Blog note: In the Bible’s book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit prompts John the Apostle to write many things. Including information about a ‘false prophet.’ The false prophet plays a major prophetic role during the Tribulation and Great Tribulation period. He propagates a false or “mystery religion” of blasphemy, deception and lies world wide. He does NOT promote the true gospel of Jesus Christ, but rather every other man-made religion. Sin, salvation and redemption of man through Jesus Christ is denied. Plain and simple. The concept of the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ is so abhorrent to the false prophet and antichrist, that anyone publicly testifying of it will be martyred by beheading (Tribulation Saints). I can’t imagine that anyone would argue against these facts who has read their bible and the book of Revelation. The false prophet is someone who will be recognized world wide. The false prophet will be someone who speaks with conviction (satanic). The false prophet will be someone who is completely under control by Satan via the beast / antichrist. The false prophet will be someone who will pull all the world’s false religions together under coexistence, inclusiveness, universalism and other twisted forms of “theology” that tickle the ears of men seeking approval and self-acceptance. The Bible does not give us the name of the false prophet, nor does it give us the name of the beast / antichrist / man of sin / perfection of deception. However, those who are watching with discernment, can easily identify the false prophet. It may be the current Pope, or a future Pope. Time will tell. If you believe we are in the time running just up to the Tribulation period, then the false prophet is most likely the current Pope. If you believe that we have a long ways to go (many years) before the Tribulation starts, then it is likely that a future Pope may become the false prophet. At any rate, the current Pope (Francis) gives us a very good idea or shadow of who to expect will fulfill the role of the false prophet. End of note.
What does God say about the false prophet?
… “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword and did live. And he had the power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and caus that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Rev. 13:11-17).
… “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.” (Rev. 16:13). (Emphasis added).
… “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” (Rev. 19:20). (Emphasis added).
… “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev. 20:10). (Emphasis added.)
False Prophet announces there is no hell, being gay is ok, crowns an idol/statue as the “queen of heaven,” supports a one world government, says being good is “good enough” to get into heaven, addresses the United Nations in speech (no word of the gospel, just politics and worldly solutions), maintains a cover up of his priests’ pedophile sexual abuses around the world, approves fashion show glorifying priestly garments, is forming an alliance with other religious leaders around the world. Numerous retractions by his priests indicating the head priest didn’t mean what he said. Lies and more lies. Continues to deceive, to communicate false doctrine(s) and the worship of idols. Worships power, influence and wealth. Accepts and supports other world false religious doctrines.
Three-fold Reference to Unclean Spirits:
… “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.” (Rev. 16:13). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Unclean is the opposite of clean or righteous. Therefore, unclean spirits are evil spirits, or those spirits coming from Satan’s kingdom. It is possible, these spirits have a spiritual form representing some form of grotesque frog or amphibian-like creation, however, the reference to frogs might be better understood using a metaphorical interpretation. Frogs are usually camouflaged creatures, blending in and hidden in their environment. You usually don’t know they are in proximity to you unless you see them suddenly jump and swim away. They make a load croaking sound to attract a mate and draw attention to themselves (just as the beast/antichrist wants to draw attention to himself). They can very quickly, in a split second, capture a fly or prey, with a quick thrust of their tongue. If you are an insect, and are in close range of the frog, you will become his meal, very quickly. Apparently, Satan calls up and releases three of his frog-like evil spirits out into the world for them to spiritually attract kings of the earth to do battle at Armageddon. Being camouflaged and otherwise unseen, the kings may not be aware of, and are unsuspecting that they are being targeted with deception by the frog-spirits. You can be sitting on a bench, near a pond or swampy area, and unbeknownst to you, a frog could be sitting a foot away from you on the edge of its domain. Sitting quietly, waiting…and waiting…and waiting for the right moment to capture its prey. The only goal for the unclean, frog-like spirits is to quietly, under camouflage, sneak into the domains of other kings on earth and spiritually goad or prompt them into coming to war at Armageddon. These kings may already be in the thought process of waring either against the beast/antichrist, or in waring against other kings, nonetheless, the evil frog-spirits provide them with a spiritual nudge or suggestion to that they need to come to Armageddon.
