Ten ‘10’ Denotes God’s divine ‘COMPLETENESS’ as to things on EARTH. In Revelation 10, he is opening up the ancient scrolls and ‘little book’ of prophecy that Daniel was told to ‘SEAL UP’ and not write of what was spoken. He was prophetically being told additional things that would transpire or occur ‘in the end of days’ and during the 7 year ‘tribulation.
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the ‘time of the end’: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the ‘time of the end’.
‘Time of the End’:
Revelation ‘10’ And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a ‘little book open’: (NWN; Daniels ‘little book’ is now being opened by God’s Great Angel of Prophecy) and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven ‘7’ thunders uttered their voices.
(NWN; I ‘discern’ that these are seven ‘7’ other great prophecy angels who are ‘confirming’ that NOW IS THE TIME to OPEN DANIEL’S ‘END TIME’ Book of Future Prophecy.’)
4 And when the seven ‘7’ thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven ‘7’ thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
(NWN; The Great Prophecy Angel is proclaiming the ‘LAST DAYS or END TIMES’ have come, in no uncertain terms, and that NOW IS THE TIME to reveal prophecy related TO the Last Days or End Times and Tribulation.)
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh ‘7’ angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
(NWN; Seven ‘7’ denotes God’s divine completion to his plan or purpose for this ‘7th’ prophecy angel to commence and complete prophecy related to the Last Days and End Times. Think of the Great Prophecy Angel as a ‘General’ and the ‘7th’ prophecy angel as a Major or Colonel or someone of rank who has been given authority to physically ‘begin something or start something.’)
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open (NWN; notice that the ‘little book’ is OPEN) in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
(NWN; the prophecy angel(s) are HANDING the little book to physically alive men on the earth. In essence, they are handing or ‘transferring’ the ‘little book of prophecy’ to physical men ALIVE on the EARTH during the ‘End Times’ or ‘Last Days.’ God conveys prophecy to Angels who in turn are ‘messengers’ of God’s prophecy to mortal men alive. Angels, throughout the past 6,000 years have been ‘messengers’ for God to mankind.)
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
(NWN; this is a ‘discernment’ on my part. ‘Take it and eat it’ is a spiritual ‘consumption’ of understanding the End Times and God’s related prophecies to go along with ‘signs of the times.’ It takes ‘7’ knowledge, wisdom, obedience, humility, persistence, prayer and the Holy Spirit’ to work prophecy in man’kind. This is a great and wonderful thing, just like a ‘7’ course meal. However, once the prophecies are apparent ‘consumed and understood’ they will be prone to make one sick to the stomach because of what they foretell. Just like eating a ’7’ course meal will likely make you feel like you could explode. God’s UNFILTERD WRATH poured on evil man’kind who refuse Him, and refuse His Son Jesus Christ and His eternal offer of salvation. Seeing prophecy happen and unfold is a wonderful and miraculous thing. Understanding the implications of seeing prophecy unfold, leaves one’s stomach bitter and sour because of the ‘gastrointestinal storm’ that is coming. Pass-the-antacid-pills, please.)
10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
(NWN; the prophecy angel was prophesying what would happen to anyone who attempted to reveal what was in the ‘little book.’ This verse ‘confirms’ that what was prophesied, did in fact occur and was experienced by those given the task of being Watchmen. This also ‘suggests’ that some men are ‘willingly’ allowing themselves to be Watchmen because they consciously love prophecy (God’s Word) and are completely open and receptive to it.)
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
(NWN; since this is verse ‘11’ it suggests a WARNING(S). The purpose of prophecy is to inform, proclaim and WARN. It suggests that the Watchmen who proclaim the Word of God, will have their ‘7’ words, letters, videos, blogs, sermons, articles and books proclaim God’s WILL to those during the End Times / Last Days and Tribulation period. God has ALWAYS used Holy Angels and physical men (Moses, Elijah, Daniel, Enoch, and others) to speak on behalf of God. He will do this also through the Tribulation via; 1. Prophecy revealed to mankind via his ‘little book’ to Watchmen, 2. The ‘two witnesses’, ‘lampstands’ or candles who proclaims God’s light to the world for the first 3.5 years of the tribulation, 3. The various Angel warnings given to men to NOT TAKE THE MARK of the BEAST and lastly, 4. The 144,000 Jewish Evangelists who have the ‘seal of God’ in their foreheads (and NOT the mark of the Beast) who proclaim Jesus Christ’s offer of Salvation ONE LAST TIME, before the 7 year tribulation ends.)
Acts 2:17-21 And it shall come to pass ‘in the last days’, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Joel 2:28-29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids ‘in those days’
‘7’ What Constitutes God’s Wrath in the Tribulation?
Three-fold Reference to Hail:
- … “The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all the green grass was burnt up.” (Rev. 8:7). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.” (Rev. 11:19). (Emphasis added).
- … “And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague therof was exceeding great.” (Rev. 16:21). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Anyone who has ever watched a weather news brief regarding hail, or watched a youtube video showing the results of a hail storm, can quickly attest to the damage that this form of weather phenomena can cause. Personally, I have seen several videos that have shown hail damage from pea-sized hail, up to hail stone ranging in size from golf balls to even some as large as a baseball. Windshields are cracked and destroyed, awnings knocked down or severely damaged and pitted. Car hoods are badly dented and pitted. Plants are damaged or destroyed. Most anything made of glass or some thin material will most likely be destroyed by a hail storm. The size of a small hail stone is about the size of small caliber gun ammo. If someone is hit in the head, by the right size hail stone, traveling at a high enough speed and at the right angle, this person could easy die. The hail stone doesn’t have to be particularly large to accomplish this. Obviously, the odds of being lethally harmed by a hail stone, go up significantly, as the size of the hail stone increases. I believe, and most people would probably agree with me, that if a person were hit in the head with hail stone the size of a golf ball or a baseball, that person would most likely be killed.
What about the reference to great hail, having the weight of a talent? What does this translate into? Elsewhere, in this commentary on the book of Revelation, I have taken pains to calculate and translate the weight of a talent into pounds. About 75 pounds, is the answer. “You mean to tell me that there can be a hailstone weighing as much as 75 pounds?” The short answer is, yes. If you accept what the Holy Spirit says is true in verse 16:21, then the referenced hail stones weigh almost 75 pounds each. How many hailstones are there in an average hail storm? I have no idea, and I don’t want to stand in a hail storm (of any size stone) and conduct a random sampling or collection of stones, in order to measure their weight or to determine the volume of stones in a square meter of my yard. The hail storm referenced above is literally of Biblical proportion and not a normal, storm of pea-sized hail. What would a 75 pound hail stone do hitting the room of a house, or buildings. What about telephone poles, outdoor HVAC systems or communications equipment? A car being hit by a large number of hail stones at 75 pounds each, traveling at high rates of speed, would be literally totaled and unsalvageable. What if you or I were hit by any object, weighing 75 pounds and travelling at 100 mph or greater speeds? I don’t believe survival would be an outcome.
The reference to hail, in all three verses is to suggest that it is just one of natural phenomena that God will use in his wrath poured out onto evil mankind during the Tribulation. The Bible is silent on how long the great hail storm lasts, whether the storm is worldwide, regional or just targeting Babylon. We don’t know. What we do know, is the relative weight of each hail stone and the volume of hail are considered to be in the league with a plague, and that it causes great damage and inflicts great pain on evil men. As a result, evil men literally blaspheme God and curse/swear at him for sending the plague. Oh, these men fully know who is sending them the plague and yet “repent not.” The hail obviously causes extensive physical damage, and inflicts great pain. Yet prideful men’s egos are such that the hail stones are not sufficient to damage their egos, let alone encourage them to repent and ask for forgiveness. In other words, evil men’s hearts are harder and heavier than 75 pound hailstones.
Three-fold Reference to Special Plagues:
- Noisome/Grievous Sore: … “And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” (Rev. 16:2). (Emphasis added).
- Scorching Heat: … “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And Men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.” (Rev. 16:8-9). (Emphasis added).
- Great Hail: … “And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.” (Rev. 16:21). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: These three special plagues are directly poured out onto evil men during the second half of the Tribulation period (Great Tribulation). They are part of the first, fourth and seventh vial wraths or final plagues. The second, third, fifth, and sixth vials are wraths poured out directly onto the earth and not men. These men are afflicted with very painful or grievous sores or boils, they are scorched with severe, extreme, flesh searing heat, and are also pounded with 75 pound hailstones. A celestial one, two and three sledgehammer blow to the gut, jaw and head of evil men. God’s will is to use nature to afflict men with these extreme calamities or afflictions. The Bible is clear that these men know who is sending them these plagues (God), but in all three instances, these men “repent not” and “don’t give God glory”. Their hearts are as hard as the 75 pound hailstones hammering them. God is done trying to provide evil men with prophets, witnessing, testimonials, words, warnings and exhortations. He is now dealing directly with evil men, through the direct outpouring of his wrath. He is trying to knock some sense into these men and also to punish them for the evil they are doing. As is the case, time and time again during the Tribulation, men’s minds are dull and their hearts are exceedingly hard, as a result they “repent not.” In addition to not repenting, they proceed further into blaspheming God or cursing at him directly. They know who he is … and yet they still curse at him in evil defiance.
Four (4) Altar Horn Angels and Four (4) Fallen Angels of the Euphrates River:
… “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month and a year, for to slay the third part of men.” (Rev. 9:13-15). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: 4 angels (altar horns) authorizing one special trumpet angel, to go ahead and let loose the four fallen angels bound in the Euphrates river. The four (4) altar horn angels are in close proximity / before God’s throne. God gives the order to commence the slaying the third part of men and the four (4) altar horn angels blow their horns notifying the special trumpet angel. The special trumpet angel is one of the seven (7) trumpet angels assigned to pour out God’s wrath on evil mankind. The special trumpet angel is now authorized by God (through the announcement of the four altar horn angels) to go ahead and release or loosen the four (4) fallen angels that have been bound in the Euphrates river, for millennia. The bible is silent on what transgression these fallen angels committed in millennia past, however, we are told that they are bound (or hand-cuffed, zip-tied in modern terminology). These four (4) fallen angels are apparently exceedingly strong and dangerous, for them to have been bound for so long. However, the last verse 9:15 indicates that these evil fallen angels will still serve God’s purpose by executing his judgement against mankind, by slaying up to a third part of all men.
