Christ’s 1,000 Year Millennial Reign on Earth

Here’s Hope:

Yes, the seven (7) total years known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a.k.a. the week of Jacob’s trouble) was a devastating time on earth. Literally, a living hell on earth. Very, very, very few people survived it. What is left of earth is physically in shambles. Cities lay in ruins. Ecosystems are destroyed. The planet earth appears close to being dead, let alone being in a position to sustain a prolonged regeneration of mankind. The entire planet looks like a war zone. Continents and coastlines appear to have been redrawn. Mountain ranges are gone. Islands are gone. The earth doesn’t look anything like what it did just a few, short seven (7) years ago.

What could possibly come next? More wrath? More destruction? The total and complete annihilation of the planet?

The answer is no, no and no. In Revelation 16:17, God says, “It is done.” He has finished pouring out the last vial of the last seven (7) vial plagues. No more wrath. It is time for the healing process to begin.

The Miraculous Happens (as foretold in the Bible’s book of Revelation):

At the end of the Tribulation, several things happened. Evil Babylon City was destroyed, the beast’s evil empire was destroyed, the beast and the false prophet were thrown into the lake of fire and brimestone. Satan was cast into the bottomles pit (maximum security prison) for 1,000 years. Christ defeated these enemies and evil men on The Great Day of the Lord (his second coming along with the battle of Armageddon). Those evil entities which would deceive the nations and mankind are gone from the earth. All that is left of man on earth is a small remnant of Jews and Gentiles scattered around the world. The saints of the Church Age were raptured/collected right before the onset of the Tribulation. The redeemed, martryed saints during the Tribulation have already been collected. The Jews have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. God has fulfilled his covenants, from antiquity, with the Jews. Jerusalem is now the center of the world. God next focuses on the judgement of nations, Christ’s Millennial reign on earth, the heavenly city New Jerusalem, the renewal and regeneration of both the earth and population of mankind, and the final, end judgement (white throne) of evil men. Oh, and Satan also meets his end.

Through Jesus Christ, God fulfills a number of prophecies conerning the world as a whole, and also fulfills a number of convenants promised to the Jewish nation and people from thousands of years earlier. Promised made. Promises kept. This is the final 1,000 year period in God’s divine 7,000 year plan or purpose for mankind on earth (but not the end).

1. Jesus Christ establishes his 1,000 year (Millennium) Kingdom on earth in the Jewish city of Jerusalem.

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Rev. 11:15). (Emphasis added).

… “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgements are made manifest.” (Rev. 15:4). (Emphasis added).

… “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almight God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Rev. 19:14-16). (Emphasis added).

Jesus Christ rules the earth and nations of the earth with a “rod of iron.” He won’t tolerate petty border disputes, he won’t tolerate nations coveting other nation’s natural resources, no dictatorships, no oppression of people at the hand of their government, war among nations will be a thing of the past (the prior 6,000 years). The 1,000 years of Christ’s reign on earth will bring peace. This will be the only time during the 7,000 years of man’s history that there will not be bloodshed among nations and peoples. Christ will rule with an iron fist by quickly and decidedly handling any dispute. His decisions will stand and not be bent or comprised through petty politics and power struggles among the leaders of nations. The nations that remain from the sheep and goat judgements are saved by Christ. Their kings are approved by Christ and are welcomed in the heavenly New Jerusalem. There will be no wishy-washy, bumbling, beauracratic, judgemental, biased United Nations group to contend with. Christ rules with an iron fist. No broken political treaties, no threatening political alliances or cartels. No terrorist groups or proxies funded by insane national leaders. No government or world leader/king who wants to rule the world. Jesus Christ is who is in position to rule the world rightly and justly, and with a firm command of events and decisions. His authority and power will be unquestioned and obeyed. As a result, the world will enjoy a 1,000 year golden period of peace, prosperity, longevity of life, a perfect ‘Eden-like’ living environment, significant increase in food production and heavenly medicine (leaves from the tree of life) to address medical ailments. I suspect that there will be a quantum leap in technology and in medicine. I believe knowledge will increase, but will be under the intense scrutiny of Christ. Nations will also come to Jerusalem to worship Jesus Christ, as his political seat and temple are in Jerusalem.

2. The judgement of the nations.

… “And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4). (Emphasis added).

… “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shephard divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (Matt. 25:31-34, 25:41 and 46). (Emphasis added).

… “And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it (new Jerusalem). (Rev. 21:24). (Emphasis added).

“And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it (new Jerusalem).” (Rev. 21:26). (Emphasis added).

