The US Government has become politically divided and is in discord and disunity. The political division affecting and splitting America is a direct result of its efforts to ‘divide Jerusalem’ via the regional covenant of ‘peace and security’ (Normalization) in the Middle East. Throughout scripture, God has made it abundantly clear that Jerusalem is the ‘apple of his eye’ and has his stamp of ownership on it … above all other cities on earth. ISRAEL – An unusual total solar eclipse that will traverse North America in April has some biblical experts pointing to a deeper significance of the event, especially in light of today’s extremely unsettled times.

With a deep understanding of classical Jewish and Christian sources, Pastor Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries is sharing his insights into the upcoming solar eclipse that will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024.

The total eclipse will pass over Mexico from the Pacific Ocean at around 11:07 a.m. PDT and continue over the United States, starting in the Southwest and moving northeast until it passes over the shore of the northeast U.S. in northern Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. The eclipse will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada, at 5:16 p.m. NDT.

It will be the first solar eclipse visible in the continental U.S. since Aug. 21, 2017, and the only total solar eclipse in the 21st century where the totality will be visible in Mexico, the United States and Canada. It will also be the last total solar eclipse visible in the contiguous United States for the next two decades – until Aug. 23, 2044.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between earth and the sun, thereby obscuring the image of the sun for a viewer on earth. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon’s apparent diameter (as seen from earth) is larger than the sun’s, blocking all direct sunlight and turning day into darkness. As it happens, the moon will make the month’s closest approach to earth (just 223,000 miles) one day before the total solar eclipse, thereby appearing its largest on the day it crosses between the earth and the sun. Total eclipse occurs only in a narrow path across the earth’s surface, with the partial solar eclipse visible over a surrounding region thousands of miles wide.

In the Bible, solar events are recorded as having a remarkable and sometimes supernatural significance. Control over the sun was demonstrated by God in the three-day Plague of Darkness, and is prophesied to be an essential part of the End Times. The Prophet Joel (2:31) predicted, “The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.” The Prophet Amos makes a similar prediction: “And in that day – declares my God – I will make the sun set at noon, I will darken the earth on a sunny day.”

In giving rebuke to Hezekiah to inform him that he would die from his illness, the prophet Isaiah (13:9) wrote, “The stars and constellations of heaven shall not give off their light; The sun shall be dark when it rises, And the moon shall diffuse no glow.” As Isaiah predicted – and as much later calculated by NASA – on March 5 in 702 BC, the 16th year before Hezekiah’s death, a prominent solar eclipse appeared over the Middle East. Its path crossed the Arabian Peninsula and the obscuration of the sun over Israel was more than 60 percent.

A similar darkness is described in the New Testament after Jesus’ crucifixion (Mark 15: 32-33) and again in Revelation 6:12 as a sign of the End Times.

Biltz, the author of “Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs,” is an expert in both Christian and Jewish sources, and correlates solar and lunar eclipses with biblical prophecy. He went to great lengths to explain the prophetic implications of the 2017 solar eclipse, though at the time, skeptics scoffed at his explanations.

However, in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, far fewer objections are to be heard in advance of the upcoming 2024 solar eclipse.

“From a biblical point of view, a solar eclipse is meant to be a sign from God,” said Biltz, citing Genesis 1:14. “It is a sign that is beyond man’s control, something he cannot manipulate.” Biltz has a love of both the Bible and astronomy and takes on this biblical verse as a personal service, struggling to understand the celestial signs. In 2008, he was studying the dates of the solar eclipses:

“If you refer to NASA’s data, there’s been a total of 12,000 total solar eclipses [NWN; ‘12’ is God’s Divine Number denoting His ‘Governance of/over the Earth’] all over the world listed over a 5,000-year time period,” said Biltz [NWN; in this case ‘5’ is God’s Divine Number denoting his Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and other Divine Attributes’ of Governance]. “I don’t know if you realize this, but … then there are several different types of solar eclipses and lunar eclipses – your total, your partial, your penumbral, yeah, no hybrid, different types. And so, I did the math, and it’s pretty simple to do.” “And so, when I saw those, I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, when was the last time this happened?”

With a bit of research, Biltz discovered that a solar eclipse took place in 1948, the year Israel declared itself a nation, and again in 1967, when Israel emerged victorious from the Six-Day War and unified Jerusalem. With a little more research, he discovered another solar eclipse in 1492, the year the Jews were expelled from Spain and Portugal. Remarkably, a partial solar eclipse appeared above both Rome and Jerusalem in 67 AD. One year later, Nero committed suicide and in the year 70, the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans.

Intrigued by these convergent facts, Pastor Biltz was puzzled by the appearance of four blood moons in 2014-2015. If the celestial events were signs, what did the blood moons signify? In an epiphany, he realized that the celestial signs were part of a much larger cycle based in the Hebrew calendar. The Hebrew year that began on Rosh Hashanah in September 2014 marked the beginning of a seven (7) -year Shemitah (sabbatical) cycle.

