How will the size of the human body change in the future and what factors might contribute to this?

Human body size has increased by approximately 6 inches over the last few decades due to improved living conditions. Nutrition, medical care, and reduced exposure to environmental pollutants have been central factors in this regard. A direct comparison, for example between South and North Korea, shows how strongly socioeconomic conditions influence body size: better food availability and prosperity lead to greater growth.

Despite these advances, there are natural limits which are determined by biological and physical factors. Extreme body sizes, as in the case of gigantism, bring health problems, including cardiovascular diseases and an increased risk for bone fragility. The best example is the tallest recorded human from America so far, who stood at 8.9 feet. However, he died at the age of 21 after numerous illnesses.

This fact is not surprising since growth in size also changes the proportions between different organs, which is a source of many dysfunctions. Blood volume also rises with increased size, burdening the cardiovascular system. Our biology therefore sets an upper limit for human body size, beyond which health complications are more likely to occur.

We can expect that people in a healthy environment still have a limited potential for upward growth. But beyond a certain size, it becomes extremely counterproductive.

What role does weight play in the future of humans and how might it change?

The development of human weight will depend on health, technological, and socioeconomic dimensions. The prevalence of being overweight and obese is increasing worldwide, driven by changing eating habits. A rise in the amount of highly processed foods and a lifestyle characterized by lack of exercise are visible. This development not only poses individual health risks but also causes considerable economic costs for society due to the treatment of subsequent diseases like Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular problems.

Parallel to this, technological advancements, particularly in the field of digital health technologies and genetic research, offer new opportunities for personalized weight management and preventive health measures. Apps and wearables that collect health and activity data, as well as insights into genetic predispositions for being overweight, can enable individually tailored diet and exercise plans.

The decisive factor will be the social and cultural perception of body weight in the respective populations. Weight is usually a decision of the individual and a result of their own mindset, except in the case of illnesses.

The societal ideal of beauty also plays an influential role. The weight of the future will definitely influence the survivability of civilization. How could transhumanism influence the physical development of humans and what impact could this have on our society?

Transhumanism is a movement that aims to enhance the human condition through the use of advanced technologies. This includes overcoming aging, and physical and mental limitations. The central belief is that humans should be able to radically extend their lifespans and enormously expand their life substance through technology.

This also means establishing technical options in the body and ultimately reaching a new level as a cyborg. With advancements in biotechnology, genetics, nanotechnology, and AI, the hope is that we will reach a future age that goes far beyond what is currently considered a natural limit, such as 300 years or more, even.

The implications of such a shift would have profound social and economic impacts. Social security systems, including pensions and healthcare, could collapse under the pressure of such a long-lived population.

Labor markets would have to transform completely. With all conceivable mutations, the question also arises as to whether this extension is only a privilege for those who can afford it, or will access be democratized, offering broad societal participation. Question after question. But the vision and its diligent followers show there’s no stopping us. If we’ve learned one thing in the past decades, it is that you should never say never.

What impact can artificial intelligence have on the human brain?

Neural plasticity, i.e., the brain’s ability to change structurally and functionally in response to learning experiences and environmental changes, is a great opportunity. Through the use of AI-supported technologies and systems, the human brain is confronted with a wealth of new information and stimuli, leading to accelerated adaptation and optimization of cognitive processes.

This dynamic enhances efficiency in information processing, problem-solving skills, and learning by reducing cognitive loads and allowing humans to focus on more complex and creative tasks.

AI technologies, especially in connection with EEG (electroencephalography) and other neuroimaging methods, also offer neurofeedback exercises. These aim to modulate and optimize neural activity. By receiving real-time feedback about their mental state, users can learn to regulate specific brainwave patterns. This helps in the treatment of anxiety disorders and also for mental elevation.

Will our mental ability improve accordingly?

Human mental ability will significantly improve through the increased integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies in education, work, everyday life, and living. The penetration of all areas of life will thereby become fluid. Distinctions like the work-life balance will become unnecessary. Even the fulfilment of specific workdays will become superfluous when everything is running smoothly. The everlasting, personalized learning experiences promote critical, solution-oriented thinking and sovereignty in dealing with complexity. The intellectual rate of humans will increase tremendously.