The judgement of the nations is routinely regarded as the sheep and goat judgement. Nations that protected, aided, helped, feed, sheltered the Jewish remnant during the Tribulation period are considered sheep. Nations that persecutred, hunted, starved or imprisoned the Jewish remnant are considered goats. The sheep nations are spared and are intact during the Millennium. The goat nations which did not aid the Jewish remnant are thrown into the lake of fire. Christ still desires there to be nations and national sovereignty on earth during his 1,000 year reign. Because of the physical renewal and restructuring of the earth, along with the sheep/goat nation judgement, national borders will be completely rewritten by Christ. As we don’t know which nations will be considered sheep or which nations will be considered goats, we can’t know which countries’ sovereign borders will be redrawn. For thousands of years, empires have come and gone, their borders have come and gone. Countries have come and gone. Borders have been drawn and redrawn. The 1,000 year period of Christ’s earthly reign will see the same thing. The world, its physical appearance and nations’ borders will look absolutely nothing like what they do today. The only exception is the land that was promised by God to Israel thousands of years ago. The Jews will finally live securely in their God sanctioned land promised to them long, long ago. The bible also indicates the kings of the sheep nations will be welcomed in heavenly city, New Jerusalem. The kings will bring the honor and glory into the heavenly city. I suspect that once the nations’ sovereign borders are decided at the start of Christ’s Millennial kingdom, they will stay in tact (and not be changed or threatened) for the 1,000 years of his reign. I don’t believe any current country or past empire enjoyed a one thousand year period where it did not have its borders continuously redrawn or sovereingty threatened.

3. Redeemed and saved men (saints) from both the Church Age (preceding the Tribulation) and the Tribulation period itself (martryed saints), co-reign with Christ for 1,000 years over the nations on earth.

“And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father:” (Rev. 2:26-27). (Emphasis added).

… “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Rev. 5:10). (Emphasis added).

… “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. and her child was caught up up unto God, and to his throne.” (Rev. 12:5). (Emphasis added).

… “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:4). (Emphasis added).

… “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:5-6). (Emphasis added).

Co-reigning and ruling over the nations with Jesus Christ is one of the many blessings and promises made to his redeemed people throughout the ages. Since will see Christ as he is and since our character was perfected in/by Christ for eternity at the rapture/ressurection, we will be able obey and understand his leadership impeccably. His will is our will. His decisions will be our decisions. His decisions will be rightful and just, and we will follow suit. We will not be automatons. His decisions will be crystal clear to us and intelligently the right choice or discernment of the matter. It will be extremely evident and apparent of what the right thing is. We don’t need to question his decision or come to a consensus. We will just have to administer his decision to make it manifest among the nations and countries on earth. No doubting. No second guessing. The right decision for all parties concerned, will come straight out of the gate. Christ promised that his kingdom rulership would be shared with those who believed in him, trusted in him, accepted the forgiveness of their sins through him, believed in his death and resurrection. Co-ruling alongside Jesus Christ, is an unfathomable honor and blessing. For those Christians who have experienced intense persecution or oppression at the hands of their governments will have a very hard time understanding this. However, among them that are chosen to particpate in this co-reigning capacity will be joyful and thankful beyond belief. We don’t know how Christ will chose those whom he wants to co-rule with him. It is my hypothesis that at the Bema seat judgement, when Christ evaluates what each member did for his kingdom while on earth, some Christians will be rewarded in some manner by having a role in the management of his kingdom on earth. We know that there will be roles as “Priests and Kings” in his kingdom, but what exactly these roles will entail doing … we don’t know. But Christ will surprise us, and whatever the role is … it will be a blessing and honor to work along side him! Imagine, this is just one of many, many, many blessings and honor that await those who love Christ and God during Christ’s 1,000 year reign on earth from the city of Jerusalem in Israel.

4. The renewal, regeneration of planet earth and the population of mankind.

… “And I saw a new heaven and new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” (Rev. 21:1). (Emphasis added).

… “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” (Rev. 21:5). (Emphasis added).

… “In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” (Rev. 22:2). (Emphasis added).

… “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (Rev. 20:7-8). (Emphasis added).

…”  And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.” (Isaiah 65:19-21). (Emphasis added).