Let me suggest this. If you were a king, of let’s say China or India, and you were being told by the beast/antichrist of the world that he directly commands you and your army to attend the battle with the one who sits on throne of heaven, who has great wrath, what would you think? Sure…sign me up, count me in, I’ll be there as soon as my battalions are ready! NOT! The incentive for them to come to Armageddon has to be deceptive, hidden and subtle. They can’t know what they are in for, or else they won’t come…they won’t be “gathered to do battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Rev. 16:14). The Bible is silent on whatever the incentive or provocation is for these kings … all we know is that three, unclean, frog-like, evil spirits are sent out by Satan, the beast/antichrist and the false prophet to lure foreign kings to come to a great battle at Armageddon. Why does the bible use the reference out of their mouth three distinct times? My interpretation is that this is spiritual form of deception or lie is released by each evil entity (Satan, Beast and False Prophet) by speaking the unclean spirit into existence and commanding it to go out into the world to accomplish what it is capable of accomplishing…and that is to deceive the Kings to come to Armageddon. These spirits will lie, deceive, and manipulate the kings, in any way possible to accomplish Satan’s goal. The evil, unclean, frog-like ‘toadies’ are just the perfect special operations team, from hell or the bottomless pit, to get the job done.
Four-fold Reference to the False Prophet/2nd Beast:
- … “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.” (Rev. 13:11-12). (Emphasis added).
- … “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.” (Rev. 16:13). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived themn that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimestone.” (Rev. 19:20). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimestone, where the beast and false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev. 20:10). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: All of the references used are lowercase and descriptive in purpose. The term false prophet (used three times to signify emphasis and intensity) and another beast, two horned lamb, speaking as a dragon are all used only once. Why the descriptive use of false prophet? A prophet is someone who claims to speak the word of God directly to men, based on the authority and conviction of the Holy Spirit. A false prophet is someone who is attempting to deceive men with a word or doctrine that is not of or from God. It is not divinely inspired with authority or conviction from the Holy Sprit, but rather, comes from someplace else (hell, bottomless pit, mouth of Satan, demons, devils). The doctrine and worship is false as opposed to true. Thus, the false prophet is promoting false objects of worship and false doctrines of man made religious practices and rituals. Since he is a real, physical man, his name will not be known until he assumes his evil role, once the the beast / antichrist / man-of-sin shows up on the scene. The symbolism of the false prophet having two horns like a lamb, yet speaking like a dragon is interesting. The small, two horns on a lamb are not powerful, they can’t hurt anyone or cause any damage. Neither can a lamb. Lambs are meek and mild creatures, easily scared and frightened. They do not posses any power or strength. They bleat and do not roar. Dragons (along with lions), on the other hand, roar with fierocity.
This false prophet roars with satanic conviction and authority. He is given his power from the beast/antichrist, to speak things and perform miracles while in his presence. Unclean spirits are also sometimes referred to as demons. The false prophet has the ability, through the antichrist, to cast into the world an unclean spirit or demon from his mouth. All of these special abilities and powers come directly from the beast, who gets his power, authority and seat from Satan. Just like black, smelly sludge in a pit, evil flows downhill … from Satan, to the beast, to the false prophet, to men. There is a double (2) reference that the false prophet will end up in the lake of fire and brimestone (2nd death). This double emphasis of an equal measure or weight indicates that there is no error in the fact that the false prophet is destined for the lake of fire and brimestone (2nd death), along with the beast at the end of the Tribulation period. Satan will be joining them also in the lake of fire and brimestone (2nd death), but at the end of Christ’s Millenial 1,000 year reign. The false prophet, like the beast / antichrist / man of sin, and Satan will be tormented for ever and ever (eternity) in the lake of fire and brimestone (2nd death).
Five-fold Satanically Empowered Counterfeits:
- … “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, seat, and great authority.” (Rev. 13:2). (Emphasis added).
- Beast Worship. … “…and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast.” (Rev. 13:14). (Emphasis added).
- Beast Image / Worship. … “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Rev. 13:15). (Emphasis added).
- False Prophet. … “And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.” (Rev 13:12). (Emphasis added). “…he had power to do in the sight of the beast.” (Rev. 13:14). (Emphasis added). “…and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them…” (Rev. 19:20). (Emphasis added.