This exponential success story is fabulous. But who and how many will be able to live and claim these high fruits of the culture of evolution is the actual and perennially unresolved problem in itself. The ethical and social challenges of poverty, inequality, injustice, and exclusion are absolutely overwhelming.

Now the ultimate question arises, do political systems and their powerful representatives even have an interest in spreading maturity on a large scale?

Artificial intelligence offers the chance to answer vital questions with an approximating objectivity. This will cause enormous headaches for many involved. Who wants to hear at least a factual truth after all? Technology can change and enrich us, but whether we allow that is another question altogether.

Ultimate end: Redefining and reconfiguring the human nature and condition. Eventually, humans will merge with technology and become one with it, according to Schwab. “At the end, what the Fourth Industrial Revolution will lead to is a fusion of our physical, our digital, and our biological identities,” he declared at a speech at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and many since then. Just like eugenics, there is no natural selection involved, but rather a selective implementation by and for those willing to pay the cost (and to be experimented upon). And there is no limit to the experimentation and no ethical constraints on applying the technologies.

First came eugenics, then came abortion on demand and infanticide, and now there is the new horizon posed by transhumanism. That is the evolution of an evil kind! None of these have moral, ethical, or religious constraints—all are arbitrary, determined by those holding political power.

Human-like robots have long been the stuff of science-fiction films, but tech companies are edging ever closer to making them a daily reality — and they may be the next big thing to come out of the artificial intelligence boom (AI).

But while the industry could be worth $13.8 billion by 2028, according to MarketsandMarkets, there’s still a long way to go before we see humanoid robots roaming the streets or replacing us in the workforce.

Nevertheless, Business Insider has taken a look at eight of the most advanced prototypes around.

Saudi Arabia’s first humanoid robot won’t talk about sex or politics because she is Saudi, her creator says.

Elie Metri, the CEO of Riyadh-based QSS AI & Robots, told Business Insider that “Sara knows that she’s a girl, she’s 25 years old, she’s 1.62 centimeters, she’s wearing Saudi clothing.”

Metri added: “She should be nice, not talking politics, not talking sex because we’re in Saudi Arabia. It shouldn’t go into those topics.”

Sara, who wears a traditional Saudi abaya, a modest robe-like dress, is the first humanoid robot designed and manufactured in Saudi Arabia and possibly in the Middle East.

She’s bilingual, speaking both Arabic and English.

Metri said Sara uses the company’s own language learning model — an AI program designed to recognize and generate text and speech.

LLMs are trained using machine learning on huge sets of data.

“We don’t rely on anyone else’s libraries, not even ChatGPT,” Metri told BI.

Saudi Arabia’s legal system is based on Sharia law, though there have been attempts to modernize Saudi society in recent years.

These include relaxing rules on dress codes and on women driving.

Nonetheless, women can still be punished for political activism, and discussions of sex and sexuality are off-limits.

Metri said Sara garnered widespread attention following her appearances at various tech expos, effectively spotlighting Saudi Arabia’s advancements in robotics and AI.

However, an incident earlier this month involving the company’s other humanoid robot, Muhammad, went truly viral.

In a video, the robot appeared to extend a hand to touch an Al Arabiya reporter’s backside. She can be seen responding with a stern glare and a raised palm.

On X, social media users accused the robot of inappropriately touching the reporter.

“I have more than six or seven pages of links from around the globe,” said Metri, who appeared to be unfazed by the media attention.

He said that, in person, it did not appear that Muhammad inappropriately touched the reporter.

“While humans are speaking, we move hands, we are not mannequins,” he said. “It’s the same for a robot.”

Metri said that, in his view, the robot slightly moved its hand and fingers while speaking, and because the reporter was standing too close to Muhammad, it lightly touched her jacket.

“Sexual assault is totally different from a robot hand touching the jacket of a lady,” he said.

Despite the ensuing social media frenzy, Metri said he’s not concerned by the incident, and nor were attendees of the DeepFest conference in Riyadh where it occured.

“The weirdness is that in the whole Middle East, even in Saudi Arabia, no one saw this as bad because they know it’s a robot,” he said.

Romans 12:19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