Men don’t have the wars, famines and pestilences to contend with. Lawlessless, terror, murdering are not running amoke. Men are living to be hundreds of years old, just as they were at the beginning in Genesis. Where there is sickness or ailment, leaves from the tree of life in New Jersusalem (heavenly city of saints) are given to men and nations down on earth due to their medicinal properties that heal fleshly, earthly bodies. The population of men on earth has re-grown into the billions or more “number of whom is as the sand of the sea”, by the end of the thousand years. Advances in agriculture will be made from increased investment that otherwise would have gone to weaponry development and construction (beating swords into plowshares). Because the planet has been renewed to an ‘Eden-like’ state, oxygen and moisture will all be at optimum eco-system levels for the growth of organics and plant based nutrition. Men on earth still have fleshly bodies that require to be feed in order to be sustained, regardless of how long they live on earth. Regardless, a man who lives to be less than 100 years old will be considered very unusual and somehow cursed because he died so young. The earliest generations in the Bible come from Genesis. We are told that Adam lived 930 years, Seth 912 years, Enos 905 years, Cainan 910 years, Mahalaleel 895 years, Jared 962 years, Enoch 365 years, Methuselah 969 years, Lamech 777 years, Noah 950 years, Shem 600 years. No wonder living to be only 100 years old during the Millennium will be considered to be a curse. Assuming men are able to live hundreds of years, and able to continue fathering children, it is easy to see mathematically how quickly and exponentially the population will increase from the decimated population levels that resulted from the Tribulation and Great Tribulation period. The 1,000 year reign of Christ will usher in a golden period of prosperity, health, very large family trees (to say the least) and a living environment that will equal that of Eden, which existed at the beginning of God’s creation. Since men on earth will still die, they will need to continue to procreate. They will still experience health issues and need medicine. Since men will travel to Jerusalem to worship Jesus Christ, they will need transportation. Men on earth will NOT have the glorifed, spiritual bodies received by those redeemed in the Church Age at the rapture/resurrection, or the Tribulation Age. Men in physical bodies will live on earth. Redeemed men in Christ will live in glorified bodies, in the heavenly, new Jerusalem (1,500 x 1,500 x 1,500 cubic miles).

5. Satan’s last and final rebellion.

… “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having a key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” (Rev. 20:1-3). (Emphasis added).

… “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimestone, where the beast and false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Rev. 20:7-10). (Emphasis added).

… “And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4). (Emphasis added).

At this point (end of the 1,000 year Millennial period), the earth has already been renewed to a pristine, ‘Eden-like’ state and men have repopulated the earth to the point of billions of people (the number of whom is as the sand of the sea). This is a golden period, one that has never existed on earth. Why would God allow Satan, of all creatures, to “be loosed for a season” and allowed to escape his 1,000 year imprisonment in the maximum spiritual security prison known as the bottomless pit? God knows that Satan’s character hasn’t changed in 1,000 years. God knows that Satan will once again try to stir up trouble and deceive men. Why go through this all over again. The planet is humming in perfect symmetry and balance. Christ is ruling. People are thriving. Wars are a very distant memory taught in history books. Why let Satan out? I believe there are a couple of answers to this. One answer is hidden in the hearts of men alive and living on the earth at the end of the 1,000 year period. Even though they live in the most perfect environment designed by God for their benefit, health and enjoyment, the element of sin still resides in them. As in the previous 7,000 years, men want to be control of their own destiny, they want to be beholden to themselves, they want to rule themselves, they don’t want to have to account to someone else (Jesus Christ). Satan has known this for 7,000 years. Once again, as he is “loosed for a short season” and he tempts men to rally around him to overthrow Christ in Jerusalem. Surprisingly, Satan enrolls a very large number of men “the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.” and encompasses Jerusalem to attack. Before anything even happens, “fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.” This last, final rebellious attempt by Satan is over before it starts. He gets cast into the lake of fire and brimestone, where the beast and false prophet are. Elsewhere in this book, I go into great detail revealing why these men want to confront Jesus Christ and who their ancestors are today!

What is the point? What is the lesson learned by man? Despite living in a perfect world for 1,000 years, man still had sin in his heart. He is still rebellious in nature. He still allowed himself to be deceived, despite Jesus Christ physically being present and ruling on earth. It is likely that men resented Christ’s authority, power and righteousness. In any case, they do what men have done for the prior 7,000 years. They give in to Satan, instead of to the rightful one on the throne in the earthly city of Jerusalem in Israel. Even in a perfect, peaceful environment, men still harbor resentment and a rebellious nature. God knows that physical man hasn’t changed. The indwelt sin nature was carried over by the remnant of people who survived the Tribulation and started the re-populaton process. Just as the nature of sin was passed on by Adam to his decendants, the nature of sin is passed on to future generations in the final Millennium by those coming out of the Tribulation. This lesson is for those on earth at the end of the 1,000 year millenial reign of Christ. This lesson is for those redeemed living in the heavenly New Jerusalem. People may have become complacent. The final rebellion of Satan and those consumed by fire who enrolled with him, shows the continued need for Christ to be the leader of men. Given unto themselves, men will still find a way to do that which is wrong, even when they have no reason to be discontent. Men on earth will still need the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Satan’s “loose for a season” rebellion and those men destroyed with him serve as an example to those who are watching on the earth and in heaven. Christ still needs to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, even thousands of years from now and for eternity.