- False Prophet Miracles. … “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” (Rev. 13:14). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: These four (4) verses clearly indicate that Satan provides the beast directly, with his “power, seat and authority”, and the false prophet indirectly, “with all the power of the first beast, to do miracles in the sight of the beast.” The beast and false prophet are satanically driven puppets that are only able to exercise their evil power, as a result of receiving it from Satan. Satan’s power is not omnipotent or omnipresent. Satan’s power is limited in scope and requires his presence. The false prophet can only exercise his power and deceptions when he is in sight (close proximity) of the beast.
Seven-fold Evils of the False Prophet:
… “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” (Rev. 13:11-13). (Emphasis added).
… “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Rev. 13:14-15). (Emphasis added).
…. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom, Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of man; and his number is Six hundred three-score and six.” (Rev. 13:16-18). (Emphasis added).
- Exercises all the demonic power of the antichrist. (Rev. 13:12)
- Causes people on the earth to worship the beast/antichrist. (Rev. 13:12)
- Deceives those on earth by false miracles or wonders, but is only able to do these when the antichrist is present. (Rev. 13:13-14)
- Requires people on earth to build an image of the beast/antichrist. (Rev. 13:14)
- Gives false life to the man-made image enabling it to speak. (Rev. 13:15)
- Forces all people to receive the antichrist’s mark of ownership in their forehead or right hand, forces buying and selling to be contingent upon having this mark. Causes the martyrdom of those not willing to worship the beast or his image. (Rev. 13:15-17)
- Causes people on earth to worship the beast’s image. (Rev. 13:15)
Commentary: The False Prophet is the Antichrist’s ‘right hand’ man, propaganda minister, and #1 religious cheerleader, in an all-in-one package. A yes man of the most evil sort. Adolf Hitler had very similar people operating in this capacity during his evil attempt to enslave the world. The False Prophet will be demonically or satanically inspired to perform the deceit and false miracles that lead the weak-minded and spiritually dead to falsely worship the beast/antichrist. Interestingly, the False Prophet can only conduct these false miracles when he is in sight/proximity to the beast. This indicates that Satan’s power is not omnipresent, but can only be conveyed to a willing participant within close proximity to Satan. Whereas God’s power is unlimited by time and space, Satan’s power is not and is strictly limited. Just as Hitler forced the Jews to take a tattoo or mark of the Star of David, for identification, so too will the beast/antichrist force citizens to take his mark for identification. Additionally, Hitler forced Jews to have a number tattooed on them in concentration camps, for more detailed recognition and identification. Scripture continues to tell us that the Antichrist/Beast will also force the number of his name to be forced onto people. Impossible you say? See my detailed analysis of the Sevenfold Markings by the Beast/Antichrist. The False Prophet is also the ringleader to get men to make a false image(s) of the beast and to have men worship it. Impossible you think? Read my detailed analysis on the Sevenfold Image of the Beast. The False Prophet is the enabler of spiritual fornication on a global, worldwide scale all with the endorsement, approval, sanctioning and blessing from the Beast. Satan gives the False Prophet enough power, through the beast/antichrist, to ensure this satanic abomination is accomplished.
Seven-fold Reference to the Beast’s Mark/Name/Number Required by the False Prophet:
- … “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.” (Rev. 13:16). (Emphasis added).
- … ”And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand.” (Rev. 14:9). (Emphasis added)
- … “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name”. (Rev. 14:11). (Emphasis added).
- … “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.” (Rev. 15:2). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” (Rev. 16:2). (Emphasis added).
- … “ And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimestone.” (Rev. 19:20). (Emphasis added).
- … “And I saw the thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hand; and they live and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:4). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: The false prophet causes those who dwell on the earth to do a lot of bad things. The beast/antichrist uses marks to identify those who belong to his evil kingdom. The mark of the beast is physically apparent on the forehead or right hand of his citizens. What this mark will look like is a matter of debate and conjecture. It could be a stamp using non-removable die, a tattoo, or even a physical blemish that results from genetic manipulation. Cattle are often marked or branded by their ranchers or owners for identification. The process of cattle branding uses extremly hot fire to heat up a metal die or stamp (at the end of a long metal pole). The metal stamp is heated until the point of being red hot (glowing), or hot enough to burn a mark, initials or emblem into the leathery, thick skin of the cattle. This leaves a mark deep enough, that the cattle cannot outgrow the rancher’s mark of ownership. They permanently belong to him, until they are sold and slaughtered. By the beast/antichrist using a mark to identify his ownership of unredeemed souls, he views them as cattle…ready for the slaughterhouse of hell. The marking of unredeemed souls compares very differently to the seals or sealing used by God on those redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. (Rev. 3:12, 7:3-4, 7:5-8, 14:1).
