Ezekiel 33:2-6

“”When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman,

3, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people,

4, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head.

5, He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life.

6, But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman”s hand.” (Ezekiel 33:2-6)

Revelation 19:20

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 14:11

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Pastor Mike Taylor;

Each of us are watchmen on the wall. If you stand behind a pulpit or preach to a congregation in whatever media you use, you have a responsibility to warn those who are in danger of hell fire and all that it represents. God does not send anyone to hell, as it is a decision that each of us must make, but the Word of God must start with men and women who are commissioned by God to take the Word of Truth to those who are in their sins.

Whether a minister believes he is a watchman or not, he is commissioned by God to spread the Gospel to the lost. He is to preach the penalty of sin. He is to abandon a feel good “gospel”, prosperity gospel, or a social speech of humanism and being just a “good citizen”. This won’t save anyone. It will not warn those who are walking the wide road and gate to destruction, but will only placate them that they are OK…they are not OK, as they do not have Jesus in their hearts. It is a minister’s job to take the message of salvation to his congregation, his community and the rest of the world.

Prepping for ‘Mr. Fix-It’

Society is being prepped for the Antichrist, and as prophecy-loving believers try to warn, the words are falling on a lot of deaf ears.

The stage is being set for a closing act. The players are getting into their proper positions. Heads of state are meeting to plot and scheme and deny even more rights. In places like Australia, Lithuania, and Austria, good people are enemies of the state even though they are upstanding citizens.

World leaders have no comprehension they are majoring in minors. To them, it makes perfect sense to obsess over carbon emissions. During the Tribulation, this will fade from their memories as they cope with Seals and Trumpets and Bowls. These will spark “climate change” they cannot imagine!

Most receiving this newsletter are “watchmen.” Ezekiel 33 tells us that if you don’t warn, the blood is on your hands, so you cannot be silent.

Brace yourself to be shocked daily by things you read and watch. Satan is getting more active, and wickedness is rising, so God’s people must shine more brightly.

But for the believer, a glorious event will happen soon. It is known as the Rapture of the Church. It is any day. Any hour. Any minute. So don’t grow weary!

And yes, if a believer is a Rapture skeptic, they get the surprise of their life someday soon. Then you’ll have the privilege of saying, “I told you so.”

Won’t that be a glorious day?

Pastor Greg Laurie; Harvest Ministries

“God promises this in the book of Revelation, and He also gives us a promise of global peace. The Antichrist, however, will bring pseudo peace. During the first three-and-a-half years of the seven-year Tribulation, he will come across as a good guy. But in reality, he will be a bad guy. And the Scriptures say that he will use peace to deceive many. Ultimately, once Antichrist is taken out of the way, God will bring global peace.”

How Vulnerable Is the Mediterranean to Tsunami Risks? A STRONGLY ENCOURAGED READ IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE ON LAND OR SEA.

Over 2,500 years ago a Greek general identified the link between quakes and tsunamis, but how often have tsunamis plagued the Mediterranean? An expert tells us how to identify mega-waves of the distant past – and the future risks

Revelation 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

17 And the seventh (7) angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city (Neom Babylon) was divided into three ‘3’ parts, and the cities of the NATIONS fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

(Worldwide 10.0 magnitude, tectonic-plate-splitting earthquake and resulting ‘MEGA’ tsunamis. How high? I don’t know. Think the movie ‘2012’ if you have seen it.)

On Saturday evening, an underwater volcano in the South Pacific erupted. As steam, volcanic ash and debris shot 20 kilometers (12 miles) into the air, the shock waves sent tsunamis spreading in all directions, first hitting the adjacent island nation of (5) Tonga and later Hawaii, California, New Zealand and Japan.

The waves making landfall weren’t huge, but damage did ensue. As of this writing, three possible casualties in Tonga had been reported, though not confirmed.

But actually any undersea eruption of noticeable magnitude is bound to unleash tsunami waves, says Prof. Beverly Goodman-Tchernov, head of the University of Haifa’s Marine Geosciences Department at the Charney School of Marine Sciences.

