LONGER A STONE REMAINS IN THE STORM, THE BIGGER IT CAN GET.

Two things are thought to control the residence time: the strength of the updrafts and the speed and direction of the curving, horizontal winds inside the updraft, Kumjian said. Once the stone is no longer supported by the updraft, it begins falling, but it can continue to grow until it hits a temperature above freezing.

How big could hailstones get?

“That’s the million-dollar question,” Kumjian said. So far, the world-record hailstone was found in Bangladesh in 1986, weighing in at just over 2 pounds.

Although scientists are still trying to understand the processes that control hail size, he said, model simulations show the maximum weight a hailstone is likely to reach is 3 pounds.

Using “a huge database” of real hailstone shapes to look at how mass, shape and size are related, RESEARCHERS FOUND A HAILSTONE IN THE TYPICAL ROUNDISH SHAPE COULD REACH ROUGHLY 10 INCHES IN DIAMETER, SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN AN NBA BASKETBALL.

Hail is an increasingly expensive problem

Hail happens somewhere in the United States on average 158 days a year but has typically been considered a secondary peril by the insurance industry, Gensini said.

Given that annual losses from hail damage and severe convective storms are in the multibillions of dollars and five times higher than in 2008, hail and storms are “becoming a primary peril very quickly,” he said. “This year, we’re already up to at least $60 billion in insured losses due to convective storms.”

It’s not just the size or frequency of hail that’s the problem, said Walker Ashley, a meteorologist and professor at Northern Illinois University and a co-author on the hail study. It’s where the hail falls.

“We continue to balloon our population, but it’s not just density,” Ashley said. It’s THE SPREADING OUT OF THE POPULATION INTO PREVIOUSLY RURAL AREAS THAT’S DRIVING THE BILLIONS IN LOSSES.

Hail damage doesn’t generally occur in big multibillion-dollar events. “It’s really because we’re seeing death by 1,000 paper cuts,” Ashley said. “It’s $2 million in damage in one place and $10 million in another.”

THE GREATER RISK FOR MORE SIGNIFICANT HAIL, COUPLED WITH THE EXPANDING FOOTPRINT OF SOCIETY MEANS THE ALREADY ESCALATING ECONOMIC COSTS WILL CONTINUE TO CLIMB, he said.

Is hailstone size already increasing?

It’s too soon to say there’s a definitive trend.

“Many of us would argue in the climate and severe weather community that over the last couple of years, we are seeing this kind of eastward expansion of severe weather activity,” Gensini said.

In the first quarter of 2024, there were 93 reports of hail greater than 2 inches in size compared with 57 last year and a 20-year average of 50, according to a summary by Gallagher Re, a reinsurance firm.

More research is needed to fully understand what’s happening in hailstorms, Kumjian said. “We are still trying to understand the environments and how they control hail size and storm processes.”

This hailstone fell into the yard of Les Scott, a resident of Vivian, South Dakota, on July 23, 2010, along with other hailstones of similar size. This one weighed 31 ounces and measured 8 inches in diameter, with a circumference of 18.62 inches.

What’s the largest hailstone on record in the US?

According to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, if ranked by diameter the hailstones fall in this order. When ranking by circumference, the Nebraska hailstone would be first.

Vivian, South Dakota, July 23, 2010: 31 ounces, 8 inches in diameter and 18.6 inches in circumference.

Aurora Nebraska, June 22, 2003: 7 inches in diameter and 18.75 inches in circumference. Weight not available.

Coffeyville, Kansas, Sept. 3, 1970: 27 ounces, 5.7 inches in diameter and 17.5 inches in circumference.

Potter, Nebraska, July 12, 1928: 24 ounces, 5.4 inches in diameter.

This giant hailstone fell in Coffeyville Kansas in 1970. The stone weighed 1.67 pounds and measured more than 5.5 inches in diameter.