Both holy and evil fallen angels have roles to play in God’s unfolding drama throughout the Tribulation period. Some angels receive commands and decisions from God and announce God’s commands and intentions. Other holy angels are responsible for receiving these announcements and commandments and executing God’s will accordingly. These angels are given the necessary authority and power to render God’s judgments in the manner decided by God. In this particular case, the trumpet angel is given the authorization to let loose four (4) evil fallen angels from their imprisonment. They in turn have the power and ability to slay a third part of man, and are thusly let loose to accomplish the will of God. Angels have profound and differing roles in the divine, heavenly organization of God’s governance. Through God’s omnipresence, he decided on the exact time to allow the four (4) imprisoned fallen angels to slay a third part of men over an exact time period of a year, month, day and hour. This is an interesting inter-play between holy angels and fallen angels. Notice that there is a doubling of angels; four (4) holy altar horn angels and four (4) evil fallen angels of the Euphrates River. An equal number of angels are likewise impacting an equal number of angels. The net effect is the slaying of a third part of evil mankind during the Tribulation Period.
Four (4) Harvesting Angels:
… “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle on the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.” (Rev. 14:14-20). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: This verse can be a little confusing when trying to keep track of the number of angels involved and which angel is saying what to which angel. These verses start off by identifying a special, glorious looking angel with a crown on his head, sitting on a cloud having a nasty looking harvesting sickle. He looks powerful and strong and sat like unto the Son of man (similar in fashion to Jesus Christ, but this is an angel and not Christ). He is waiting for instructions from central command (heavenly temple). Suddenly, a messenger angel leaves the heavenly temple and tells the big angel guy, with the nasty sickle, to go down to earth and start doing his thing…using his sickle to harvest evil men. As if this wasn’t enough, God decides to double-up on harvesting angels with nasty, sharp sickles. Therefore, he sends out of his heavenly temple yet another (second) angel with a sharp sickle. There are now two angels with sharp sickles on the chess board. One has already been put into play and is doing what he was instructed to be doing by the messenger angel. The second angel with another sharp sickle, is now on the chessboard also, but he has not been put into play yet. He is also awaiting instructions and permission to begin his task. Just as a messenger angel was sent out of the heavenly temple to instruct the angel with a crown to start harvesting, a second messenger angel is sent to instruct the second angel with a sharp harvesting sickle to commence his harvesting of evil men on earth.
These verses have an exact doubling or duplication of effort. A double (2) equals God’s solid confirmation of a matter, the addition of an equal measure of weight or importance. There is one instance of an angel executing God’s will at the command of a messenger angel. This then again happens a second time, the same way. Another executing angel receives authority and permission to begin his job, just as the first executing angel did. The only difference between the two executing, sickle harvesting angels is that the first angel is described as glorious, with a crown, and perhaps having some kind of lofty heavenly status. The second executing, sickle harvesting angel is being authorized to harvest “clusters of vines, vine of the earth” and to throw them into the “winepress of God’s wrath”. I believe this last reference regarding the second harvesting angle is that he is being sent to harvest large groups of evil men. An evil man is represented as a grape. An evil group of men could be thought of as a cluster of grapes on a vine.
These verses have a couple of doubles (2). Two (2) harvesting angels with nasty, sharp sickles. Two (2) messenger angels with authority to instruct and authorize the harvesting angels to begin their work. All of this is orchestrated from central command headquarters (heavenly temple of God.) All the angels described are unique in their descriptions, appearances, actions, abilities and roles. Angels are not mindless, holy clones of one another, but have a uniqueness about them … just as man does. God applies his infinite diversity into his creation of both angels and men. No two men or two angels are exactly alike. That is a comforting thought, knowing that I am truly unique and special before God, in the manner he made me (and you!). We are not clones, genetic duplications or mass produced organisms. Neither are angels.
Four-fold Reference to Angels Proclaiming “Woe”:
- … “And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound.” (Rev. 9:13). (Emphasis added).
- … “One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.” (Rev. 9:12). (Emphasis added).
- … “The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe commeth quickly.” (Rev. 11:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath a but a short time.” (Rev. 12:12). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Three (3) woes, three (3) angels, three (3) voices, three (3) trumpets (four groups of three!). Angels are exclaiming or proclaiming woe to men. Woe; a condition of deep suffering from misfortune, affliction or grief, ruinous trouble, calamity, sorrow, anguish, woe, regret means distress of mind. Sorrow implies a sense of loss or a sense of guilt and remorse. Grief implies poignant sorrow for an immediate cause. Anguish suggests torturing grief or dread. Woe is deep or inconsolable grief or misery. Regret implies pain caused by deep disappointment, fruitless longing, or unavailing remorse, nagging regret for missed opportunities. These are strong words that explain the woe that comes upon mankind during the Tribulation. Woe One is described as demonic locusts/creatures (Rev. 9:1-11). Woe Two is described as a great earthquake killing 7,000 men after the two witnesses complete their testimony of Jesus Christ. (Rev. 11:3-13). Woe Three is described as the great wrath that the devil has when he is cast down to earth from heaven. (Rev. 12:9-12). The heavens are rejoicing because the devil has finally been kicked out of the country club for continuously causing discord of accusations. The devil has been doing this continuously for millennia and addressing the resident owner of the country club (God) about everyone he is accusing. The angel flying through heaven saying, “Woe, woe, woe” is providing both a warning and a prophecy. He is in effect saying ‘look out mankind, I know what’s coming your way and you are not going to like it.’ As is usually the case throughout Revelation, trumpets are used to get attention and make announcements.
Four-fold Reference of a “Sword ” as the Word of God:
- … “And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” (Rev. 1:16). (Emphasis added).
- … “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with sword of the my mouth.” (Rev. 2:16). (Emphasis added).
- … “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almight God.” (Rev. 19:15). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” (Rev. 19:21). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: A sword references something long, sharp, cutting, piercing, refined to a laser-like sharpness and strength by fire. It requires handling with skill, accuracy and determination to be used in fighting and for judgement, and for killing. A sword can also represent pagentry, royalty, status, kingship, authority and power. The word of God that Christ’s speaks at his second coming, has every single one of these attributes. The word of God does it all. His word will rightfully judge and execute Christ’s enemies on the Day of the Lord. There is so much power and truth in God’s spoken word, that Christ does not need mechanized weapons to destroy his enemies. All he needs to do is literally speak the word of God, and his enemies will cease to exist. He will have the army of heaven accompanying him (redeemed men). I believe our role in the army is more symbolic in that we will add to the glory of his appearing at his second coming. There is no fighting or effort on our part that would aid Christ in defeating his enemies. The word of God is strong enough, that it doesn’t need redeemed mens’ help in any way shape or form. Just as Christ defeated death and sin on our behalf, he will defeat evil enemies also on our behalf and for his glory. Christ will command and control (a military term) the word of God, just like a skilled swordman does with his sword. The word of God is a powerful sword that speaks literal truth and will literally kill Christ’s enemies. All four references indicated that this power comes directly out of the mouth of Christ, as he literally speaks the words of God. There is omnipotence in the word of God and Christ!
Four-fold Results of Christ Opening the First Four Book Seals on Earth:
- Conquering. White Horse. … “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” (Rev. 6:2). (Emphasis added).
- War. Red Horse. … “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” (Rev. 6:4). (Emphasis added).
- Famine. Black Horse. … “And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse: and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny: and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” (Rev. 6:5-6). (Emphasis added).
- Death. Pale Horse. … “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” (Rev. 6:8). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Conquering nations, multitudes of peoples, tribes and tongues requires warfare. The beast/antichrist goes out to conquer and create war. A subsequent result of wars is the destruction of lands and crops, and the processes for food creation and distribution. This then results in famines and starvation on a massive scale. Diseases and pestilences are not far behind, ultimately followed by death. The process of conquering which ultimately results in death, is on a scale so massive and global, that a “fourth part” or 25% of the earth’s population is decimated. Even the beasts of the earth have power to kill men. One current estimate has the earth’s population at 7.5 billion people. A literal calculation would put the death rate at slightly under 2.0 billion (1.9 billion) people killed by the four horsemen of the apocalypse. That is an unimaginable death toll, unlike anything ever occurring on earth before. Massive numbers of unknown and untold peoples. The extremely sad fact is that “hell followed death.” Unfortunately, taken in a literal sense, the unfortunate people who die are described as being unsaved and have no redeeming knowledge or acceptance of Jesus Christ’s forgiveness of sins through the shedding of his blood. Hell is for those who did not accept Jesus Christ’s offer of salvation, for whatever their personal evil reasons or pride. The Bible does not provide any indication of where these almost 2.0 billion souls will come from throughout the earth. We are left to assume (correctly or incorrectly) that they will come from all over the world. No continent will escape these wars and the subsequent death that follows. Satan will have been successful in killing and stealing almost 2.0 billion potential saints from God and Jesus Christ.
Four-fold Seal Wraths Poured out on Earth:
- Great earthquake. (Rev. 6:12).
- Sun becomes black. (Rev. 6:12).
- Moon becomes blood. (Rev. 6:12).
- Stars in heaven fall to the earth. (Rev. 6:13).