The question is what sort of tsunami waves. Experts refer to two categories of sources: “near-field,” a nearby source such as a landslide, which tends to have a more localized effect, and “far-field” large events that occur offshore, which can affect a greater range of coastlines. The Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’apai volcano was a far-field type.

We who live on the balmy Mediterranean Sea may feel we’re safe from the mega-quakes and tsunamis that have wreaked devastation in the Pacific, and more rarely in the Atlantic. We are not.

The Mediterranean region is seismically frisky, boasts a few impressive volcanoes (even a super-volcano, Campi Flegrei) and has a history of tsunami action, not that there are clear records of the anomalous waves. The fact is, most people in a position to closely observe a paleo-tsunami probably drowned, and the survivors wouldn’t necessarily have understood the context.

So what applies worldwide applies to the Mediterranean as well. Undersea volcanism is only one of many potential causes of tsunamis, which are usually not a single event but a series of waves – in the ocean, a sea, even lakes. And most dangerously for the likes of Tel Aviv, they spread inland via river valleys.

Prehistoric mega-tsunamis split Britain from Europe long before Brexit

Doggerland wasn’t destroyed by tsunami but by climate change, new study suggests

The most common cause that people have heard of is an underwater earthquake. When a portion of seabed rises or falls in a quake, so does the water column above it. The displaced water “wants” to spread.

As the waves advance from deep to shallower water and approach the shore, their volume and energy is preserved, thus they erode the seafloor, their speed slows and their height grows. A tsunami mere centimeters high in the open ocean may be meters high when it hits the shore. The highest tsunami in recorded history reached 524 meters (1,720 feet), dousing the Lituya Fjord in Alaska in 1958 after a quake.

That quake didn’t directly cause the tsunami at Lituya Bay. What did was the ensuing landslide into the sea. That calamity originated on land, but underwater landslides are a thing too and a key cause of tsunamis on the Israeli coast.

“The reality is that anything that causes significant-enough water displacement can result in a tsunami,” Goodman-Tchernov says. “If sediment on a submerged slope builds up to a point that it fails, as that material moves, it pushes the water and displaces it – that can create quite large tsunamis.”

How large? Potentially enormous; a collapse along the Norwegian continental shelf 8,000 years ago is believed to have triggered a series of mega-tsunamis that washed over the Doggerland land bridge and rolled high onto the Paleolithic British coast.

Another potential cause is meteorite impact. The asteroid that killed almost all the dinosaurs slammed into the Gulf of Mexico, setting off world-spanning mega-tsunamis as much as a mile high, scientists estimate. The wave could have been higher if the meteorite had hit deep ocean rather than shallow sea.

‘11’ Verses, A ‘WARNING.’

Revelation 8 And when he had opened the seventh (7) seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

And I saw the seven (7) angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven (7) trumpets.

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

And the seven (7) angels which had the seven (7) trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

One last cause is we. “There have been man-made tsunamis – minor, but still – from testing bombs,” Goodman-Tchernov says. At least we’ve never created one that’s been terribly damaging, she adds. Well, the day is young.

Shaky in the Mediterranean ‘ocean’

Though it hasn’t suffered a mega-tsunami like those seen in the Indian Ocean or Japan (‘and EVERY ISLAND fled away) in recent history, the Mediterranean has had, and will have, its share of these waves, including – it seems – one monster that’s believed to have hit Dor on the Israeli coast about 4,500 years ago.

“The Mediterranean has all of the hazards. People think of it as a quiet vacation destination, but the reality is, it has all the features of the large ocean, including the tectonic activity and deep basins. It has the bathymetry [underwater topography] that includes the potential for landslides, and it even has a few volcanoes,” Goodman-Tchernov says, referring chiefly to Italy’s Etna and Thera on Santorini island in the Aegean. “Meteorite impacts are, of course, equal opportunity worldwide, including the Mediterranean.”