Tribulation Earthquakes

For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; THERE WILL BE EARTHQUAKES IN VARIOUS PLACES; Mark 13:8

Both point to a lot of scripture that tie immense ground shakes to the last days after Rapture. If you’re new to this subject, hopefully you can read these articles to supplement this essay.

The articles point to a lot of scriptures that show the MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE ACTIVITY THAT TAKES PLACE AFTER THE RAPTURE IN THE 7-YEAR TRIBULATION.

Obviously it’s likely that before the Rapture we’ll be seeing an increase in earthquake activity as we get closer to our loud and boisterous exit.

So I was not surprised to run across this recent article in Prophecy News Watch(3) regarding THE INCREASE IN EARTHQUAKE ACTIVITY AROUND THE WORLD.

The article points out that New Jersey, not known for having earthquakes, has been rattled by 200 tremors in the past three months.

In addition, last week a 2.9 quake was oddly registered under Lake Michigan near Sturgeon Bay, WI.

And in Texas…

So many earthquakes have struck the West Texas County of Scurry in the past week (more than 100 at last count) that local officials have declared a state of emergency.

Scurry County Judge Dan Hicks wrote in his Friday declaration of disaster that since the first earthquake, registering magnitude 4.9, was felt the night of July 22, “… damage has been found throughout Scurry County in businesses and residences.”

The article also discusses the “big one” that is due in California. But it seems like that one would be one of the “big two” in the Tribulation.

THE BIBLE INDICATES THERE WILL BE A LOT OF GROUND SHAKING AROUND THE WORLD IN THE TRIBULATION.

In addition to the smaller quakes, THERE WILL BE TWO HUGE EARTHQUAKES IN THE 7-YEAR FUTURE TRIBULATION. To keep this simple, I’ll refer to the first Tribulation earthquake as EQ1 and second Tribulation earthquake as EQ2.

The main differences between EQ1 and EQ2 are the size and timing.

EQ1 takes place a couple of years after the Rapture (Judgment Seal 6) and only moves mountains.

The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.….Rev. 6:14

and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. Rev. 6:18b 

As you can see, this will be largest earthquake to ever take place on planet earth… until the next big one.

EQ2 is the mother of all earthquakes, coming at the end of the Tribulation (Judgment Bowl 7). It totally flattens mountains. Imagine that!

THERE WAS A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, SUCH AS THERE HAD NOT BEEN SINCE MAN CAME TO BE UPON THE EARTH, SO GREAT AN EARTHQUAKE WAS IT, AND SO MIGHTY….And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. Rev. 16:18, 20

EQ2 is so strong it shakes the entire planet, flattens all the world’s mountains, and sinks all the world’s islands. No wonder Isaiah says only a few people will survive into the Millennium (Is.24:6).

EQ2 is also referred to in other places in the Bible.

 Mountains quake because of Him and the hills dissolve; Indeed the earth is upheaved by His presence, Nah.1:5 

The fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth will SHAKE AT MY PRESENCE; THE MOUNTAINS ALSO WILL BE THROWN DOWN, THE STEEP PATHWAYS WILL COLLAPSE AND EVERY WALL WILL FALL TO THE GROUND. Ezek. 38:20

Luke 3:4-6 quotes Isaiah the prophet who says THE PURPOSE OF THE EARTH BEING SHOOK SO BADLY IS FOR THE ENTIRE EARTH TO SEE THE GLORY AND POWER OF GOD.

A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. Let every valley be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, and the rugged terrain a broad valley; Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all flesh will see it together; Is. 40:3-5

Most teach that those verses are referring to John the Baptist’s ministry… and they are. But they also are tied into EQ2 at the end of the Tribulation.

AND EQ2 IS FOLLOWED BY JESUS’ SECOND COMING, WHEN THE ENTIRE EARTH WILL SEE HIM COMING IN THE SKY.

BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Rev. 1:7

But He is coming in the clouds, just like when He departed on a cloudy day.