Commentary: When Christ opens the sixth book seal, natural calamities are unleashed on the earth and heavens (not heaven). The Seal Wraths, Trumpet Wraths and Vial Wraths all alternate between affecting men and the earth. In the case of wraths being poured out onto the earth, they increase in severity and intensity going from least (seal wraths) to greatest (vial wraths). There is a very consistent pattern of afflication to the sun, moon and stars; and to the earth, it’s seas, fresh water systems (rivers, fountains and lakes), the foliage and the earth’s internal structural integrity. God afflicts man through his wrath poured out on the earth in several substantial ways. Many peoples of the earth rely on the seas to provide them with their livlihoods and food. Other areas of the earth are extremely dependent on fresh water systems for drinking water and related uses like irrigation for crops and water for livestock. Elsewhere, peoples are dependent on grasses and crops for feeding not only humans but livestock. Without the sun, crops will die and ultimately so will livestock. God is in effect, causing severe stress on earth’s life-supporting systems for men. In many areas of the world today, drought makes it extremely difficult to eak out any form of subsistance. This will get worse. God causes these general calamaties to affect the earth, in order to get evil mankind’s attention during the Tribulation. At this point, God is ‘shouting’ at evil mankind, through natural means.
Four-fold Trumpet Wraths Poured out on Earth:
- … “The first angel shouted, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.” (Rev. 8:7). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.” (Rev. 8:8-9). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” (Rev. 8:10-11. (Emphasis added).
- … “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.” (Rev. 8:12). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Through the four trumpet wraths, God starts ‘yelling’ at evil mankind. He is turning up the heat a notch, so-to-speak, by increasing the affliction of earth to the point where various life-sustaining systems are destroyed. This includes sea creatures and man himself. 1/3rd of trees and 1/3rd of grasses are burnt up. This affects livestocks and animals in the eco-systems that are reliant on the forests and jungles. 1/3rd of the sea is contaminated which causes 1/3rd of sea creatures to die. 1/3rd of sea going vessels are also destroyed by the “great mountain burning with fire that is cast into the sea.” Pick any of the world’s major oceans to be the recipient of the great mountain burning with fire. It doesn’t matter which ocean is targeted, as they are all ultimately interconnected. The spill-over affect of one ocean being contaminated affecting adjacent oceans is ecologically obvious. It won’t take much to affect 1/3rd of the world’s salt-water oceans in becoming contaminated enough by a large catalysmic astronomical meteor or of a super-massive volcanic explosion from the ocean depth. The contamination effectively kills off 1/3rd of global sea life.
Consider today the volcanic effects resulting from the volcanoes erupting in Hawaii, Guatemala, Bali and around the world. Here in the United States, the super-volcano that sits underneath Yellowstone National Park has geological scientists very worried, due to its ‘swarm earthquakes’ and substantially increased geyser activity. To harm the ocean is to harm its sea life and commercial ships that rely on harvesting the ocean. At this point, God also decides to pour his wrath out on earth by means of poisoning 1/3rd of the fresh water systems around the world (rivers, lakes, fountains). Because sea water (salt water) is undrinkable, most nations that do not have any formal desalineation technonolgy, have to rely on fresh waters systems (rivers, lakes, fountains) for drinking water and its related uses to sustain human and animal life. The Bible is clear that a great heavenly object called “worwood” is cast to earth which causes 1/3rd of freshwater systems to become bitter (polluted or contaminated to an unhealthy degree) to the extent that men die from drinking this water. The water of the earth, seas and fresh water systems, have been so afflicted that evil man’s existance comes into question because of his reliance on the seas, lakes, rivers and fountains. Take away water, and man starts to die. Just as God and Christ starting getting men’s attention by affecting the sun, moon and stars in the sixth book seal, the affliction of the sun, moon and stars gets turned up a notch by the fourth trumpet angel. Now, God is targeting his wrath to affect 1/3rd of the sun, 1/3rd of the moon and 1/3rd of the stars to become darkened during the day and not shine likewise at night. Daytime will be darkened by a third, and nightime will be darker by a third.
Four-fold Vial Plagues Poured out on Earth:
- … “And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.” (Rev. 16:3). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.” (Rev. 16:4). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain.” (Rev. 16:10). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” (Rev. 16:12). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Ultimately, and finally, God starts ‘screaming’ at evil mankind through the final four vial plagues poured out on the earth in totality. Up until this point, God has turned up his wrath incrementally. Initially, he showcased supernatural wrath with first time afflictions of the earth proper. Next he showcased his wrath by affecting 1/3rd of the earth’s suface foliage and waters (sea and fresh) and 1/3rd of the heavens (sun, moon, stars). Here at the end with the vial plagues, God turns the knob of wrab, all the way up to high. The afflictions of the earth that sustains evil mankind is total. All seas become as blood. “Every living soul/creature dies in the sea.” 1/3rd of freshwater systems (rivers, fountains, lakes) also become as blood (which apparantly is progressively worse than being bitter from wormwood). The sun, moon and stars are totally darkened so that the beast’s kingdom and capital are completely dark (no sunlight, no moonlight, no starlight). The light that shines on the earth has gone progressively darker from a one-off darkness during the seal judgements, to a 1/3rd darkness during the trumpet wraths to total darkness with the vial wraths.
Lastly, Rev. 16:12 is unique in that this is the only wrath verse that indicates an entire river is dried up (Euphrates) to allow passage for the kings of the east to particpate in The Great Day of the Lord a.ka. the battle of Armageddon. This suggests that the vial plagues take place shortly before Christ’s second coming to earth, sometime during the Great Tribulation or last 3 ½ years of the total Tribulation period. These plagues will obviously affect men to the point of being in a frenzy of hatred and anger, and for them to vent blasphemy and curses at God. The beast/antichrist uses this to fuel worldwide motivation for a gathering of the world’s armies to arrive at Armegeddon. The river has to be dried up so that thousands of tanks and armored vehicles of every sort can quickly cross the span of the river bed. Evil mankind’s existance is so threatened by these worldwide plagues that they feel the only thing they can do (other than to repent and ask Christ’s forgiveness through the shedding of his blood and resurrection) is to fight or make war against him. They do no succeed in this attempt and are totally annihilated.
Four-fold Reference to Plagues Poured out on Evil Mankind:
- Torment by Demonic Locusts: … “And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of god in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” (Rev. 9:3-6). (Emphasis added).
- Noisome/Grievous Sores: … “And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” (Rev.
Commentary: These plagues or afflictions round out God’s plan of pouring out wrath upon evil mankind. For the most part, the trumpet and vial wraths are poured out on the earth directly; sun, moon, stars, seas, rivers, lakes, fountains, trees, grasses and the earth’s internal structural integrity. All these natural elements support man’s existence on earth. In the first four seal judgements (horsemen of the apocalypse), God is using evil men against evil men, through wars – famines – pestilences and death. The carnage during this early period of the Tribulation is caused primarily by men acting upon men. God saves his worst wrath (vial plagues for the earth) just prior to Christ’s second coming, a.k.a. The Great Day of the Lord. The four wraths described above are directly poured out upon men. Three afflictions come from nature and one affliction comes directly from a demonic source (supernaturally evil locusts).
Five-Fold Months of Torment by Satanic/Demonic Locusts:
- … “And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.” (Rev. 9:5). (Emphasis added).
- … “And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. (Rev. 9:10). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: 5 (five) months is a satanically determined period of time and is consistent with the Satanic number five (5). The fact that the time period referenced is exactly five (5) months clearly indicates that these locusts are demonic in nature and satanically empowered. There is double mention of power to hurt men for five (5) months. A doubling denotes God’s solid confirmation of a matter. Men are not demonically tormented for four or six months, but exactly five months (no more, no less).
Six-fold References to Angelic Warnings Given to Evil Men:
- … “And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!.” (Rev. 8:13). (Emphasis added).
- … “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Rev. 12:12). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand,” (Rev. 14:9). (Emphasis added).
- … “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimestone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of trhe Lamb.” (Rev. 14:10). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:” (Rev. 14.11). (Emphasis added).
- … “And they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosover receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev. 18:4). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: These six (6) angelic warnings to evil men could not be any more explicit, direct or to the point. They are made with great emphasis and intensity. They are prophetic in nature because these angels know exactly what is coming through the tunnel in the very near term, during the Tribulation and Great Tribulation. One angel knows the wrath that is coming when the fifth, six and seven angel trumpets are blown. Another angel knows the chaos, mayhem and deception that will result from Satan being kicked out of heaven and thrown to the curb of the earth. He has great wrath/fury and will take it out upon mankind. These are just the first two warnings given by angels! The last four warnings are the sternest and most emphatic warnings God gives mankind via his heavenly messengers. This angel declares, in no uncertain terms, what will befall man if they “worship the beast and receive his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand.” Evil men who do this will receive an overflowing allotment of full wrath of God. It won’t be watered down or diluted. It will be administered full strength. They will be tormented for ever and ever, in the lake of fire and brimestone (2nd death). They will have no rest day or night, for ever.
Elsewhere in this analysis, I comment on the specific sins of men during the Tribulation period that lead to their eternal damnation. The angel who gives this warning indicates the severity of these sins and their consequences from being comitted. Even when this angel proclaims these warnings, they are ignored by mankind and sloughed off or not taken seriously. This ultimately leads to their eternal damnation once they take the mark, name or number of the beast and worship him and his image. With all the bad and evil things that men do today, and during the Tribulation, what makes the last four (4) warnings so emphatic and important? Surely, there are worse things a man could do than worship someone else or a worship an image? Don’t men already do these things? Receiving a mark or number seems harmless enough today. People get all kinds of crazy looking tattoos, what does it matter if someone gets yet another mark or tattoo on their hand or forehead? Or so, people will think during the Tribulation. What they don’t’ know is the object of their worship and adoration.
For the first three and half years of the Tribulation, they will be worshipping the satanically powered beast or antichrist. They will be worshipping a false and blasphemous deity. It gets worse. At the midpoint of the Tribulation, Satan indwells or possesses the beast/antichrist and demands to be worshipped as God. This takes place in Jerusalem in the rebuilt Jewish Temple. Satan/beast defiles the holiest section of the temple. It gets worse. By taking the beast’s mark, name or number, men in essence have signed their name on the dotted line in blood, in regards to giving their utmost allegiance to Satan, through the beast/antichrist/man of sin. They have completely, unequivocably given themselves over to evil via their mind, heart, body and soul. They have even allowed their flesh to be modified to reflect their satanic status. There is nothing worse that a man can do than WILLINGLY give himself over to Satan. God gives men freewill and a choice. At this point, Jesus Christ can’t provide salvation to lost men. They have made their choice. They chose Satan over Christ. They chose to ignore Christ’s offer of salvation. Christ does NOT force himself on anyone who does not want him, or his offer of free forgiveness of sins through Him, and the shedding of his blood and resurredtion. God created man in his image. Men are described as imagers of God. Once man worships the beast, his image and takes his name, number or mark; the body, soul, mind and heart are completely defiled and no longer reflect God’s reflected glory in man. Instead, the evilness of Satan is reflected in the evil men who ignore the angel’s dire warning.