“This is not a random seven-year cycle,” Biltz emphasized. “Rosh Hashanah in 2014 marked the beginning of the Hebrew year 5775. The Shemittah years all go back to Creation. If you divide 5775 by 7, it is precisely 825. September 2014, or, more accurately, the first of Tishrei 5775, was the 825th Shemittah cycle since God created the world.”

After connecting the blood moons to the Shemitah cycle, Biltz realized they had prophetic significance: They came as a sign to herald war.

“The Yom Kippur War in 1973 was followed by four blood moons in 1968 and happened on the very day of the beginning of the 50-year Jubilee cycle,” Biltz said. “In 2014, we had four blood moons which preceded the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, exactly one Shemitah cycle later. It fell on the holy day of Shemini Atzeret and on the last day of the High Holidays. Hamas attacked Israel and started the Iron Swords War. That was the last day of that 50-year Jubilee cycle that began in 1973 with the Yom Kippur War.”

Pastor Biltz noted the upcoming solar eclipse will take place on Rosh Chodesh Nisan, the new moon marking the beginning of the month which is referred to in the Bible as “the first month.”

“That is the very beginning of the religious calendar,” he said. “It is the very day God’s glory fell on Moses’ tabernacle. It’s the Inauguration Day of Moses’ tabernacle. It’s also the same day, though, that day Nadav and Avihu died for offering strange incense.

“The first of Nisan has a huge biblical meaning. It’s the beginning. And just like it’s the beginning of the inauguration of the tabernacle, I believe it’s going to be the beginning of judgment upon America.”

“And Rosh Chodesh Nisan was the beginning of the three days of darkness in Egypt,” Biltz added. “The nice thing about eclipses is that no false prophet can fake it, like Pharaoh in Egypt trying to have his magicians multiply the frogs. An eclipse speaks in every language. It doesn’t have to be translated. It is a uniquely powerful sign from God.”

Pastor Biltz referred to the Talmud in its discussion of eclipses (Sukkot 29a) which specifically described solar eclipses as being a bad omen for the nations who base their calendars on the solar cycle. The Talmud states that if an eclipse appeared in the West, it is a sign that idol worship has prevailed.

At the end of its section describing the omens contained within eclipses, the Talmud states a disclaimer: “When Israel does the will of God, they have nothing to fear from all of this,” citing the Prophet Jeremiah as a source.

“Do not learn to go the way of the nations, And do not be dismayed by portents in the sky; Let the nations be dismayed by them!” (Jeremiah 10:2)

Eclipse path to converge on ‘Little Egypt’

Interestingly, April’s eclipse will have a narrow path roughly 115 miles wide which will cross the path of the total solar eclipse of 2017, with the intersection of the two paths being in southern Illinois – in the town of Makanda, just south of Carbondale. The spectacle will last up to 4 minutes, 28 seconds in the path of total darkness – twice as long as the total solar eclipse of 2017.

The paths of the two eclipses form a transcontinental ‘X.’ In a strange coincidence, the only spot in the path of both eclipses, receiving a double-dose of this modern plague of darkness, and the point of the longest duration for both eclipses, is a particular part of southern Illinois, known appropriately enough as Little Egypt.

The complete solar eclipse that transversed the continental United States in August 2017 ushered in the most devastating hurricane season in U.S. history. Four days after the eclipse, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Texas, the first major hurricane to do so in over a decade. The hurricane resulted in unprecedented flooding that prompted more than ‘13’,000 rescues, displaced more than 30,000 people and inundated hundreds of thousands of homes. At least 38 confirmed deaths were attributed to the hurricane and damages were estimated at up to $160 billion.

On April 8, a total solar eclipse will transverse the continental US, passing from the southwest California border with Mexico and crossing to the northwestern United States. While skeptics claim this astronomical phenomenon has no spiritual significance, others note that the last eclipse that transversed the United States ushered in a catastrophic hurricane season, the global COVID epidemic, the war in Ukraine, and the horrific Hamas attack on Israel. Such a series of events has led many to take note of the upcoming eclipse which takes place on the first day of Nisan, the first month of the Biblical calendar that also marks the beginning of the redemption from Egypt.

Salem was the Biblical name for Jerusalem before King David made it his capital. Abraham visited Malkitzedek, the King of Salem (Genesis 14:18–20). The name Malkitzedek (My King Is Righteousness) hints at a belief in the God of Israel.

The eclipse will also cross over a location named “Nineveh” in the province of Nova Scotia in Canada.