Historical records of tsunamis are rare and oblique, but what else could the Athenian general and historian Thucydides have been talking about in his “History of the Peleponnesian War” written 2,500 years ago? The Peloponnesians and their allies invaded but were deterred by earthquakes, he wrote.

As Thucydides put it, “About the same time (Euboea being then troubled with earthquakes), the sea came in at Orobiae on the part which then was land and, being impetuous withal, overflowed most part of the city, whereof part it covered and part it washed down and made lower in the return so that it is now sea which before was landAnd the people, as many as could not prevent it by running up into the higher ground, perished.” (Translated by Thomas Hobbes in 1843.)

Thucydides then described similar events in Atalanta and Peparethus. The historian may have been among the first to deduce the underlying trigger: “And it seemeth unto me that without an earthquake such an accident could never happen”

Revelation 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Goodman-Tchernov notes that a terrestrial quake may trigger not only landslides on land and at sea, but also a sequence of quakes along the same system.

Caesarea, tsunami magnet

An expert on identifying paleo-tsunamis, Goodman-Tchernov has done a great deal of work in Caesarea, a port city on the Mediterranean that goes back more than two thousand years and flourished in the Roman, Islamic and Crusader periods. There she has spent over 20 years recording and analyzing deposits both on land and in the sea with the Israel Antiquities Authority and other partners, identifying both historically noted tsunamis as well as ones without any known written record.

Absent historical records either because there were no witnesses or because the observers died, fled or were illiterate, records did not survive, or the witnesses couldn’t write in the first place. Thus the discovery of physical remains is the only recourse.

Identifying such prehistoric or later unrecorded tsunamis relies on identifying anomalous sediment layers, debris and destruction with the hallmarks of tsunami inundation; for example, seashells a couple of kilometers inland. Identifying paleo-tsunamis relies on basic sedimentology.

“We look at what is deposited on the landscape and try to reconstruct what its source was,” Goodman-Tchernov explains. Researchers compare with bona fide tsunami deposits, going through an exhaustive elimination process regarding what could have caused anomalous deposits; for instance, agglomerations that seem to have elements of land, sea, river, garbage and debris. “We’re not proving anything; we’re disproving every other possibility.”

Her work has led her to the observation that near-field tsunamis can have quite localized impacts; you might find evidence of an ancient inundation along the shore in one place but not in nearby sites.

“Caesarea has been a tsunami magnet. It’s unusual,” she says, though immediately qualifies for the benefit of the city’s residents that this could be due to sampling bias; that is, that’s where the researchers have been looking. Or it could be that Caesarea really is in the sweet spot for more than one of the offshore slumps along the coast.

Why might the impact of a landside-triggered tsunami be lesser than, say, the Tongo volcano blowing underwater? The models suggest that a slump pushes water away from it outward; the least-impacted places seem to be immediately in front of where the slide happened, Goodman-Tchernov notes. When you have an undersea earthquake or eruption, the shock spreads as concentric circles from a single point.

So there are slumps off Israel’s coast – at Palmahim, the Dor disturbance – offshore mapping shows where there have been past sediment failures. And it’s possible that these cause the tsunamis at Caesarea.

“The bottom line is that there are different sources. Some will affect a larger part of the Mediterranean – which doesn’t mean the waves are bigger, necessarily. They may be bigger in the distribution of the effect but not necessarily in terms of the impact on each coastline,” she says.

“Take the far-field 1956 quake along the Hellenic arc near Crete that caused very large tsunamis nearby. Crete was hit by waves some 10 meters high or more. The waves reached the Israeli coast too but had petered out; the only evidence for it was a perturbance recorded on tidal gauges. The normal pattern changed. But it didn’t cause any local damage that we know of.”

Tsunami-tinted glasses

Whether a tsunami roaring toward Israel was caused by earthquakes near Greece or Turkey, or an offshore slump near Caesarea, what matters to us is how much warning time we have.

Can they be predicted? Nope, not until a triggering event has occurred. Not that there is such thing as estimating how frequent tsunamis can be anywhere.