And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11

SO EQ2 WILL CLOSE THE TIME OF TRIBULATION. A LOT HAPPENS THAT DAY. WITH ALL THE HUGE MOUNTAINS OF THE WORLD FALLING DOWN TO BEING ONLY “HILLS,“ Mt. Moriah will be raised up as the highest mountain.

Jesus will reign 1000 years from the earth’s highest mountain.
Up until this time, the Old City of Jerusalem located on Mt. Moriah had been surrounded by higher mountains on all sides—Mt. of Olives to the east, Mt. Zion to the west and Mt. Scopus to the north.

And it will come about in the last days that the mountain of the house of the LORD (Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem) will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, Micah 4:1   

It’s at that time that Jesus returns to the earth; i.e., His Second Coming. When His feet touch down on the Mount of Olives, it splits north and south.

In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.  Zach. 14:4

This is no small split! I’m guessing we’ll get to see this in real time as it happens when we’re coming back to earth with the Lord!!!

This massive move of earth creates a huge valley to the east of Mount Moriah that’s large enough for Jesus to judge the nations of the world.

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land. Joel 3:2

NEOM BABYLON: MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN’S ‘BEAST’S SEAT’ OR ‘GREAT CITY.’

NEOM SITS ON THE THREE OF THE LARGEST TECTONIC PLATES IN THE WORLD

1. . . . “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, THERE WAS A GREAT EARTHQUAKE; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” (Rev. 6:12).
2. . . . “And EVERY MOUNTAIN AND ISLAND WERE MOVED OUT OF THEIR PLACES. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of mountains; and SAID TO THE MOUNTAINS AND ROCKS, FALL ON US, AND HIDE US from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb (Rev. 6:14-16).
3. . . . “And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, AND AN EARTHQUAKE.” (Rev. 8:5).
4. . . . “And there were voices and thunders, and lightnings; AND THERE WAS A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, SUCH AS WAS NOT SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH, SO MIGHTY AN EARTHQUAKE AND SO GREAT. AND THE GREAT CITY WAS DIVIDED INTO THREE PARTS, AND THE CITIES OF THE NATIONS FELL: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of wine of the fierceness of his wrath.” (Rev. 16:18-19).
5. . . . “And EVERY ISLAND FLED AWAY, AND THE MOUNTAINS WERE NOT FOUND.” (Rev. 16:20).

Even before the week of Jacob’s trouble or the Tribulation period, Christ warned mankind that the nearness of his return would be accompanied by the increasing frequency, intensity, scope and destruction of earthquakes. The references to earthquakes during the Tribulation take the destruction experienced from pre-tribulation earthquakes to a whole new, global level. LARGE PORTIONS OF CITIES, AND ENTIRE CITIES ARE QUICKLY DESTROYED AROUND THE WORLD.

 BABYLON, CAPITAL OF THE EVIL EMPIRE AND HOME TO THE MYSTERY RELIGION, IS SPLIT INTO THREE PARTS AND DESTROYED WITHIN ONE HOUR. Imagine New York City, San Francisco, London, Paris, Tokyo, Rome, Hongkong or Moscow suddenly being split into three sections and totally destroyed within one hour. Yes, within one hour!

THE CATACLYSMIC EFFECT OF THE ‘GREAT, SUCH-AS-WAS-NOT-SINCE-MEN-WERE-UPON-THE-EARTH-EARTHQUAKE’ IS TO LITERALLY LEVEL MOUNTAINS, DESTROY/SUBMERGE ISLANDS AND LEVEL ENTIRE CITIES. THIS APPEARS TO REPRESENT AN ENTIRE GLOBAL, AXIS SHIFT AND/OR SHIFTING OF CONTINENTS.

 The shifting of the earth on its axis or of its continental shelves, would cause tremendous inter-continental stress on the earth’s crust. REV.16:18-19 CLEARLY INDICATES THAT CITIES IN NATIONS, AROUND THE WORLD, FALL DUE TO THIS GLOBAL, CATACLYSMIC EARTHQUAKE. There is no hiding in hills, bunkers, mountains, remote islands, high rises or any other natural or manmade shelter.  Everything is flattened. Around the world.