Elsewhere in this commentary, I provide a thorough analysis between receiving a mark (branding) by the beast/antichrist versus receiving a seal of ownership by God in the forehead. For whatever reason (location of the spirit or soul in a man?) God reserves the forehead for a seal of ownership. A true seal of God’s ownership is spiritual and placed in the forehead of those redeemed by Christ. Conversely, once the beast/antichrist has put a mark/branding on the outside/surface of the forehead, that person is given over to Satan and becomes his property (for future slaughter). This duality between satanic markings and holy sealings in foreheads is very real and denotes a person’s status to angels, to Satan and to God/Christ. Once evil men do the exact things that they are told not to do, they have forfeited Christ’s offer of salvation, for eternity. The mark of the beast and the seal of God denote a man’s status for eternity from the Tribulation. Conversely, the Tribulation Saints are those strong people who heed the angel’s warnings and don’t take the mark of the beast, or worship him or his image. Many passages throughout the book of Revelation indicate the glorious future, in eternity, of these redeemed men who did NOT cave into the beast’s system. They accepted the gospel, they accepted Christ for who he is, they acceptance the forgiveness of their sins through Christ’s shedding of blood and resurrection. However, their redemption came with a great personal price of martyrdom in the form of beheading when they refused to withdraw their belief in Christ at the hands of the beast’s persecution.
God isn’t joking or kidding around when He issues a warning. Men are warned not to cross a line, for their own good. Do they listen? Do they obey? Do they take the warning seriously? No, no, no. These warnings are so serious because they have eternal consequences. Six (6) denotes evil and man. Hence, six (6) warnings are given in the verses referenced above.
Six-fold Reference to “Sharp Harvesting Sickles”:
- … ”And I looked, and behold a white cloud, upon the white cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.” (Rev. 14:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time has come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” (Rev. 14:15). (Emphasis added).
- … “And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth: and the earth was reaped.” (Rev. 14:16). (Emphasis added).
- … “And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.” (Rev. 14:17). (Emphasis added).
- … “And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.” (Rev. 14:18). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.” (Rev. 14:19). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Definition of Sickle; a short-handled farming tool with a semicircular blade, used for cutting grain, lopping, or trimming. These six (6) references are literally in a numerical sequence, each one following the previous verse and can be read as a whole. The harvesting of grapes is an analogy for the harvesting of evil mankind on earth. Mankind’s evil is in its fullest bloom, or the fruit of evil has become ripe since it has been growing for so long. The amount of evil can’t get any greater, and now is the time to harvest (destroy) evil. The harvester knows exactly when it is the right time to harvest grapes. The reaping of mankind will be no different, there will come a time that is determined to be the right time in which to harvest evil men. Four (4) special angels are assigned this task. The first angel sits on a cloud, has a gold crown, looks radiant (like unto Christ), and has a sharp sickle. A second angel comes out of heaven’s temple and tells the angel, on the cloud who has a sharp sickle, that NOW is the time for him to start harvesting evil men on earth. And he does so, he starts reaping evil men from the earth with his sharp sickle. A third angel comes out of heaven’s temple, and he also has a sharp sickle. And a fourth angel comes out of the altar of heaven and tells the third angel (who also holds a sharp sickle) that he should also start using his sickle to reap evil men from earth. In summary, there are two angels telling another two angels (that have sharp sickles) that they should both start using their sickles to reap evil men for earth. The timing of this reaping of men by angels using harvesting sickles occurs on the Great Day of the Lord. The last verse in the series, Rev. 14:19, indicates that this activity represents the “winepress of the wrath of God.” This is yet another judgement/action meted out upon evil mankind, by God. There is strong reason to believe that all of these verses can be taken into context as occuring on The Day of the Lord. Rev. 14:20, indicates the volume of bloodshed from the great winepress rises to that of horses bridles (5’), by the space of thousand and sixhunderd furlongs (200 miles).
We know that these verses are in reference to evil mankind because the number of references (6) indicates that the subject matter (men) pertain to evil men. The four (4) angels represent God’s universalness and foursquarenss of symmetry and balance in his plan or purpose. The four (4) angels also represent a doubling of a double (2×2=4). An extra measure of equal weight or importance. Elsewhere in Revelation, we are told that Christ returns with the armies of heaven on The Day of the Lord. It is generally understood that these armies will contain angels, as well as redeemed men from both the Church Age and Tribulation Age (tribulation martyrs). Is is very likely that these four angels could be symbolically representing the angelic participation in Christ’s heavenly armies, or, they could in fact be, the very exact angels who participate in his army. In either case, it is apparent that angels play an important role in meting out God’s great winepress of wrath, when his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ returns at the end of the Tribulation on The Day of the Lord to destroy his enemies.
Six-fold Reference of God’s Wrath for Evil Men:
- Demonic locusts from bottomless pit torment men for five months. (Rev. 9:1-11). 5th angel / 5th trumpet wrath.
- 4 angels of Euphrates River, slay 1/3rd of men. (Rev. 9:13-19). 6th angel / 6th trumpet wrath.
- 2 angels with sharp sickles harvesting evil men’s blood from the great winepress of God’s wrath. (Rev. 14:14-20).
- Noisome and grievous sores. (Rev. 16:2). 1st angel / 1st vial wrath – vial plague.
- Scorching great heat, men repent not. (Rev. 16:8-9).4th angel / 4th vial wrath – vial plague.
- Greatest Earthquake in History, Babylon City split into three parts, cities of nations crumble, mountains and islands disappear, great 75lb. (weighing a talent) hailstones fall on men. (Rev. 16:17-21. 7th angel / 7th vial wrath – vial plague.
Commentary: The wrath for men are alternated with the wrath for the earth. The wraths for men are highly painful, tormenting and destructive. Yet, men repent not. An earthquake of such a great magnitude strikes, that cities from all over the world are leveled. Mountains and islands crumble along with the habitation on them. The great evil Babylon City is decimated, split into three parts and burns within one hour. The pain endured from the grievous sores, scorching heat and being hammered by 75lfb. Hailstones is so great, that men beg to die, wish they could die … but death “flees them.” These cataclysms come from the trumpet wraths and vial plagues. God uses demonic entities (locusts from bottomless pit, evil angels from Euphrates River), heavenly angels (having sharp harvesting sickles) and nature (sun, hail, earthquake, sores) to afflict men. The fact that God uses three (3) forms of afflication denotes the emphasis and intensity of his purpose or plan. He uses everything under his control; nature, heavenly angels and demonic creatures / fallen angels.
Eighteen (3×6) References to Angels Administering God’s Wrath:

- … “And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.” (Rev. 16:3). (Emphasis added).

- … “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried upo, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” (Rev. 16:12). (Emphasis added).
- … ”And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.” (Rev. 16:17). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Three (3) denotes God’s great emphasis and intensity concerning a matter X six (6) denoting God’s number referring to evil man (mankind, antichrist, false prophet). These eighteen (18) references indicate God’s direct wrath being poured out on evil men and the earth’s environment that sustains them. Interestingly, these are wraths doled out by angels directly, upon the earth and man, and do NOT include the wraths associated with Christ’s opening of the seven (7) book seal wraths. Christ’s seven (7) book seal wraths are not included in this grouping because Christ directly releases his book seal wrath upon the earth, angels do not administer his wrath. He administers his wrath himself. The interesting take-away is that God, in his purpose or plan, has eighteen (18) instances (3×6) were his wrath is administered by angels which affects evil man directly, or indirectly (via the earth’s environment).
Seven-fold Book Seals Opened by Christ: (1st of 3 “Wraths”)
- White horse (of the apocalypse) representing the Antichrist and his promise of false peace. (Rev. 6:2)
- Red horse (of the apocalypse) representing War. (Rev. 6:4)
- Black horse (of the apocalypse) representing Pestilence & Famine. (Rev. 6:5)
- Pale horse (of the apocalypse) called Death and Hell. (Rev. 6:8)
- Tribulation Saints, souls representing those who were martyred for their testimony of the Word of God. (Rev. 6:9-11)
- Great earthquake, sun/black, moon/red, stars of heaven (fallen angels) fall to earth, heaven departing as a scroll, every mountain and island moved out their place (great earthquake). (Rev. 6:12-14)
- Silence in Heaven for about half an hour, 7 angels given 7 trumpets for the next wraths, prayers of saints ascending to the throne of God, censer filled with fire from the alter cast to earth, voices, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. (Rev. 8:1-6)
Commentary: First series of the three (3) wraths characterized as strong wrath. God is starting to dole out his wrath on the earth and sinful mankind. It starts with the appearance of the antichrist who promises false peace to those who follow him. God allows mankind’s sinfulness to run its course via wars, the famine and pestilence that always follows war, and ultimatley death that follows. The Seven (7) book seals are unique because God is allowing man to war against man as a means of God’s wrath. The other wraths that follow in Revelation are predominately aimed at the earth and mankind directly by God via supernatural means. In the seven (7) books seals, God does introduce supernatural wonders in the heavens and the earth. The last seal judgement (7th) is somewhat of an enigma as to what it represents. I will suggest relatively simple interpretations. This seal indicats a brief interlude between what just happened on earth resulting from the book seal judgements to the next series (7 trumpets) of wrath. It is almost as if the heavely host were given a chance to catch their breath from what they just witnessed in anticipation of what is to come next. The heavenly host know that forthcoming judgement will be much worse than what was just witnessed and being experienced on earth. This brief interlude also provides emphasis that God is now giving seven angels special trumpets that when blown, will unless the next catastrophes. The passage that talks about the prayers of the saints ascending to the throne of God, has a very simple and practical application. As a result of the redemptive process throughout Revelation, God takes this specifically mentioned time to listen to his saints being perscuted and crying out for judgement against the beast and his system during the Tribulation. These prayers are specifically offered up to the throne of God.