“When talking about frequency in the Mediterranean, we hear a lot of people throwing out a value of a significant tsunami around every 600 ‘6’ years. This number is a little bit misleading,” Goodman-Tchernov puts it courteously, then proceeds to rubbish the theory.

“It presumes that, one, we know about all the tsunamis, and, two, it gives us the false impression that these things occur in some kind of consistent pattern, which is absolutely untrue. An average of 600 years means nothing. In fact, what I’m seeing through my research is that the variation in the gaps between events are extreme.”

In some cases, she sees evidence for tsunamis so close in time that they may actually have been from the same triggering event, or within a year of each other. Or nothing for a thousand years. Caesarea, for example, seems to have had quiet for 1,600 years; there is no evidence of a tsunami in that time.

So does that mean one is overdue? Again: No. Could be. We don’t know, and Tel Avivians, snigger not. We’re at special risk because if and when, displaced seawater could come roaring up the Yarkon River where it feeds into the sea. So averages and suchlike don’t help us whatsoever.

“As people we love to have averages, but it’s really artificial. We do it all the time, talking of 50-year storms, but these numbers are relevant mainly to insurance companies, not the natural world,” Goodman-Tchernov says. Indeed, in this era of climate change, such figures are rendered more irrelevant than ever before.

Could global warming and ocean warming affect the tsunami risk? Apparently not; finally something isn’t a function of climate change.

But doesn’t it seem, just as our planet is warming, that tsunamis are on the rise? They are not – not necessarily – the professor reassures us. It’s just that after the horrendous Indonesian tsunamis of 2004, more attention – including by the Israeli government – is being paid to the phenomenon. People are wearing tsunami-tinted glasses, Goodman-Tchernov laughs.

But as sea levels rise, and they are, more and more communities are at risk with the commensurate potential for property damage and loss of life. And if you’re in Tel Aviv, don’t snort at the “tsunami evacuation route” signs. You may think you’re running madly for higher ground, but actually you’ll be racing full speed toward the Yarkon River Valley.

NEOM BABYLON:

Revelatin 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city (Neom Babylon) was divided into three ‘3’ parts, and the cities of the NATIONS fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Babylon (NEOM):

Revelation 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

17 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

18 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

19 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

Commentary: “great city” is a descriptive reference for the physical city of Babylon. This is not a descriptive reference to Mystery Religion Babylon. Babylon City is described as “great” (not in a positive sense, but in a negative sense) because of what the city does throughout the earth during the Tribulation. It serves as a home-base for the Mystery Religion of Babylon. It serves as the capital for the Babylon kingdom. The city is decked out in massive, earthly wealth and material splendor. The glory of Jesus Christ or God is not found anywhere in Babylon City.  Worship of Jesus Christ and God is not found anywhere in the city. The city is home to all sorts of foul, evil/unclean spirits and likewise men. As far as the values of evil men, the great city of Babylon has it all. Everything evil can be found in Babylon City, the “great city.” Nonetheless, Babylon City is crushed within one hour during the Day of the Lord’s return. A massive, worldwide earthquake splits this city into three parts. The destruction so great and consuming, that smoke of her burning can be seen many miles away at sea. Businessmen and merchants don’t want to go anywhere near the “great city” because they are afraid that they might receive the same fate due to association. They lament, because their best customer just got hammered and their gravy train has ended. Thus, their profits and gain have so ended. So much for the “great city.” It was quickly thrown away and destroyed just like a giant mill-stone thrown into the sea. Never to be found again.

