They claim that the only path to peace is the establishment of a Palestinian State, which would divide both the Land and Jerusalem.

“In the end, Gaza is dead; Long live Sinwar.” That was the headline of an article by Saudi researcher and journalist Mohammed al-Saeed referring to Hamas’ leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.

In the article, which was published Monday in the Saudi daily Okaz, Al-Saeed was sharply critical of Hamas’ leaders both inside and outside of Gaza, who he said are just waiting for the signing of an agreement on “the separation of forces between Israel and Hamas,” as described the hoped for outcome of talks that are at least theoretically taking place between Israel and Hamas through the mediation of a number of countries.

When the deal is signed, “Ismail Haniyeh, Khaled Mashal and Moussa Abu Marzouk will emerge from their hotels and declare divine victory,” Al-Saeed wrote, referring to Hamas’ leadership outside of Gaza. “They will compete with Yahya Sinwar lest he steal a historic moment from them. And Sinwar will emerge from the hole he’s been hiding in, carried on the shoulders of his associates, who will protect him from the fury of Gaza’s residents, the ones who lost their loved ones, their homes and secure lives due to Sinwar’s October 7 whim,” a reference to the Hamas attack on Israeli border communities that sparked the current war.

“Sinwar’s supporters will carry him on their broad shoulders after he loads 30,000 corpses on the miserable shoulders of Gaza’s residents. It will be a spurious victory, but you have to believe that in the Muslim Brotherhood’s dictionary and in the lexicon of the ‘axis of resistance,’ defeat is victory, disappointment is joy, the shattered bodies strewn on Gaza’s streets are a bridge toward solving the Palestinian problem and the donations are solely to the credit of the fighting forces. Life for them, death to the others,” Al-Saeed wrote.

This isn’t the first time that Al-Saeed was at the center of discourse in Saudi Arabia and in the Arab media more generally with trenchant articles that also don’t spare other Arab leaders and other Arab countries. A year ago, he wrote another highly controversial article entitled “Why do they hate us?” in which he assailed Arab leaders for their criticism of Saudi Arabia.

“Many peoples in the Middle East live on hate, envy and ingratitude,” he wrote. “Arab countries such as Iraq and Syria, Yemen and Egypt haven’t managed to create even one nation-state that can build itself.” A short time later, the editor of Okaz, Jameel Altheyabi, decided to remove the article from the newspaper’s website. But the article about Hamas, which also includes ridicule of the Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, is still on the website.

The newspaper, which was founded in 1960, is closely associated with the Saudi royal court. Altheyabi has been its editor for many years, and if he thought Al-Saeed’s article would displease his boss, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, it wouldn’t have seen the light of day.

While earlier issuing weak declarations about the need to “improve the lives of Palestinians,” Saudi Arabia now has to support the firm demand by the Palestinians and President Joe Biden’s initiative to find a diplomatic solution to the Palestinian issue through a two-state solution – or at least to take irreversible steps leading to such a solution.

It is condemning what it deems an Israeli massacre in Gaza and is demanding an immediate cease-fire. Saudi Arabia is among the countries leading the Arab and international effort to find a diplomatic solution.

From a prior situation in which a normalization agreement was about to have been signed that would have included vague “Palestinian conditions,” the prospect of normalization of relations with Israel now provides leverage aimed at achieving concrete, tactical goals: a cease-fire, increased humanitarian aid for Gaza and a transfer of civilian control in the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Authority. Normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia is also one of the topics that National Unity Party leader Benny Gantz planned to discuss with his American hosts, who wish to understand from him what Israel’s plan is for continuing the fighting and particularly how Gaza will be managed not after the war is over but in the near term, assuming that the war continues.

“The normalization isn’t dead yet,” a Western diplomat who is familiar with the substance of the American-Israeli dialogue told Haaretz. “One could say that the Saudis have placed the issue in American hands as a tool to be used to promote diplomatic moves that Israel is not yet ready to embrace.”