Seven-fold Angels Blowing 7 Trumpets: (2nd of 3 “Wraths”)
- Hail/Fire mingled with blood. 1/3 of the trees and grass burned up on the earth. (Rev. 8:7)
- Great mountain burning with fire (meteor/asteroid?) cast into the sea. 1/3 of the sea becomes as blood. (Rev. 8:8-9)
- Great star(s) falling from heaven (meteors), named “Wormwood”, burning as a lamp, causing 1/3 part of the fresh water on earth (rivers, fountins of water) to become bitter causing the deaths of many men who drink of this water. (Rev. 10-11)
- 1/3 of the sun, moon and stars smitten (darkened), the sun, moon and stars darkened for 1/3 of the day/night. (Rev. 8-12)
- Star (angel) falls from heaven to earth who is given the key to the bottomless pit which he opens. Smoke arises out of the pit darkening the sun and air, demonic locusts (demon hordes) are given power by Abbadon/Apollyon (king of the bottomless pit) like scorpions to sting/tormet men for five months. (Rev. 9:1-11)
- Loosening of the four fallen angels that are bound in the great river Euphrates, at the exact hour for which they are prepared to kill 1/3 of men. (Rev. 9:14-21)
- 7 thunders, sealing up those things just heard, great angel declaring there will be no more delay (time no longer) in God’s wrath, little book of bitter prophesies. (Rev. 10:1-11)
Commentary: Second seriesof the three (3) wraths are characterized as stronger wrath, increased in intensity and scope compared to the 1st series of book seals wrath. There are several themes contained in these verses. The first theme suggests that the intensity and scope of these judgements is more severe than the first book seals judgements. The second theme suggests that God is now starting to pour out more of his supernatural wrath against the earth and man’s environment which has sustained mankind for almost 6,000 years. All of these judements are supernatural and initiated by God, and not man. The third theme suggests that the trumpet wraths are limited to affecting just 1/3 of the heavens and earth in the areas prophesized. An easily overlooked point is that God could easily decimate all of mankind with these supernatural series of judements. The fourth theme suggest that in His inifinite mercy, God still chooses to exercise some restraint to allow for mankind to repent and accept Christ as their Savior and for the forgiveness of their sins. In the midst of unbelievable environmental disaster and afflication, God is still giving evil mankind an opportunity to participate in and benefit from the redemptive process from sin which He offers through Jesus Christ.
A fifth theme suggests there exists a point of debate as to whether or not some of these trumpet wraths are a result of nuclear war (wormwood, bitterness, airborne dust and smoke that blot out the heavenlies). These are exactly the description of what would occur during a worldwide series of nuclear strikes! However, the descriptions also accurately depict the devastation that would be caused by a catastrophic asteriod hit and/or a series of meteors (shower) hammering the earth with radioactive materials. Extreme, violent volcanism could also be responsible for this destruction on earth. As I am fond of doing, I like to use blockbuster movies to bring to mind, as close as possible, some of the symbolism and descriptions contained in prophecy. These may be a bit of a cliché, but they still serve the purpose.
It has been a few years now since Bruce Willis starred in a summer sci-fi blockbuster called Armageddon. Some of you may recall that this movie graphically depicted the devastation caused by meteor shower strikes on the earth and a looming, planet destroying asteroid that is on a bullseye track to hit earth. The resulting collision would bring about nuclear winter (the blotting out of the sun and the resulting planetary wide destruction of the environment). Ironically, this movie may have been a shadow of things to come when God pours out his supernatural wrath during the seven trumpet judgements. The last comment I will suggest on this topic is scientific in nature. Picture in your mind, for a minute, the green-blue earth spinning on its axis with land masses, oceans and freshwater rivers/lakes existing on all sides of our home. In order for 1/3 of the environment to be destroyed, a devastating meteor shower would have to strafe the earth, over a period of time as the earth rotates. A terrifying visual indeed! As a result, my interpretation is that the trumpet judgements are not the result of man-made nuclear war, but rather, the outpouring of God’s supernatural wrath using the materials in the heavens that are at his disposal and command. This interpretation stays within the supernatural context of these combined verses.
A sixth theme occurs when God utilizes demonic hordes to exercise his wrath against the sinful world. Although this is supernatural in context with the other judgements, it is different in the sense that the demonic is now given the ability to inflict scorpion like pain on those who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads. So as to not be repetitive, see my comments below concerning these demonic hordes in the seven descriptions of the demonic locusts. The demonic theme continues as referenced by the four fallen angels, who have been supernaturally imprisoned in the Euphrates river. Whereas the demonic hordes/locust like creatures are given authority to inflict excrutiating pain, the demonic fallen angles are given authority to kill 1/3 of mankind. That would be close to 2.5 to 3.0 billion people by today’s population estimates.
Lastly, a seventh theme is suggested. In addition to the actual wraths described that are poured out onto the earth and evil mankind, the last trumpet suggests some mystery and prophecy that is yet to unfold. Some eschatologists believe that this verse alludes to earlier versus and prophecies in the bible that suggest additional woes of sort, during the Tribulation. Some believe that this verse refers to the final seven (7) vial plagues. Yet, others believe that “sealing up that was just heard” and the “bitter little book of prophesy”, is something additional that is mysteriously hidden from men’s knowledge today, but will be revealed in proper time during the Tribulation and/or Great Tribulation periods.
Seven-fold Angels Pouring 7 Golden Vials = 7 Last Plagues: (3rd of 3 “Wraths”)
- Noisome and grievous sores upon the men which had the mark of the beast and worshipped his image. (Rev.16:2)
- Sea becomes as the blood of a dead man and every living soul dies in the sea. ( Rev. 16:3)
- Rivers and fountains of waters became blood. (Rev. 16:4)
- The sun is given the power to scorch men with fire. (Rev. 16:8-9)
- The kingdom of the beast is put into total (full) darkness. (Rev. 16:10-11)
- Great river Euphrares is dried up. (Rev. 16:12)
- Great voice from heaven saying “It is done”, voices, lightnings, thunders and a great earthquake, such as has never been on the earth, “so mighty and so great”. City of Babylon split into three parts. Islands and mountains disappear. Great hail falling from heaven, each hail stone having the weight of about a talent. (Rev. 16:17-21)
Commentary: Third series of the three (3) wraths, characterized as the strongest wrath with the most intensity compared to the Seal and Trumpet wraths. These are considered the last plagues or wrath poured out on the earth and mankind. Notice that almost all these plagues directly affect the earth (which sustains man’s ability to live and exist). What started out as partial affects on the earth, sun, moon, stars, rivers, foliage, etc., in the seal and trumpet wraths has now become a total affect. Interestingly, the very last vial plague states, “It is done.” God’s wrath has been totally poured out on the earth and mankind. Babylon is annihilated in one hour by an catacylsmic earthquake. Hidden in all three (3) wrath phases is God’s mercy. How can that be? God, in his infinite mercy, chooses not to pour out total wrath or destruction all at once. He chooses to do it incrementally and give evil man a chance to repent and accept Christ’s offer of salvation after each series of wraths. God metaphorically ‘turns up the heat’ in each successive series of wraths in order to shake up the most hardened of hearts. He wants men to repent of their sins throughout the entire Tribulation and Great Tribulation period. However, the Bible is clear that many (most) men “repent not”, and instead curse God.
Seven-fold Reference of God’s Wrath on Earth:
- Great Earthquake, sun becomes black, moon becamse as blood. (Rev. 6:12-14). Jesus Christ / 6th seal from book.
- Third part (1/3rd) part of trees and grass burned up by fire, blood and hail. (Rev. 8:7). 1st angel / 1st trumpet wrath.
- Third part (1/3rd) part of sea becomes as blood from a mountain buring with fire that was cast into the sea. Third part (1/3rd) part of sea creatures are killed and ships are destroyed. (Rev. 8:8). 2nd angel / 2nd trumpet wrath. Sea becomes totally dead as the blood of a dead man, everything living dies in the sea. (Rev. 16:3). 2nd angel / 2nd vial plague.
- Third part (1/3rd) part of rivers, fountains and waters are made bitter by a star named Wormwood. (Rev. 8:10-11). 3rd angel / 3rd trumpet wrath. Rivers, fountains and waters become total blood. (Rev. 16:4-6). 3rd angel / 3rd vial plague.
- Third part (1/3rd) of the sun, moon and stars are smitten with darkness resulting in sunlight for only 2/3rd of the day, and moon and star light for only 2/3rd of the night. (Rev. 8:12). 4th angel / 4th trumpet wrath.
- Total darkness of the beast’s kingdom and his “seat” (capital), men repent not. (Rev. 16:10-11). 5th angel / 5th vial plague.
- Great river Euphrates is dried up. (Rev. 16:12). 6th angel / 6th vial plague.
Commentary: God’s wrath is poured out on both the earth and man. The verses referenced above indicate the seven wraths poured out on nature, directly. These incrementally increasing wraths affect all of a nature. The sun, moon, stars, seas, freshwater systems, rivers, and the earth’s structural integrity. Everything that supports life for man on earth is affected. By affecting nature, God is affecting evil mankind’s ability to maintain life. Most of the wraths poured out in the trumpet and vial judgements affect nature directly. The seven-fold wrath’s of judgement poured out on the earth are complete, total and part of God’s divine purpose or plan. EVERYTHING on earth and in the immediate heavens (not heaven) are affected. Whereas Christ begins God’s wrath by opening the book seal judgements, angels are the entities responsible for administering God’s trumpet wraths and vial plagues upon the earth.