Seven-fold Dooms on Babylon City:

  1. All plagues come in one day, one hour, death, mourning, famine, burning with fire. (Rev. 18:8, 10)
  2. The great city is divided into three parts by the great earthquake on the Day of the Lord. (Rev. 16:19)
  3. No music will be heard. (Rev. 18:22)
  4. No craftsman (industry) will be found. (Rev. 18:22)
  5. No millstone (delicious dining, restaurants) will be found. (Rev. 18:22)
  6. No light (artificial or natural) will shine. (Rev. 18:23)
  7. Voice of the bridegroom and bride (marriages) will not be heard. (Rev. 18:23)

Commentary: These verses describe what happens to the capital city of an evil empire, when God brings his ‘celestial hammer of wrath’. The city gets hammered and pounded into oblivion. (Rev. 18:21) … “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” The basic things of city living disappear within an hour. An earthquake splits the city into three parts. The burning and smoke from the city can be seen for many miles offshore by sailors, and captains of vessels who transported wealth to Babylon’s docks. (Rev. 17:17). Also, kings of the world and merchants plying their merchandise with Babylon can see the smoke from her destruction and are severely pained because they know their best customer has been destroyed along with their livelihood. They are also afraid for themselves and keep their distance, in case they might receive the same wrath as Babylon. (Rev. 17:11, 17:15, 17-19).

Seven-fold Luxuries of Babylon City:

  1. Luxury metals and stones (fine gold, silver, precious stones, pearls). (Rev. 18:12)
  2. Luxury clothing (fine linens, silks, color dyes). (Rev. 18:12)
  3. Luxury building materials (precious woods, ivory, brass, iron, marble). (Rev. 18:12)
  4. Luxury produce (exquisite herbs, fragrances, ointments, wine, oil, flour, wheat). (Rev. 18:13)
  5. Luxury meat products / animals (beasts, sheep, horses).(Rev. 18:13 )
  6. Luxury cars and transportation (chariots). (Rev. 18:13)
  7. Human slave trade and sex-trafficking (slaves and souls of men). (Rev. 18:13)

Commentary: This looks like today’s shopping list of the rich and famous, and of the political and financial elite of the world. I believe this covers everything materialistic that is generally valued around the world today (and in the future). There is nothing mundane, routine or common among these delicacies. Babylon is built on luxurious living and is the center of worldwide trade of these items and merchandise. These things are literally brought into Babylon by the ship loads (Rev. 18:17-19), “For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off.” These items are considered luxurious because they are extremely expensive! (Rev. 18:19, “the great city was made rich by all the ships of the sea by reason of her costliness.”) (Emphasis added). The people in Babylon are extremely materialistic and glorify themselves through their wealth, but are spiritually evil and bankrupt. Demand for luxury items is so great that merchants of the earth have become wealthy themselves by providing these luxuries (Rev. 18:3, “and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.”) (Emphasis added). Both supply (merchants) and demand (people in Babylon) worship the created things and not God, the Creator. The worship of and reliance on luxury items plays right into the hands of the Mystery Religion of Babylon. Keep in mind that all these players (merchants and Babylon citizens), all have the mark of the beast and his system. They are allowed to sell and buy through the complicity and authority of the antichrist’s economic machinations via having the mark. Hypothetically speaking, I wouldn’t be surprised if the wealthy in Babylon view the antichrist’s ‘mark’ as a luxury brand symbol or something equivalent. Sad, very sad (understatement).

Interestingly, there is a parallel condemnation of wealth and materialism regarding the church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22). During the time when John received the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Laodicea was a leading banking center, and known for manufacturing garments made from a soft, black wool. Additionally, Laodicea was also home to a famous medical school that specialized in the treatment of eye diseases. The city had a lot going for it economically. The Laodicea church also benefited financially from the surrounding strong economy. The city was so strong financially, that in AD 60 when it was destroyed by an earthquake, Laodicea paid for its own reconstruction instead of asking Rome for rebuilding funds. As a result of the Laodecian church’s self-sufficiency and affluence, they received a strong rebuke from Jesus. The church considered itself wealthy and self-sufficient, instead, Jesus viewed this church very differently. He saw this church as “wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked”, using metaphors from the local economy that surrounded the church. “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing: and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” (Rev. 3:17). While the church thought it had everything, it had nothing. They confused material prosperity and comfort with spiritual health and security. The Bible teaches that the rich (and very rich, by today’s standards) are often tempted to rely upon themselves, while the poor often turn to the Lord for help. Jesus challenges his people to trust in him rather than in material possessions, and to use things to meet the needs of others (Deut. 8:10-14; Prov. 30:8-9; Matt. 6:19-24; Luke 12:13-21; 1 Tim. 6:6-10, 17-19). Physical wealth and comfort can foster spiritual complacency and self-reliance. Affluence tempts us to forget God. The message to the church of Laodicea illustrates the power of forgetting God, do to materialistic affluence.