THE ‘GREAT EARTHQUAKE’ THAT MAN HAS NEVER, NOR WILL EVER AGAIN EXPERIENCE, will probably be at the level of 10.0 (which is off of the Richter Scale shown). Why do I say 10.0? Ten (10) Biblically denotes allness or completeness in a physical way, as to things on earth. Going from 7.0 to 8.0 is a thirty-fold increase in magnitude or strength, going from 8.0 to 9.0 is another increase in magnitude or strength of thirtyfold, lastly, going from 9.0 to 10.0 is yet another thirtyfold increase in magnitude or strength. Therefore, going from 7.0 to 10.0 on the scale is logarithmically a 30 x 30 x 30 (27,000%) increase in magnitude or strength.

This is unimaginable, unless you think of it mathematically, biblically. Keep in mind, Seismologists (scientists who study earthquakes and what causes them) consider an earthquake between 7.0 and 8.0 to be major or severe, and capable of causing great devastation and fatalities. If you continue to extrapolate the logarithmic slope line from 8.0 or 9.0 to a hypothetical 10.0 on the scale, the slope line would be almost completely vertical as you near 10.0 (off the charts).

An earthquake with a magnitude of destruction of 10.0 would indeed affect the whole world, not just one city on one continent. Note, Seismologists rate an earthquake just below 9.0 as GREAT, what would an earthquake of 10.0 be? Cataclysmic?

Mankind did not have a Richter scale, or scientific benchmark system to measure earthquakes, back in the days of John the Apostle. They only knew how bad an earthquake was by the amount of devastation it caused, and how much money they would have to beg from Rome in order to rebuild.

REV. 18-19 INDICATES “; AND THERE WAS A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, SUCH AS WAS NOT SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH, SO MIGHTY AN EARTHQUAKE, AND SO GREAT. AND THE GREAT CITY WAS DIVIDED INTO THREE PARTS, AND THE CITIES OF NATIONS FELL: AND GREAT BABYLON CAME IN REMEMBRANCE BEFORE GOD, TO GIVE UNTO HER THE CUP OF THE WINE OF THE FIERCENESS OF HIS WRATH.”

There are three more hints or indications that the earthquake that hits Babylon happens very fast; Verses: 18:10, 18:17 and 18:19 all indicate that BABYLON IS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND ANNIHILATED BY THIS GREAT EARTHQUAKE WITHIN JUST ‘ONE HOUR’!

   SEVEN-FOLD DOOMS ON BABYLON CITY:

1. All plagues come in one day, one hour, death, mourning, famine, burning with fire. (Rev. 18:8, 10)
2. The great city is divided into three parts by the great earthquake on the Day of the Lord. (Rev. 16:19)
3. No music (entertainment) will be heard. (Rev. 18:22)
4. No craftsman (industry) will be found. (Rev. 18:22)
5. No millstone (delicious dining, restaurants) will be found. (Rev. 18:22)
6. No light (artificial or natural) will shine. (Rev. 18:23)
7. Voice of the bridegroom and bride (marriages) will not be heard. (Rev. 18:23)

These verses describe what happens to the capital city of an evil empire, when God brings his ‘celestial hammer of wrath’. The city gets hammered and pounded into oblivion. (Rev. 18:21) . . . “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” The great pride of the great city (entertainment, renewable energy, delicious dining, marriages, splendor, industry) disappear within an hour. These Biblical prophecies match up PRECISELY with the promise of NEOM Babylon! An earthquake splits the city into three parts. The burning and smoke from the city can be seen for many miles offshore by sailors, and captains of vessels who transported wealth to Babylon’s docks. (Rev. 17:17).