7,000 Thousand Killed by a Great Earthquake:
… “And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and even gave glory to the God of heaven.” (Rev. 11:13). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: This verse, taken in context, is the last verse in Revelation 11 that describes the Tribulational ministry of the two supernatural witnesses (generally believed to be either/or/and, Moses and Elijha). After the antichrist mortally slays these two witnesses, they lay out in the open – unburied for 3 ½ days. After which, a great voice from heaven calls them up from heaven saying… “Come up hither.” Verse 13 then says that at the very same hour in which they are called into heaven, there is a great earthquake killing seven thousand men. The remnant of men that were not killed by the earthquake became extremely fightened by what just happened and end up giving glory to God. Unfortunately, I don’t have statistics readily handy at my fingertips, but I am not aware of any modern era earthquake causing anywhere near 7,000 fatalities. This is a tremendous number of people to be killed. This great earthquake almost represents an exclamation point (or period) at the very end of the two wintnesses supernatural ministry. Very interestingly, this follows another biblical pattern as to the day/afternoon of when Christ was crucified, there was also an earthquake. … ‘Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truely this was the Son of God.” (Matthew 27:54). (Emphasis added).
Seven-fold Description of the War of Armeggedon:
- … “And the number of the army of horsemen were two hundred thousand, thousand: and I heard the number of them.” (Rev. (9:16-19). (Emphasis added).
- … ”And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.” (Rev. 14:20). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” (Rev. 16:12). (Emphasis added).
- … “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Rev. 16:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armadeddon.” (Rev. 16:16). (Emphasis added).
- … “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” (Rev. 17:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Rev. 19:11-21). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: This is the big one. The war to end all wars. The epic conflict between good and evil, in all of history. This battle will make other battles in history seem like minor skirmishes. The raw numbers of the combatants is mind boggling. The bloodshed is so great that its liquid volume is up to the height of horse bridles. Soldiers will be literally swimming and fighting in blood. It is an understatement to be able to imagine the horror, the smell, the flies, the imagery, the anguish, the pain. Birds, from far and wide, will sense the slaughter and flock to Armeggedon to literally peck, feast and gorge on human carcasses … to the point that they can’t eat anymore. The arrogance and evil of Satan and mankind is so great to think that they can defeat the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS with common military equipment (no matter how modernized). This self deluded sense of power suggests insanity. A military analogy would be that of a ‘pee-shooter’ going up a against a multi-headed nuclear weapon. A supernatural, one-sided, overwhelming victory is never questioned. The result is a foregone conclusion. The enemy should have surrendered before they even got into battle. Better yet, they should have never showed up in the first place. Instead, they should have spiritually surrendered to Christ for the forgiveness of their sins before they were physically annihilated. The analogies and metaphors could continue for pages. The Holy Spirit and word of God makes sure to describe Jesus Christ in a way that defines who he is, his status, his power, his righteousness to judge and defeat evil, where he comes from, who he commands and who supports him (not that he needs it). There is no question that Jesus Christ and the armies of heaven represent another form of Almighty God’s wrath. This battle is a bolded, underlined exclamation point (!), by God, at the end of the seven (7) combined years of the Tribulation period, or the Week of Jacob’s trouble.
Seven-fold Reference to The Day of the Lord:
- … “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Rev. 5:16-17). (Emphasis added).
- … “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Rev. 16:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” (Rev. 16:16). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.” (Rev. 14:19-20). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings on hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chose and faithful.” (Rev. 17:12-14). (Emphasis added).
- … ”And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse: and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness hedoth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Rev. 19:11-16). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” (Rev. 19:21). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: References to “The Day of the Lord” have been thrown around enough to be interpreted as pertaining to events occuring throughout the seven (7) year combined Tribulation period, or to be directly related to the very last day when Christ comes to earth (his second coming) with the armies of heaven. Using the seven references listed above as a guide to God’s word, it is clear that an understanding to “The Day of the Lord” is to mean the triumphant return of Christ and his victory over his enemies at Armegeddon. Each verse is very clear in describing Christ and what happens during this day. Although not directly described in these verses, other verses indicate that Babylon (city) is destroyed in just one hour, during Christ’s second coming. Christ returns like a lion, roaring, full of glory, strength, judgement, righteousness, wrath and a sharp two sided sword that is the word of God. He is able to destroy his enemies with just a word from his mouth, no multitipped nuclear missiles are needed. Christians who propose and subscribe to a ‘pre-trib’ rapture/harpazo (as do I), will quickly and accurately note that Christ returns with a unique army from heaven. He is followd by people riding white horses clothed in white linen (righteousness). These are the redeemed in Christ who have been given righteousness through their belief in Christ’s salvation from the forgiveness of their sins. Only the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS can give this righteousness to a person who has been raptured, glorified, partakes of the Bride’s supper and Bema seat judgement. The ‘blessed hope’ of these events occur seven years prior to, and well in advance of the Day of the Lord’s second return to earth to conquer his enemies. Artists for countless centuries have tried, with varying degrees of success, to capture the immense glory and power of Christ during his second coming on the Day of the Lord. Man is woefully inadequate in his skill to capture and portray this event in its glory, intensity and scope.
Seven-fold Reference to Earthquakes:
- … “And I beheld when he had opened the sixt seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” (Rev. 6:12). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” (Rev. 6:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.” (Rev. 8:5). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.” (Rev. 11:13). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.” (Rev. 11:19). (Emphasis added).
- … “And there were voices and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of wine of the fierceness of his wrath.” (Rev. 16:18-19). (Emphasis added).
- … “And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.” (Rev. 16:20). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Even before the week of Jacob’s trouble or the Tribulation period, Christ warned mankind that the nearness of his return would be accompanied by the increasing frequency, intensity, scope and destruction of earthquakes. The references to earthquakes during the Tribulation take the destruction experienced from pre-tribulation earthquakes to a whole new, global level. Large portions of cities, and entire cities are quickly destroyed around the world. Babylon, capital of the evil empire and home to the Mystery Religion, is split into three parts and destoyed within one hour. Imagine New York City, San Francisco, London, Paris, Tokyo, Rome, Hongkong or Moscow suddenly being split into three sections and totally destroyed within one hour. Yes, within one hour! The devastation would be complete and unimagineable! The cataclysmic effect of the ‘great, such-as-was-not-since-men-were-upon-the-earth-earthquake’ is to literally level mountains, destroy/submerge islands and level entire cities. I am not physical (geological) scientist, but this almost appears to represent an entire global, axis shift and/or shifting of continents. The shifting of the earth on its axis or of its continental shelves, would cause tremendous inter-continental stress on the earth’s crust. Rev.16:18-19 clearly indicates that cities in nations, around the world, fall due to this gobal, cataclysmic earthquake. There is no hiding in hills, bunkers, mountains, remote islands, high rises or any other natural or manmade shelter. Everything is flattened. Around the world. The itensity of this earthquake will most likely be off the Richter Scale (a numerical scale for expressing the magnitude of an earthquake on the basis of seismograph oscillations). The more destructive earthquakes typically have magnitudes between about 5.5 and 8.9; the scale is logarithmic and a difference of one represents an approximate thirtyfold difference in magnitude.
My hypothesis, in keeping with Biblical, mathematical accuracy and truth, is that the ‘great earthquake’ that man has never, nor will ever again experience, will probably be at the level of 10.0 (which is off of the Richter Scale shown). Why do I say 10.0? Ten (10) Biblically denotes allness or completeness in a physical way, as to things on earth. Going from 7.0 to 8.0 is a thirty-fold increase in magnitude or strength, going from 8.0 to 9.0 is yet another increase in magnitude or strength of thirtyfold, lastly, going from 9.0 to 10.0 is yet another thirtyfold increase in magnitude or strength. Therefore, going from 7.0 to 10.0 on the scale is logarithmically a 30 x 30 x 30 (27,000%) increase in magnitude or strength. This is unimaginable, unless you think of it mathematically, Biblically. Keep in mind, Seismologists (scientists who study earthquakes and what causes them) consider an earthquake between 7.0 and 8.0 to be major or severe, and capable of causing great devastation and fatalities. Someone who is an expert in the geological sciences could probably calculate what magnitude of earthquake would be required to occur to cause such cataclysmic destruction as described from the ‘greatest earthquake in mankind’s history’. If you continue to extrapolate the logarithmic slope line shown below from 8.9 to a hypothetical 10.0 on the scale, the slope line would be almost completely vertical as you near 10.0 (off the charts). An earthquake with a magnitude of destruction of 10.0 would indeed affect the whole world, not just one city on one continent. Note, Seismologists rate an earthquake just below 9.0 as ‘GREAT’, what would an earthquake of 10.0 be? Cataclysmic? Scary. I am probably not using the right or appropriate term to describe the devastating effects of a 10.0 earthquake. This is a hypothesis based on mathematics, Richter scale benchmarks and Biblical truth in the representation of numbers. I am not a Geologist or Seismologist, nor do I have any scientific training in this area. I challenge someone more skilled than myself in this discipline, to calculate the destructive power of a 10.0 earthquake (or greater, if possible). I apologize in advance if my calculation or hypothesis is wrong. My attempt is an honest attempt, once again, at trying to understand and explain something that has only been described Biblically, in a general way. Mankind did not have a Richter scale, or scientific benchmark system to measure earthquakes, back in the days of John, the Apostle. They only knew how bad an earthquake was by the amount of devastation it caused, and how much money they would have to beg from Rome, in order to rebuild.
