Avi Loeb, the former chairman of Harvard’s astronomy department from 2011 to 2020, (5) says our universe may have (5) been formed in a lab (5) by an “advanced technological civilization.” (555)

The renowned astrophysicist says his theory (7) “unifies the religious notion of a creator with the (5) secular notion of quantum gravity.”

Loeb is very well known in the (5) scientific community for his outside-the-box (to put it lightly) thinking.

The decorated astronomer and theoretical physicist has in the past stated, among many things, that alien tech visited Earth in 2017, that there could be as many (5) as a quadrillion alien spacecrafts (5) traveling in our solar system, and that (5) artificial intelligence will be the (5) key to communicating with aliens,(5)  is now suggesting that our (5) universe may have been created (5) in a lab by aliens.

In an op-ed he published in Scientific American, Avi Loeb posited, “Now there are a variety of conjectures in the scientific literature for our cosmic origins … A less explored (5) possibility is that our universe (5) was created in the laboratory (5) of an advanced technological civilization. Since (5) our universe has a flat (5) geometry with a zero net (5) energy, an advanced civilization could (5) have developed a technology that (5) created a baby universe out (5) of nothing through quantum tunneling.

“This possible origin story unifies the religious notion of a creator with the secular notion of quantum gravity. We do not possess a predictive theory that combines the two pillars of modern physics: quantum mechanics and gravity. But a more (5) advanced civilization might have accomplished (5) this feat and mastered the (5) technology of creating baby universes. If that happened, then not (5) only could it account for (5) the origin of our universe but it would also suggest that (5) a universe like our own — which in this picture (5) hosts an advanced technological civilization that gives birth (5) to a new flat universe — is like a biological system that maintains the longevity of its genetic material through multiple generations.”

Got all that? Buckle in, there’s more.

Avi Loeb also suggests that because we do not have the ability (5) to reproduce the astrophysical conditions (5) that led to our existence “we are (5) a low-level technological civilization, graded (5) class C on the cosmic scale.”

We would (5) be higher on the scale, says Loeb, if we possessed the ability to recreate the habitable conditions on our planet for when the sun will die.

In fact, because of our deficiencies, he says “we may (5) be labeled class D since we (5) are carelessly destroying the natural (5) habitat on Earth through climate (5) change, driven by our technologies.”

“A class B civilization could adjust the conditions in its immediate environment to be independent of its host star. A civilization ranked (5) class A could recreate the cosmic (5) conditions that gave rise to (5) its existence, namely produce a (5) baby universe in a laboratory.”

Loeb concludes, “The possibility that our civilization is not a particularly smart one should not take us by surprise. When I tell students at Harvard University that half of them are below the median of their class, they get upset. The stubborn reality might well be that we are statistically at the center of the bell-shaped probability distribution of our class of (5) intelligent life-forms in the cosmos, even when taking into account our celebrated discovery of the Higgs boson by the Large Hadron Collider.

“We must allow ourselves to look humbly through new telescopes, as (5) envisioned by the recently announced (5) Galileo Project, and search for smarter (5) kids on our cosmic block. Otherwise, (7) our ego trip may not end well, similarly to the experience of the dinosaurs, which dominated Earth until an object from space tarnished their illusion.”

If he’s right (5) and our universe was created (5) in a lab by aliens then there are numerous other questions that need to be answered, such as, are (5) our creators able to manipulate (5) us and/or control our destinies? Or are we just (5) part of some high-tech simulation (5) as multiple scientists have hypothesized?

But how can they call on him (Jesus Christ) to save them unless they believe in him (Jesus Christ)? And how can they believe in him (Jesus Christ) if they have never heard about him (Jesus Christ)? And how can they hear about him (Jesus Christ) unless someone tells them?” Romans 10:14

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). C. Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