It is interesting to note that a solar eclipse known as the Bur-Sagale eclipse took place on 15 June 763 BCE, passing over the Assyrian capital city of Nineveh in the middle of the reign of Jeroboam II, who ruled Israel from 786 to 746.  According to 2 Kings 14:25, the prophet Jonah lived and prophesied in Jeroboam’s reign. The biblical scholar Donald Wiseman has speculated that the eclipse took place around when Jonah arrived in Nineveh and urged the people to repent.

As the son of the scion of the Mishkoltz Hasidic dynasty and a descendant of King David, Rabbi Yosef Berger circulates among many hidden righteous men and is privy to their thoughts. He emphasized that the eclipse will take place on the first day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the month in which the Jews left Egypt.

“It is undeniable that we are on the verge of the Final Redemption,” Rabbi Berger said. “But most people either don’t understand what that means or deny the obvious. Nisan is the first month of the Biblical year. All of the kabbalists and hidden righteous men know that after the beginning of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the entire order of Creation will change in preparation for the final redemption. Seven years ago, people scoffed when they said this, but the world has gone through so much, changed so much in that time.”

Rabbi Berger noted the connection to Nineveh.

“Just as God sent Jonah to warn Nineveh, He is sending this eclipse as a warning to the nations,” Rabbi Berger said. “Just as the people of Nineveh had to repent in a set amount of time, the nations have a limited amount of time to perform acts of repentance.”

Towards this end, Rabbi Berger established a charity to give Pidyon Nefesh, a donation, that “redeems” the nefesh, or soul. The money becomes an exchange for the life of the person, since money and the nefesh are one aspect. 

“Just like the eclipse in 2017 ushered in the COVID epidemic, the war in Ukraine, and the horrific attack on Israel and the war on Hamas, this eclipse will mark the beginning of greater changes that will overturn the order of the world. But by the time people realize that the geula (redemption) is beginning, it will be too late.”

The same source in the Talmud specifies that lunar eclipses are a bad omen for Israel since Israel is spiritually represented by the moon. If the lunar eclipse takes place in the east side of the heavens, then it is a bad omen for all the nations in the east, and similarly, if it occurs in the western hemisphere of the sky, it is a bad sign for all the nations in the west.

A solar eclipse can only occur because the sun and the moon appear to be the same in diameter as seen from the earth. This is due to a coincidence that is unique and has not been found anywhere else in the galaxy. Though the sun is about 400 times farther away than the moon, the sun is also about 400 times bigger. If the distances or sizes were different than they actually are, eclipses would not take place.

The Talmud relates to this, explaining why the sun and the moon appear to be the same size. The Talmud (Hulin 60b) discusses the seeming contradiction in the verse describing the creation of the sun and the moon.

Hashem made the two great lights, the greater light to dominate the day and the lesser light to dominate the night, and the stars. Genesis 1:16

Though initially described in equal terms, the verse then noted the sun and the moon were not equal, with the sun being called the “greater light” and the moon the “lesser light”. The Talmud explains that when God created the sun and the moon they were equal in every manner, including size and intensity. The moon complained, saying, “Two kings cannot share one crown.” God agreed and made the moon shine less intensely, compensating the moon by commanding Israel to set the calendar by its cycles.

Jewish mysticism explains that this slight to the moon will be rectified at the end of days when the sun and the moon will be equal in both size and intensity.

The Great American Eclipse of 2024 is truly going to be a once in a lifetime event.  A few days ago, I wrote about how this eclipse will pass over 7 locations named “Ninevah” as it moves across our country.   Since I wrote that article, I have also learned that the eclipse will go over a location in Texas named “Jonah” too.  That is pretty incredible, but what I have to share with you today is even more amazing.  

Since the Great American Eclipse of 2017, we have been waiting for the Great American Eclipse of 2024, and now it is less than 2 months away. On April 8th, the Great American Eclipse of 2024 will complete the giant “X” over America that the Great American Eclipse of 2017 started.  Amazingly, on that exact day the seven other planets in our solar system will “line up” in the sky. This is an extremely rare event, and it will never be seen again.

So why am I so concerned about what is going on in the heavens?

In Luke 21:25, Jesus specifically told us that we should watch for “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars” just prior to His return. And what I have to share with you today is absolutely amazing. During the month of April, so many things are going to be happening in the heavens. Let me start with things that are commonly known. On April 4th, just 4 days before the Great American Eclipse of 2024, there will be a “planetary alignment” that will involve 4 planets…

The next planetary alignment takes place on April 4, 2024. It will feature four planets – Venus, Neptune, Saturn, and Mars. The planets will align in the morning sky. Venus, Saturn, and Mars will be visible to the naked eye, but you’ll need a telescope or high-powered binoculars to see Neptune. Half of the planets in our solar system will be aligned on that day, and that is pretty remarkable.

In addition, there will be 4 “planetary conjunctions” during the month of April.