Seven-fold Description of the Demonic Locusts from the Bottomless Pit:
- Shapes like horses prepared for battle. (Rev. 9:7)
- Appearance like gold crowns on their head. (Rev. 9:7)
- Faces like mens’ faces. (Rev. 9:7)
- Hair like the hair of women, teeth like lions. (Rev. 9:8)
- Wings that sounded like chariots with many horses, rushing to battle. (Rev. 9:9)
- Tails like scorpions, power to hurt men five months. (Rev. 9:10)
- Had a king named Abaddon or Apollyon. (Rev. 9:12)
Commentary: John did his best to describe things that he saw that were indescribable to him during his day. He had to use terms that would be familiar to both him and readers throughout the ages. I would have had just as much difficulty describing whatever John saw. These are demonic locusts (or some type of creature) from the bottomless pit. Most moviegoers are somewhat familiar with the Alien and Predator horror/science fiction movies starring Sigourney Weaver (Alien) and Arnold Swarzennegger (Predator). If you were John, sitting in a cave in Patmos, how would you describe the ‘Alien’ or ‘Predator’ creature if you were given a vision of such a demonic creature? My interpretation suggests that of a demonic creature. It was commanded of them that they should not hurt the grass, trees or anything green and only those men who do not have the seal of god in their foreheads. Modern weaponry is indiscriminate in what it destroys on the earth and would be unable to differentiate who is spritually sealed by God. The demons who Christ cast out of people during his ministry on earth knew who Christ was and were very fearful of his authority. So to will these demon’s know who is ‘fair game to torment’ and who is not to be tormented. This has a supernatural element to it that modern weaponary does not meet. Lastly, these verses are very specific where these creatures come from … the bottomless pit. For the sake of brevity, the Bible is clear that the bottomloss pit was reserved for the worst and most demonic of fallen angels and creatures. Kind of like a ‘maximum security” prison.’
Seven-fold Description of the Antichrist’s Army at Armageddon:
- 200,000,000 million men on horses. (Rev. 19:16)
- breastplates of fire. (Rev. 19:17)
- breastplates of jacinth. (Rev. 19:17)
- breastplates of brimestone. (Rev. 19:17)
- heads of the horses were like lions heads. (Rev. 19:17)
- mouths issuing fire, smoke and brimestone. (Rev. 19:18)
- power in their tails that were like serpents’ stings. (Rev. 19:19)
Commentary: This imagery has the same challenges of describing the demonic locusts/creatures. Again, the Apostle John did his best to describe what he saw in terms that people throughout the ages might generally understand. The number of the army (200 M.) is straightforward and has not been debated. John specifically says he “heard the number of them”. The rest of the descriptons very much sound like modern day weaponized instruments. Breastplates are described as armour or tactical gear worn by today’s soldiers or military. “Lions heads’ suggest that these horses/machines have a “booming roar” or sound of a lion, which provides a sound image of tanks, artillery, mounted munitions fired from helicopters, planes and drones. “Mouths issuing fire, smoke, brimestone”, provides the imagery of artillery shells, rockets, high calliber ammo, tank shells being fired. Watch any video on YouTube of any recent, actual modern warfare, and notice the fire and smoke that is emmited from the cannon which issued the ordinance (I’m trying to use military speak). Sorry, military folks, if I’m not using the right vernacular. The atmospheric trail of the ordinance, while airborne, is one of smoke. Brimestone provides imagery of a flaming hot spear, hurtling through the skies, giving off fire and smoke. Mobile mounted rocket launchers and other cannons are generally mounted towards the rear of the vehicle transporting them and could be described as having “the sting of serpents in their tails”. The horses described by John the Apostle are our modern day weapons of war.
Seven-fold Men Hiding from Christ on the Great Day of the Lord:
- Kings of the earth.
- Great Men.
- Rich Men.
- Chief Captains.
- Mighty Men.
- Bondmen.
- Freemen.
Commentary: (Rev. 6:15-17) … “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Emphasis added). Like scared mice, men hide under and behind rocks because of the glory and wrath of Jesus Christ on the day of his return or second coming. Today, milionaires and billionaires (and political elite) are building bunkers and enclaves in mountains and islands, with the thought they they will be able to withstand a nuclear holocaust. It is the wrong solution to the wrong problem. They won’t be able to hide themselves when Jesus returns.
Notice the sequence (or ranking of men). It is from greatest to least, wealthiest to poorest, the political elite to those who have no power. These men quickly realize they are in trouble and have literally no place to run or to hide. They are so terrified, that they would rather die than face the judgement and wrath of the Lamb. This is in light of the fact that they all had earlier opportunities, throughout their life, to accept the forgiveness of their sins, through the Lamb, but chose not to do so. Now, it is too late, and wrath has come. Thus, they are reaping the consequence of their decision(s). Their $17.5 million, steel reinforced, triple-concreted walls, and luxury stocked food pantries in bunkers, will fold and crush like an empty aluminum soda can. Ironically, men want rocks to fall on them to hide them (or save them) from the wrath of the Lamb. Men are so deceived and weak-minded that they now think that rocks can save them, instead of the blood of the Lamb. When a person is thoroughly and completely ashamed or embarrased over something incredibly wrong that they did, most people with a conscience wish that they ‘could just crawl under a rock and die’ instead of facing public scrutiny or ridicule. This won’t be too far from the truth at the end the Tribulation.
Seven-fold Reference to Lake of Fire Judgement:
- … “He that hath an ear, let hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death (lake of fire).” (Rev. 2:11). (Emphasis added).
- … “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimestone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosover receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev. 14:10-11). (Emphasis added).
- … “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” (Rev. 19:20). (Emphasis added).
- … ”And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimestone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev. 20:10). (Emphasis added).
- … “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Rev. 20:14). (Emphasis added).
- … “And whosover was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:15). (Emphasis added).
- … “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Rev. 21:8). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: The lake of fire is also known as the ‘second death’. This is the final place of burning, everlasting torment for Satan, the antichrist, the false prophet and those un-saved, un-believing souls from throughout the ages found NOT to be in the book of life, at the white throne judgement, at the end of the Millennium. The lake of fire and second death are also reserved for those deceived during the Tribulation who took the mark of the beast and and worshipped him and his image. The evil dead are resurrected to be judged by Christ for their evil works and for their rejection of Him who offered himself for their salvation and forgiveness of their sins. As a result of their sins and judgment, they are cast into the lake of fire that represents a second death (the first death being physical body death and souls/spirits being in Hell). The evil dead are resurrected into bodies and cast into the lake of fire to be severely tormented, having no rest day or night, and are absent from a loving God and their Savior who offered himself for them.
The great irony is that these people received exactly what they wanted. They refused Christ and wanted nothing to do with him, they wanted to exist in eternity without communion with God and Christ, on their own terms. They literally received what they asked for. The stench of their physical and emotional torment rises up in smoke, for eternity. God made both man and angels as eternal beings, hence they will exist forever in one state or another. Which state will any of us choose to exist in? The choice is up to us, and God grants us the freedom to make that choice for ourselves. For better or worse, we have no one to blame (certainly not God) except ourselves for whatever choices we make an earth.

(Emphasis added).
Commentary: In my previous commentaries regarding the various wraths (seal, trumpet and vial) I went into detail regarding those wraths that were just doled out onto the earth and those wraths which were doled out to evil man. When understood in totally and counted there are exactly ten (10) wraths assigned to earth and ten (10) wraths assigned to mankind from throughout the combined twenty-one (21) wraths of the seal/trumpet/vial judgements. Uh, wait-a-minute, you said that there were twenty-one (21) total wraths and I count a total of twenty wraths (10+10=20), what gives? You are short one (1) wrath. That was a great catch by eschatology students, however, there is one (1) seal which Christ opens (the final, seventh book seal). This seal does NOT have any wrath associated with it regarding the earth or evil mankind. Let’s revisit Christ’s opening of the seventh book seal, (Rev. 8:1-5) … “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.”
This is the only judgement or wrath out of the combined twenty-one (21) that creates a pause in the heavenly administration of judgement. Why is this? Dig into this a little deeper and apply a little discernment. Consider the sequence of the six (6) book seal openings that were opened directly prior the last or seventh seal opening. The four horsemen of the apocalypse (antichrist, war, famine, death) have shown up on the world scene during the first 3 ½ years of the Tribulation. War and calamity is everywhere. People who are resisting the antichrist and his system are turning to Jesus Christ for salvation, and are praying to Christ and God. I believe that most people who will come to Christ during the Tribulation will do so during the first 3 ½ years. These people are praying for forgiveness, they are praying to be spared from the beast, they are praying that they can avoid the wars, famines and resulting death. They are praying for both physical and spiritual salvation from the beast. The Bible is clear that God so values the prayers of the Saints, that he considers them as incense. Somehow, special angels are able to accumulate all the Saints prayers and present them to God. At the end of the seven (7) book seals, it is as if God allows a brief time out between the completion of the seven (7) book seals and the onset of the seven (7) trumpet wraths. God is giving those in heaven and those on earth a chance to ‘catch their breath’ during the “silence of about the space of half an hour.” This period also sets the stage for the introduction of the seven (7) angels who are being given the seven (7) trumpets to usher in the next phase of increasing wrath upon the earth and men.
We don’t know how long the “silence of about the space of half an hour,” lasts on earth. It could be weeks or months, we don’t know. However, it appears that there is a very brief period of time where there is no wrath poured out to allow mankind to consider or contemplate what has just occurred during the first six (6) book seal openings by the Lamb. This is an act of mercy of God’s part. He gives men a chance to consider what they are doing, what is going on around them and to consider the gospel of Jesus Christ being proclaimed throughout the world by the two supernatural witnesses, the angel and the Tribulation Saints being persecuted. Anyone who has an ear, and is inclined to hear, will do so during this period. Repentance, forgiveness and prayer will result. Prayer will be collected by angels and offered to God. Interestingly, the Revelation of Jesus Christ does NOT indicate any further delay in God’s judgement or the outpouring of his wrath during the trumpet or vial judgements. Rev. 10:6 makes a very significant statement by a mighty and glorious angel who says, “And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therin, that there should be time no longer.” (Emphasis added). “That there should be time no longer,” can also be interpreted that there will be no further delay or time allotted for a pause in the action (administration of judgement).
There you have it. Ten (10) earth judgements + ten (10) evil mankind judgements + one (1) half-hour pause for the sake of the Saints = Twenty-one (21) judgements. All the book seal, trumpet wraths and vial plagues are accounted for!