6. White throne judgement of evil men from all of history.

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found not place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:11-15). (Emphasis added).

The evil dead from all of history are resurrected at the end of 1,000 year period and judged at the white throne judgement by Christ of their evil works and rejection of Christ’s offer of salvation. Hence, they are found to NOT be in the Lamb’s book of life and are cast into the lake of fire and brimestone, the second death. The lake of fire and brimestone also is the final place for Satan, the beast and the antichrist. Rev. 20:14 also indicates that as God is cleaning up evil, he casts hell and death into the lake of fire. It comes down to this; men had their individual chances for over 7,000 years to repent and accept Christ’s offer of salvation, through the forgiveness of their sins, his blood and resurrection. For whatever personal, individual reasons, these men did not choose Christ. Instead, they purposelly chose Satan, and his false lies. They made their free, conscious choices. Thus, ultimately, they end up in the lake of fire and brimestone along with Satan, the beast and the antichrist. They made their choice to be with Satan in their life on earth, and thus they are with Satan for eternity. They received what they chose. Christ did not force this on them. They made their decision freely and willingly. Many even took his mark, number or name during the Tribulation. Many worshipped Satan as God. Christ offered to save them from sin and Satan, yet … they wanted nothing to do with Christ or his free offer. These men are paying a price for their decision for eternity, in the lake of fire and brimestone (the second death). They died physically once and went to hell, they were resurrected by God to be judged according to their works and were thusly sent to a second death in the lake of fire and brimestone.

7. The new Heavenly Jerusalem.

… “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God which is new Jerusalem, which commeth down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.” (Rev. 3:12). (Emphasis added).

New Jerusalem is described with a double of twelve. There are twelve (12) distinct numerical or measurement references that describe the physical, structural nature of new Jerusalem. There are also twelve (12) descriptive references regarding the holy and righteous nature of the city. Combining both groups of twelve references nets a total of 24 references or descriptions. Twenty-four denotes God’s abundant or doubled organizational arrangement.

WOW! What a city! The New Jerusalem is built with the rarest and most precious of materials in the universe that could only come from heaven and God in order to properly represent his glory. Shining precious stones, a type of luminous, transparent gold utilized entirely throughout the internal structure of the city. The New Jerusalem is described as being 12,000 furlongs on each side which is aproximately equal to 1,500 miles. Thus, the city is 1,500 miles wide – 1,500 miles long – 1,500 miles high. Its length, breadth and height are equal. The description suggests two possible geometric shapes, that of being either a cube or pyramid that could house several billion redeemed souls or glorified bodies. Each one of the twelve foundations of the city are named after one of Christ’s Apostles and the twelve gates are named after one of the Tribes of Israel. (Revelation 21:12, 14). The wall is measured as 144 cubits high, which translates into 240 feet high. (144 cubits x 20”per cubit = 2,880” / 12” per foot = 240 feet). Even the height of the wall of the new Jerusalem is a divine multiple of 12 (twelve) or 24 (twenty-four).

The New Jerusalem is the capital city of heaven and the center of God’s universe. Jesus prepared the New Jerusalem to become the home of the saints. Jesus promised (John 14:2): “in My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” In Revelation 2:7, Jesus described the heavenly home of the Church as follows: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”  This tree of life will be present in the midst of New Jerusalem forever, and it is there to remind us that our life is dependent upon the gifts of God. In Revelation 22:2 the Bible tells us that “in the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

This heavenly city is called the New Jerusalem to indicate its special place in the heart of God, similar to His love for the earthly city Jerusalem in Israel. Because God will actually dwell with His saints in new Jerusalem, John calls the New Jerusalem “the tabernacle of God”. Revelation 21:3 promises: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.” God calls it “the heavenly Jerusalem” to distinguish it from the earthly city of Jerusalem. Currently, the New Jerusalem exists in heaven. At the end of 1,000 year millennium, the New Jerusalem will descend down to the earth as it “comes down out of heaven.’ In Revelation 3:12, John described “the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God.”  The New Jerusalem will be constantly illuminated by the supernatural light of God’s presence. The supernatural light will infuse the holy city eliminating the need for light from the sun. “And there shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light.” (Revelation 22:5). The need for no natural sunlight only applies to the New Jerusalem. Other passages reveal that night and day will still continue on the earth forever suggesting that the sun will continue to exist for the benefit of earth’s inhabitants and the earthly city of Jerusalem.
