Revelation Time-Line: The Destruction of the Present Heavens and Earth & the Creation of the New Heavens and the New Earth

The “NEW HEAVEN”

Revelation 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

REVELATION 21: The New Heaven & Earth

Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.

24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.

Isaiah 66:22-23 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Numbers within numbers and truth within truth. New Jerusalem is described with a double of twelve. There are twelve (12) distinct numerical or measurement references that describe the physical, structural nature of new Jerusalem. There are also twelve (12) descriptive references regarding the holy and righteous nature of the city. Combining both groups of twelve (12) references nets a total of 24 references or descriptions. Twenty-four (24) denotes God’s abundant or doubled organizational arrangement in heaven and earth.

WOW! What a city! The New Jerusalem is described in a manner in which it could not be built with materials from Home Depot, Lowes or any other local store that sells building products. It is built with the rarest and most precious of materials in the universe that could only come from heaven and God in order to properly represent his glory. Shining precious stones, a type of luminous, transparent gold utilized entirely throughout the internal structure of the city. The New Jerusalem is described as being 12,000 furlongs on each side which is equal to 1,500 miles. Thus, the city is 1,500 miles wide – 1,500 miles long – 1,500 miles high. Its length, breadth and height are equal. The description suggests two possible geometric shapes, that of being either a cube or pyramid that could house several billion redeemed souls or glorified bodies! Each one of the twelve foundations of the city are named after one of Christ’s Apostles and the twelve gates are named after one of the Tribes of Israel. (Revelation 21:12, 14). The wall is measured as 144 cubits high, which translates into 240 feet high. (144 cubits x 20”per cubit = 2,880” / 12” per foot = 240 feet). Even the height of the wall of the new Jerusalem is a divine multiple of twelve (12) or twenty-four (24).

The New Jerusalem is the capital city of heaven and the center of God’s universe. Jesus prepared the New Jerusalem to become the home of the saints. Jesus promised (John 14:2): “in My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” In Revelation 2:7, Jesus described the heavenly home of the Church as follows: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” This tree of life will be present in the midst of New Jerusalem forever, and it is there to remind us that our life is dependent upon the gifts of God. In Revelation 22:2 the Bible tells us that “in the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

This heavenly city is called the New Jerusalem to indicate its special place in the heart of God, similar to His love for the earthly city Jerusalem in Israel. Because God will actually dwell with His saints in New Jerusalem, John calls the New Jerusalem “the tabernacle of God”. Revelation 21:3 promises: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.” God calls it “the heavenly Jerusalem” to distinguish it from the earthly Jerusalem which will continue to exist forever as the blessed throne of Jesus Christ.

Currently, the New Jerusalem exists in heaven. At the end of the 1,000 years millennium, the New Jerusalem will descend down to the earth as it “comes down out of heaven”. In Revelation 3:12, John described “the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God.” The New Jerusalem will be constantly illuminated by the supernatural light of God’s presence. The supernatural light will infuse the holy city eliminating the need for light from the sun. “And there shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light”. (Revelation 22:5). No natural sunlight only applies to the New Jerusalem. Other passages reveal that night and day will still continue on the earth forever suggesting that the sun will continue to exist for earth’s inhabitants and the earthly city of Jerusalem. Length (1,500 miles), Width (1,500 miles), Height (1,500 miles). Twelve-thousand furlongs = 1,500 miles.

The New Heaven & The New Earth | The Beginning Of Forever

Three-fold Reference to New Jerusalem:

Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God which is new Jerusalem, which commeth down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”

Revelation 21:2 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

Revelation 21:10 “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,”

All three verses describe the New Jerusalem, as coming down from or descending out of heaven. It is a heavenly city that is literally created new, and comes down in proximity to a renewed earth. The New Jerusalem is intended to be God’s and The Lamb’s place of being with redeemed saints. Other verses that refer to the New Jerusalem indicate how magnificent and glorious it is. Natural (sunlight) or artificial light will not even be necessary to light it because the light and glory of God and The Lamb will be in it. The New Jerusalem should be distinguished from the earthly or current Jerusalem in Israel. The New Jerusalem becomes an upgrade in function and form compared to the older, heavenly based temple. It is God’s desire to tabernacle or dwell with redeemed men in this city.

Seven-fold Promises of the New Jerusalem:

  1. God will dwell with men, (tabernacle). (3X). (Rev. 21:3, 21:22, 22:3)
  2. Communion with God/Jesus, (water of life). (3X). (Rev. 21:6, 22:1, 22:17)
  3. Eternal Life, (tree of life). (3X). (Rev. 2:7, 22:2, 22:14)
  4. Heavenly Citizenship, (made a pillar in the temple). (3X). (Rev. 3:12, 21:3, 22:14)
  5. No sickness, disease, death, tears, pain (these have passed away). (3X). (Rev. 7:16, 7:17, 21:4)
  6. All things made new. (3X). (Rev. 21:1, 21:2 and 21:5)
  7. No need for sun or moon, (glory of God and the Lamb light the city). (3X). (Rev. 21:23, 21:25, 22:5)

It is easy to forget what Christ promised to those who overcome evil and love him. It seems that most of the book of Revelation focuses on the gloom and doom that awaits evil mankind. And to a certain degree this is true. Almost the entire book of Revelation focuses on the refinement and redemption of Israel, the wrath poured out on the earth and evil men and the subsequent establishment of the Millennial Reign of Christ on earth. Nonetheless, tucked away in the verses referenced above are Christ’s promises to those who love him and abide by his word. He is very specific in these promises, that require faith (that they will occur) on the part of a Christian. Carefully notice where these verses are placed, they all almost completely occur in the first couple of chapters of Revelation (to the seven churches in Asia-Minor) or in the last couple of chapters of Revelation concerning life in the New Jerusalem.

These promises have to do with our own physical/spiritual well-being, with our relationship to God and Christ and with our surroundings. Notice that each promise received exactly three (3) references! Three denotes God’s emphasis and intensity!!! It is not a coincidence that the Holy Spirit references these promises exactly three (3) times. Each promise is of equal weight, importance or benefit to a Christian. One promise is not more significant or of greater value than another promise. Each promise should be considered of equal value or importance. Keep in mind that these promises ALL become manifest IN the New Jerusalem (which itself is a mind boggling blessing and reward for the Bride of Christ).

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ testifies who is he is and his offer of salvation for mankind, through the forgiveness of their sins, the shedding of his blood and his resurrection. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus communicates (witnesses) the who, what, where, when, why and how of mankind’s salvation. This is known as the gospel of Jesus Christ. Once again, seven (7) references regarding the Holy Spirit witnessing to Christ denotes God’s divine purpose and plan.

Make Your (7) Decision for Christ NOW!!!!!!! Time is Up!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:

The ABCs (7) of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)

A. (7) Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask (7) God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.

. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that (7) Jesus Christ is who He claimed to (7) be; that He was both fully God (7) and fully man and that we are (7) saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. (7) Put your trust in Him as your (7) only hope of salvation. Become a son (7) or daughter of God by receiving Christ. (7777777) 7×7

. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

C. Call upon His name, Confess (7) with your heart and with your lips (7) that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (John 1:8-10).

. . . “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (John 2:2).

. . . “In this was manifested the love of god toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:9, 14-15).

. . . “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:8-10).

. . . “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

. . . “Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

. . . “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” (Romans 1:16).

. . . “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts: 4:12).

. . . “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:4-6).

. . . “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

. . . “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).