Historically, a seal was placed by a king on a document to authenticate the document’s origin and ownership. In many cases, wax would be heated to the point of melting and dripped onto the document’s edges. As the wax was drying, the king would use a signet ring or royal stamp to put his initials, mark, or royal crest (emblem) into the wax. As long as the seal was not broken, the person receiving the official document, sealed and in tact, immediately knew who sent the document and that it was not tampered with. The recipient could then be assured of the document’s authenticity and accuracy. God applies his seal of ownership to redeemed souls, through Jesus Christ. We have a royal seal of the spirit as opposed to the physical marking characterized by the antichrist. We have been spared a bloody slaughtering, as Christ was already bloodily slaughered on the cross for our behalf. By contrast, the cattle owned by the antichrist/beast will experience a bloody slaughtering at Armeggedon. (Rev. 14:20 … “blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hudred furlongs). The mark of the antichrist/beast indicates the corrupted physical and spiritual image of those he owns, whereas, the seal of God, through Jesus Christ, indicates our imager status as belonging to God and of being citizens of heaven and the New Jersusalem.
I would rather have the loving, royal seal of God, given to us by Christ, in my heart and head…than to have an ugly, stamp forced or burned onto my forehead or hand. Once again, in his Revelation to John, the Apostle, Jesus mentions seven (7) times that the mark of the beast will lead to eternal damnation. He cares enough about all of us, to keep repeating himself and reminding us, over and over. Unfortunately, there will be millions (or billions) who ignore or don’t care about his warnings and offer of salvation. The beast/antichrist forces his mark on souls, whereas Jesus, gives us his mark. He doesn’t force himself on anyone who doesn’t’ want to be idenfied with him or his kingdom. Just as Jesus indicates what happens to “those who take the mark of the beast” (white throne judgement, lake of fire), He also indicates what happens to “those who do not take the mark of the beast”. We are victorious, live and reign with Christ for one thousand years, have harps of God, stand on a sea of glass, sit on thrones. What a contrast in eternal existence!
The Number of a Man (False Prophet, Beast, Mankind):
Revelation 13:18 clearly states that 666 is a number of a man … not a number of an angel, not a number of Satan, Devil, serpent or dragon, nor of any kind of reference to Babylon (city) or Mystery Babylon (false religion). The reference is literally to man (mankind), the beast/antichrist (a literal, physical man) and the false prophet (a literal, physical man) Each of them is judged to be extremely evil and each is therefore assigned a number of six (6) to represent the imperfection, sinfullness and evilness of man, before God. Combining the number of each type of man leads to 666, this number represents the consumation of evil, of the three men. The number three (3) denotes intensity and emphasis. The fact that the number six (6) is repeated three (3) times emphasizes the most intense evil that mankind, antichrist, and the false prophet collectively possess during the tribulation period. Evil doesn’t come any worse, or more intensly than this. Period. When the bible states an important reference to someone or something, the word of God is very specific and literal. There should be no confusion. To understand why the number six (6) represents evil, Verse 13:18 tells us to ‘count his number. When we read all of Revelation, we can literally ‘count’ (using your fingers, toes, abacus, etch-a-sketch, spreadsheet or notepad and pen) the number of sins or evil actions conducted by all of evil mankind, of the beast/antichrist and of the false prophet. Their evil footprints leave an evil, smelly trail in the mud and muck of the world, that can very easily be sniffed out, followed and counted. Are you excited to be a bloodhound and to begin sniffing out the clues!?
Let’s revisit the fact that evil is represented by the number six (6). And that there are three men (man) referenced as being intensely evil; mankind / the beast-antichrist / the false prophet. Each man is assigned the number six (6). The fact that there are three (3) men denotes God’s emphasis and intensity. Since there are three (3) men, there will be three, six’s (6). God’s mathematics not only have numerical values but also descriptive values. God’s mathematics not only express statistical truth, but also sequential, logical and descriptive truth. This is truth within truth, layer within layer, meaning within meaning.
Mankind (6) + beast/antichrist (6) + false prophet (6) = 666 (a literal number represented by the number 6, repeated three times in a linear row.)