The Saudis realize that an independent Palestinian state will not be established tomorrow, and it doesn’t expect Israel to announce a timetable for withdrawal from the occupied territories. Riyadh is directing its pressure mainly at Washington, from which, beyond a permanent cease-fire in Gaza, it is demanding a presidential decision that would demonstrate an American commitment to establish an independent Palestinian state. That might include a widescale international conference on the future of such a state.

The Biden administration, which already took a significant step by declaring that any expansion of settlements in the West Bank is a violation of international law, still views the two-state solution as the ultimate way of ending the conflict with the Palestinians. But such a formula doesn’t constitute a diplomatic workplan and doesn’t come close to the detailed formula presented by President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century.”

The Saudis, as well as the Palestinians, realize that if President Biden does come out with an “irreversible” diplomatic decision, its value will only last as long as his term on office does. But that might still satisfy the Saudis, assuming that in the process, the Americans prevent the continuation of the war, consolidate a cease-fire and most importantly, make Israel agree to a renewed presence of the Palestinian Authority in Gaza.

In coordination with Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, Egypt would apparently then be ready to provide significant funding for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, on the condition that Hamas is not part of the Palestinian administration. It would later be possible to resume normalization talks and at the same time bring about the signing of the defense pact between Saudi Arabia and the United States and confirmation of the terms for the development of a Saudi nuclear program. Such a course of action depends entirely on Israel’s willingness to embrace it and on the assumption that Israel still views normalization of relations with the Saudis as a suitable strategic compensation.

Such an assumption could be dashed given the real chance that the adoption of the plan would break up Netanyahu’s governing coalition. Normalization with the Saudis would then cease to be a catalyst and the Biden administration could then decide to promote Saudi ambitions that suit American interests, even in the absence of normalized relations with Israel.

Commentary; the rider is the ‘beast’ or ‘antichrist’. His being clothed in white suggests ‘3’ false righteousness, false peace and false authority. He has a bow, but no arrows. He rules with lies and threats, but no military or arms. He conquers and subjugates, not with force but with ‘5’ lies, deception, false covenants and false agreements and false promises. He is the world’s greatest ‘political’ leader and deceiver. He is the one who ‘confirms the false covenant of seven years with Jacob’ which starts the tribulation. You should know now of who I speak. His ‘crown’ represents authority, rulership and position. It even literally represents his ‘position’ as Crown Prince, once the tribulation begins. My discernment is that the ‘white horse upon which he sits’ is symbolically a white Arabian stallion.

The infamous, “Mark of the Beast” and “number of his name is 666” imagery is no different than any of the other generalized, descriptive terms that John the Apostle used, while in his banishment on the Isle of Patmos. Rev. 13:17-18 is probably the most symbolic, well known and most poorly understood two verses in the book of Revelation, and in the entire Bible. “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man: and his number is Six hundred, threescore and six (666).” (Emphasis added).

(6) The Number of an Evil Man:

Verse 13:18 clearly states that 666 (6) is a number of a man … not a number of an angel, not a number of Satan (which is ‘5’), Devil, serpent or dragon, nor of any kind of reference to Babylon (city) or Mystery Babylon (false religion). 

The reference is literally to man (mankind), the beast/antichrist (a literal, physical man) and the false prophet (a literal, physical man). 

666 – The ‘Number’ of an Evil Man, Evil Beast and Evil False Prophet.

Each of them is judged to be extremely evil and each is therefore assigned a number of six (6) to representthe imperfection, sinfulness and evilness of man, before God. 

Combining the number of each type of man leads to 666, this (6) number represents the totality of evil, of the three men. ‘7’ The number three (3) denotes intensity and emphasis. The fact that the number six (6) is repeated three (3) times emphasizes the most intense evil that mankind, antichrist, and the false prophet (6) collectively possess during the tribulation period.

Evil doesn’t come any worse, or more intensely than this. Period. When the bible states an important reference to someone or something, the word ‘7’ of God is very specific and literal. There should be no confusion. To understand why the number six (6) represents evil, Verse 13:18 (6) tells us to “count” his number.