Why does God pour judgement and wrath out on the planet? As a Christian, it is relatively easy to see or understand why God judges evil mankind. But why the earth? Earth’s seas, freshwater systems, grasslands, jungles, grazing pastures all function in the ecosystem to provide food and water for evil mankind. The earth was designed and built by God so that man could thrive as a result of managing that which God created. Unfortunately, with the corruption, falling away and sin of man occurring back in Genesis, the earth has also been affected by man’s sin. God can’t stand anything sinful, whether it is alive in physical form or alive in spiritual form and anything likewise. Just as God’s plan is to work on the redemption of men from sin through his son, Jesus Christ, God also works on redeeming and rebuilding the earth. This occurs during the Millennial period of Christ’s 1,000 year reign on earth. Yes, the ten (10) wraths poured out on earth absolutely hammer our planet. However, God will revitalize and renew the earth to its original ‘Eden-like’ state.

Commentary: The ten (10) references to both trumpets and to vials indicates God’s allness or physical completeness on earth. Both the trumpet and vial wraths are fully completed on earth. God even indicates in the very last vial wrath reference (Rev. 16:17), “It is done.” He is finished. Throughout all of the book of Revelation, only trumpets and vials are associated with both angels and wrath.
Twelve-fold References to Judge / Judging / Judgement:

- … “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” (Rev. 20:13). (Emphasis added).
Commentary: Judging or Judgement is described as;
- God is the judge and provides judgements or decisions based on the actions, behaviors and deeds of men and angels.
- Judgement is a decision requested to be made on behalf of someone (Tribulation Saints) who were wrongfully hurt (beheaded).
- Someone (nations) are caught bloody red handed and are angry knowing that they will be judged for their actions, behavior and evil deeds. They are angry because they didn’t get away with it and were caught. They know they are going to have pay a price which they can’t afford.
- Judgement is request that someone be righted a wrong done to them.
- Judgement is request for a reward promised based on a stated outcome.
- Judgement is based on timing. An evil act is done, its results are noted and accounted for. Time comes for the evil act to be judged and the resulting judgement exercised or made manifest.
- Judgement, or the decision of what should be done has to be acted upon or made to occur (sent to prison). This is known as making a judgement manifest or physically exercised. This is the doing of what should be done.
- Witnesses in the public gallery indicate that God’s judgements are “true and righteous.” This means that the public gallery can attest to the fact that God did take everything into account, all the details, actions, deeds, events, behaviors, statements, intents and came to the correct and truthful conclusion regarding the matter. Nothing was left out. Everything was taken into consideration as evidence, properly evaluated and applied against the benchmark, standard and/or law that was being applied. God’s administration of justice and his resulting judgements are found to be accurate, spot on, truthful, correct, no question about it. In Biblical words, “true and righteous.”
- God is described as judging the “great whore” A.K.A. Babylon City (the great worldly capital of the beast’s/antichrist’s kingdom).
- God is strong, meaning he can’t be swayed or weak in the sense that he lets some evil slide a bit in terms of not being judged or of receiving judgement. He is firm in his judgements and not weak-kneed. He does not fold under public pressure. He can’t be influenced, bribed, manipulated or pushed by a particular special interest group, lobby or entrenched political idealogy or group. He is strong, firm, steadfast, unwavering in the application of his administration of justice. The wrath of his resulting judgements are not watered down or filtered out or held back. He gives the criminal, evil-person no slack and gives them the fullest extent of prison term possible (eternity). They are not sent to a plush prison serving three square meals a day with a basketball court, but to a lake of fire and brimstone. God does not ‘molly-coddle’ the evil, he gives them exactly what they deserve. He does not withhold his judgements, he pours out his wrath in full strength (at just the right time).
- God’s judgement comes very swiftly, within “one hour.” There is no long drawn out period of rebuttals, challenges, reviews, counter-suits, passing on to a higher court, etc. A decision is made and done. The action of the decision is made manifest, very quickly. There is no delay in the manifestation of the decision. Babylon City is destroyed within one hour, split into three parts by a very great earthquake, consumed by fire and hammered by 75lb. hailstones (weight of a talent). Period. There is no punishment meted out in stages, over a long period of time. There is no slap on the wrist that comes with an admonition to don’t do it again. The celestial sledgehammer is dropped quickly and decisively, no force is held back.
- God’s judgement includes not only the living but also the dead. Jesus Christ opens his book of life, to see if a dead man’s name is in it. The book of life is not unlike an accounting ledger that records all the debits and credits amassed over a period of time. These debits and credits are referred to as “according to their works.” If a man’s name is found in his book of life, Jesus acknowledges as much to the Father and “confesses the man’s name even to the angels.” Through Jesus Christ and his book of life, God is able to righteously judge dead men. Jesus’ book of life accounts for everyone, past, present and future.
Numbers within numbers, meanings within meanings. 12 (twelve) descriptions of judging or judgement and 12 (twelve) references or verses from throughout the book of Revelation. Judging / Judgement. (Def.); to form a conclusion about a subject or outcome, to decide as in a case of court, to give a verdict about someone or something in court as truthful, applying the administration of justice and truthfulness. Only God and Jesus Christ are the judges. Period. Only God and Jesus Christ do the judging. Period. Only God and Jesus Christ reward, withhold or punish. Period. Only God and Jesus Christ are judge, jury, and jailer. God has his wrath. Jesus Christ has the keys to heaven and hell. Having judgement and exercising judgement is derived from authority and rule. One can only be a judge if they have the authority to judge and the right to judge. One has to be competent to judge, to be able to discern right from wrong, truth from lies, good from evil, just from unjust, righteousness from unrighteousness, clarity from deception, godly from ungodliness, saved from unsaved. To be able to judge, one has to know all the facts, all the outcomes, all the intents, all the behaviors and apply these against a benchmark, a standard, a law that determines whether the data observed meet the benchmark, standard or law. Since God is omnipotent and knows everything occurring past, present and future, he is supremely just in knowing everything to take into account in performing judgement. He is the only one capable of exercising correct, truthful and righteous judgement because he can and does take everything into consideration when exercising his administration of justice. Jesus Christ is the benchmark, the standard and/or the law. Jesus Christ paid our court fees, he paid the bail, and also paid a very expensive price so we wouldn’t have to go to jail, to the dungeon, to the hangman or to the lake of fire. God’s law of righteousness and truthfulness is;
- Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.
…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
…As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)
…If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)
- Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.
…That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
- Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
…That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
This is the benchmark, standard and/or law by which God judges men. If Jesus Christ finds a man who meets this benchmark, standard and/or law, he acknowledges and confesses the man’s name before God as belonging to him and having meet the requirements. Jesus Christ acts as our lawyer, on our behalf, in the administration of God’s justice. Jesus saves us in God’s court of law and in the administration of God’s justice.

Commentary: Twelve wraths of God are doled out to the nations, Babylon City and evil mankind. No wrath is meted out on the beast/antichrist, no wrath is meted out on the false prophet, and there is no wrath is meted out on the Bride of Christ / Church / Child (Rev. 12:5). Wrath of the nations is referred to three (3) times, Wrath of Babylon is referred to twice (2), and lastly, wrath of mankind is referred to seven (7) times. There is no wrath for the Bride of Christ, since she is not on earth during the Tribulation and has already been found righteous through the forgiveness of our sins, and shedding of blood by Jesus Christ.
Wrath is described as;
- Wrath comes from the Lamb (Jesus Christ) on the Day of the Lord at Armageddon.
- Time has come for Jesus Christ to render his wrath upon evil mankind and the nations.
- Nations are angry for receiving Christ’s wrath. They thought they could get away with it, and not be caught.
- Babylon City, the great whore who provided spiritual fornication to the world, receives God’s wrath.
- The wrath of God is witnessed by angels and Jesus Christ.
- The wrath of God is described as a ‘winepress.’ A winepress is used to squeeze grapes until they burst and release their juice.
- The wrath of God is completed with the final seven golden vial plagues.
- The final seven golden vial wraths are given directly by God to one of the four beasts who in turn gives them to the seven angels.
- The seven angels are commanded or instructed in turn to pour out the God’s golden vials of wrath on mankind.
- God’s wrath causes the cities of nations to fall, and the destruction of Babylon City all by physical destruction.
- The kings of the nations, and great men ‘merchants’ who committed spiritual fornication with Babylon, receive God’s wrath.
- Jesus Christ uses the ‘sharp sword’ of word of God as wrath on his second coming, during the Day of the Lord, at Armageddon. He ‘treadeth’ or operates God’s winepress of wrath on evil men on the day of his return.
Commentary: Numbers within numbers. Meanings within meanings. Twelve (12) descriptions of wrath, twelve (12) references or verses throughout the book of Revelation. God and Jesus Christ’s wraths are the physical manifestations of God’s judgements. God’s judgements are made manifest. God’s wrath is directed at the evil city of Babylon (the beast’s/antichrist’s capital of the Babylonian system) and at evil mankind throughout the world. God’s administration of justice and wrath involves one of the four beasts who surround his throne, angels and Jesus Christ. Specific wraths are aimed at the natural world that supports men (seas, waters, fountains, rivers, light), other wraths specifically target man directly (grievous/painful sores, scorching/searing/burning heat, 75lb. hailstones, an epically destructive worldwide earthquake). One ultimate result of God’s wrath is that all the cities of the world fall or are leveled. This is the result of his wrath of a worldwide earthquake that is unlike any earthquake that has occurred since man walked the earth. Elsewhere in this analysis, I hypothesize that this type of earthquake could be a magnitude 10.0 earthquake (or greater) resulting from a massive shift in the earth’s rotation, a shift in its poles or from a massive shifting in the continental plates under the earth’s crust. In any case, cities fall, mountains and islands are found no more. Such is God’s wrath on Babylon, evil mankind and the cities, nations and kings of the earth.

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:
The ABCs of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)
A. Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.
. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).
. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).
B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.
. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).
C. Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).
. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (John 1:8-10).
. . . “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (John 2:2).
. . . “In this was manifested the love of god toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:9, 14-15).
. . . “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:8-10).
. . . “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).
. . . “Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).
. . . “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” (Romans 1:16).
. . . “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts: 4:12).
. . . “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:4-6).
. . . “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).
. . . “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).
True Church / Bride of Christ Spared from God’s Wrath:
Romans 5:8-10. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 12:19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 5:9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Romans 8:35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Jeremiah 30:7. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
