Saudi Arabia’s NEOM has unveiled a new progress video showing rapid development being made on the mega business and tourism project, with more than 140,000 construction workers developing key regions across the futuristic site.
The progress film shows real-world footage of the large-scale construction across the mega site and revealed its workforce has doubled over the past year.
Key regions – THE LINE, Oxagon, Sindalah and Trojena – are rapidly gathering pace, according to the footage unveiled in the video.
The three-minute video vision, entitled ‘NEOM in Progress’, shows how Saudi Arabia’s masterplan is becoming a step toward reality every day.
“NEOM is accelerating human progress. A new future is coming. This proud Saudi project for the world is progressing fast. Significant construction work is already complete. We are developing the first phase of our cognitive city THE LINE.” It said work continues at “the reimaged industrial city Oxagon, our mountain destination Trojena, luxury island Sindalah and Gulf of Aqaba destinations.”
It said “a new future is emerging” across 14 sectors; food manufacturing, entertainment and culture, tourism, sport, design and construction, financial services, health and well-being, education, energy, water, mobility, technology and digital, and media.
It showed progress outside the Kingdom’s borders, with new offices in London and New York designed to create global partners and business opportunities.
More than 100 nationalities are now involved in NEOM’s diverse workforce, according to the video.
It said NEOM is helping develop game-changing innovations such as cell-cultured seafood, autonomous cars, electric sea gliders, and self-service e-gates at NEOM Bay Airport.
It also unveiled progress on NEOM’s new luxury island Sindalah which is set to rival top global tourist destinations such as the likes of Monaco and Athens with its year-long luxury offerings. There, guests can expect to see a world-class yachting destination curated by a famed Italian designer, three mega luxury hotels, a golf course, an array of restaurants and an international luxury retail offering dubbed ‘The Village,’ which will be home to 51 luxury retail outlets.
The video also showed work underway at the mountain destination Trojena – the megacity’s snow-capped district, which will be the first major outdoor skiing destination in the GCC and will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games – the first nation in western Asia to do so – with more than 32 countries due to take part.
It also showed progress made on Saudi Arabia’s revolutionary THE LINE project – a 170km -long city to eventually house up to nine million people and which will be the heartbeat of NEOM.
The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is also developing and has received its first wind turbines at the Port of NEOM. The $8.4 billion green hydrogen production plant aims to put the Kingdom on the global map for clean energy transition. The plant will be operational in 2026 under the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company.

In the entertainment sector, major TV and film production are also being filmed at the mega site, with Tomb Raider film director Simon West making an epic feature Antara against the backdrop of the dramatic landscapes at NEOM.
“NEOM is happening now, at the crossroad of three continents,” said spokespeople in the video. “We are open for business.” This video is the latest film in an ongoing series showing key milestones and progress in the development of NEOM.