SEVEN TYPES OF MEN HIDING FROM CHRIST ON THE GREAT DAY OF THE LORD

Men think that mountains can protect them from the wrath of the Lamb, but that is not the case. The are so absolutely terrified by the wrath of Jesus Christ, that they would rather die, on the spot, by an avalanche that have to face the Lamb, Jesus Christ. At the sight of Christ, they immediately know, or are convicted, of their life of sin and that it will come with a judgement.

They would rather die now from rocks, and be hidden and covered up, hoping to escape the punishment that Christ brings on The Day of the Lord, than have to face him at judgement. In their twisted fear and self-condemnation, they feel that being confronted by Christ directly, is worse than death itself.

These poor men are truly deceived, they ignored the messages of salvation, grace and the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. They had a chance to be saved earlier, and either ignored the message, didn’t believe it was true, forgot about it or didn’t think it applied to them, or procrastinated in thinking about it.

It is now too late and they are absolutely terrified of the wrath that Jesus Christ brings. Pity, they now think their only escape is a pile of rocks. They literally feel like they want to ‘just crawl under a rock and die,’ due to their shame and embarrassment at having rejected Jesus Christ. Painful, very painful. An understatement.

(Rev. 6:15-17) . . . “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, HID THEMSELVES IN THE DENS AND IN THE ROCKS OF MOUNTAINS; AND SAID TO THE MOUNTAINS AND ROCKS, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Like scared mice, men hide under and behind rocks because of the glory and wrath of Jesus Christ on the day of his return or second coming. Today, millionaires and billionaires (and political elite) are building bunkers and enclaves in mountains and islands, with the thought they will be able to withstand a nuclear holocaust. It is the wrong solution to the wrong problem.

 They won’t be able to hide themselves when Jesus returns. Notice the sequence (or ranking of men). It is from greatest to least, wealthiest to poorest, the political elite to those who have no power. These men quickly realize they are in trouble and have literally no place to run or hide. They are so terrified, that they would rather die than face the judgement and wrath of the Lamb. This is in light of the fact that they all had earlier opportunities, throughout their life, to accept the forgiveness of their sins, through the Lamb, but chose not to do so.

 Now, it is too late, and wrath has come. Thus, they are reaping the consequence of their decision(s). THEIR $18 MILLION, STEEL REINFORCED, TRIPLE-CONCRETED WALLS, AND LUXURY STOCKED FOOD PANTRIES IN BUNKERS, WILL FOLD AND CRUSH LIKE AN EMPTY ALUMINUM SODA CAN.

Ironically, MEN WANT ROCKS TO FALL ON THEM TO HIDE THEM (OR SAVE THEM) FROM THE WRATH OF THE LAMB. Men are so deceived and weak-minded that they now think that rocks can save them, instead of the blood of the Lamb. When a person is thoroughly and completely ashamed or embarrassed over something incredibly wrong that they did, most people with a conscience wish that they ‘could just crawl under a rock and die’ instead of facing public scrutiny and ridicule.

RIYADH: As Saudi Arabia taps into the potential of adventure tourism, a cave in Madinah’s Khaybar governorate has emerged as a compelling destination for enthusiasts and researchers.

Abu Al-Waul, located in the Harrat Khaybar volcanic area, is Saudi Arabia’s longest basalt cave, reaching approximately 5 km, according to a recent Saudi Press Agency report.

Discovered recently by the Saudi Geological Survey, it is named after the numerous ibex skeletons found there. The organization is working on a variety of projects to maximize the geological and tourism potential of such sites.

In an interview with SPA, cave-exploration enthusiast Hassan Al-Rashidi said Harrat Khaybar has several ancient caves and volcanoes. These have geological formations and rock structures that have not been adequately studied.

Al-Rashidi is among several individuals who have been documenting their experiences in the region, including detailing locations, cave types, access routes, and safety measures.

He is also involved in organizing trips to these sites for researchers, enthusiasts and adventurers.