On April 3, at 10:53 GMT (06:53 a.m. ET), Venus (mag -3.8) will pass 0°17′ of Neptune (mag 8.0) in the constellation Pisces. Venus is visible with the naked eye, but Neptune requires a telescope or binoculars with good magnification. From the Northern Hemisphere, the conjunction will be difficult to see because the planets will be too close to the eastern horizon in the morning. From the Southern Hemisphere, the event will be slightly easier to see as the planets will be higher above the eastern horizon.

On April 10, at 18:46 GMT (2:46 p.m. ET), Mars (mag 1.2) will pass 0°24′ from Saturn (mag 1.1) in the constellation Aquarius. Both planets will be visible to the naked eye. Observers in the Southern Hemisphere will be able to see the planets high above the eastern horizon in the morning. In the Northern Hemisphere, the view will be poorer as the planets will be closer to the eastern horizon, rising just before sunrise.

On April 20, at 07:30 GMT (03:30 a.m. ET), Jupiter (mag -2.0) and Uranus (mag 5.8) will meet in the constellation Aries. The distance between the planets will be only 0°31′. Observe the planets in the evening, low above the western horizon, just after sunset. This conjunction will be better seen from the Northern Hemisphere; in the Southern Hemisphere, Jupiter and Uranus will be very low. Don’t forget to bring binoculars to see Uranus — this planet is too faint for the naked eye, especially from light-polluted cities.

On April 29, at 04:01 GMT (12:01 a.m. ET), Mars (mag 1.1) will pass extremely close to Neptune (mag 7.9) in the constellation Pisces. The apparent distance between the planets will be only 2’14” — even the distance between Jupiter and Saturn during the Great Conjunction in 2020 was greater (6.1 arcminutes). The conjunction of Mars and Neptune will be much less spectacular, however, because Neptune is too faint to be visible to the naked eye. Grab a pair of binoculars or a telescope and look for the duo in the east in the morning. Observers in the Southern Hemisphere will have a better view.

But everything that I have just shared with you pales in comparison to a discovery that has been made by Rachel Baxter. In addition to our planet, there are 7 other recognized planets in our solar system. In January, all 7 of those planets, along with the sun and the moon, began to “line up” in the sky.

This is different from a “planetary alignment”.  During a “planetary alignment”, several planets appear to be stacked behind one another as one looks out from the Earth. But in this case, the other planets in our solar system are actually forming a straight line in the sky. This is how Rachel explained it in an email that she sent me…

Beginning in January, 2024 an alignment of the other 7 planets began to take shape and will continue through mid-May. Opposite the earth – when looking from Jerusalem to the East (which I believe is the way the Lord “keeps time” with His planets) all 7 recognized planets will line up in 3 constellations of Pisces, Aries and Taurus. They will look to be in a line (not what people commonly think of as a planetary alignment where the planets disappear into one bright light from our viewpoint.)

On April 8th, the sun, the moon and the other planets in our solar system will appear to form a straight line in the sky when looking out from Jerusalem toward the east. The following is from a graphic that Rachel sent to me…

I want to thank Rachel for allowing me to share this remarkable information with all of you. Rachel asked ChatGPT how frequently the planets line up like this, and she was told that it would only happen once in 19 million years. And when she included the sun and the moon, she was told that it would only happen once in 32 million years… When I asked ChatGPT about a month ago to calculate the frequency that this line up of planets would happen, it responded with 1 in 19 million years. Because the moon and sun will also be aligned, I asked the frequency of this and it said 1 in 32 million years.

More recently, she asked ChatGPT 4.0 about this, and she was told that it was a “once in a lifetime spectacle”… Today, I asked ChatGPT4.0 more detailed questions in different ways and got responses from “once in a lifetime spectacle” to more than one in a billion years. The safe answer is that this will not happen again in our lifetime! God’s story in the stars is speaking and we ought to listen! Interestingly, looking out from the perspective of the sun on April 8th several of the planets will actually form a “V”…

So what does all of this mean? I don’t know. But I do believe that very unusual things are happening in the heavens right now. And Jesus did warn us that there would be “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars” in the days just before His return. We truly are living in Biblical times, and I expect global events to really accelerate once the winter is over.

Commentary; the rider is the ‘beast’ or ‘antichrist’. His being clothed in white suggests ‘3’ false righteousness, false peace and false authority. He has a bow, but no arrows. He rules with lies and threats, but no military or arms. He conquers and subjugates, not with force but with ‘5’ lies, deception, false covenants and false agreements and false promises. He is the world’s greatest ‘political’ leader and deceiver. He is the one who ‘confirms the false covenant of seven years with Jacob’ which starts the tribulation. You should know now of who I speak. His ‘crown’ represents authority, rulership and position. It even literally represents his ‘position’ as Crown Prince, once the tribulation begins. My discernment is that the ‘white horse upon which he sits’ is symbolically a white Arabian stallion.