From an economic point of view, the parallel between Babylon and Laodicea is staggering. The rebuke that Jesus gave the church of Laodicea is generally considered to be one of the strongest rebukes given to the five churches who were in need of correction. Keep in mind that Jesus’ rebuke was to those members in his own house (church). Babylon has the same evil symptoms, but on steroids! Citizens of Babylon and worshippers of Mystery Religion Babylon are swimming in luxury, wealth, materialism and self-sufficiency. Greed is rampant.  They are not members of Jesus’ church and they do not acknowledge or worship the Creator who made the material wealth they worship and enjoy. Revelation 18:7 indicates, “How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously. ” (Emphasis added). God is not remotely on their spending or spiritual radar. They are utterly deceived by their materialism and love of luxury and ‘delicious living’. Since Jesus strongly rebuked the Loadicean church members, how much more so will God pour out His wrath on Babylon, who openly rejects him for the love of wealth? The Loadicean church received rebuke from Jesus, Babylon will receive total destruction by God. This should be a message to today’s churches who preach the prosperity gospel. God is not against a person being prosperous, however, he is against the amount of prosperity that fosters complacency and self-sufficiency. He is also against the level of wealth that fosters wealth worship (greed) at the expense of forgetting one’s relationship with God and Jesus Christ.

Six-fold Descriptive Names of Babylon City:

Commentary: Descriptive references (not name or title conventions). Four of the evil references are related to a female (queen, no widow, woman, whore). The remaining references are to an evil city. We know these references are evil because there are six (6) of them and they describe the evil, physical city of Babylon City and those who dwell within it.

Six (6) evil references or verses describing the evil Babylon City. Seven, six and four repetitions of the evil descriptive elements have divine meaning. Even the combinations of the evil descriptive elements and the number of their repetitions contain divine meaning and truth.

Five-Fold Reference to Seven (7) Heads:

  5. … “And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” (Rev. 17:9). (Emphasis added).

Commentary: Verse 17:9 clears up the symbolism of the “seven heads.” Crowns = Mountains. They are the seven (7) mountains where Babylon resides, sits or rests upon. These could be individual mountains, mountain ranges or mountains within a mountain range. In any case, these are mountains and not hills. Physical Babylon city rests nestled with seven (7) physical, geographic mountains. There are many verses in chapter 18 (15, 17, 19 and 21) which indicate that Babylon city is also within easy eyesight of sea(s) or ocean(s). As indicated, physical Babylon city rests within 7 (seven) mountains in close proximity to sea routes.

And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! For in one hour is she made desolate. Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” (Rev. 18:15-21). • The Midian Mountains are a range that extends from the Northwest of NEOM to the Southeast of NEOM, directly through the center of NEOM’s geographical footprint.
  • Jabal Al-Lawz, is the central-most point (and highest mountain) in NEOM and of the Midian Mountains.
  • Jabal Al-Lawz, the highest mountain sits at apx. 2,500 meters.
  • The Christ angle (from the great pyramid of Giza in Egypt) points directly to (and through) Bethlehem (birth place of Christ) and to (and through) the mountain known as Jabal Al Lawz in the MIDDLE of NEOM Babylon (birth place of the Antichrist?). Both Bethlehem and Jabal Al Lawz sit on EXACTLY the same point of longitude (35.2 East)
  • Bethlehem (in Israel) latitude and longitude = 31°70’53”N 35°19’36”E
  • Jabal Al Lawz (in NEOM Babylon) latitude and longitude = 28°39′16″N 35°18′18″E

  • Jabal Al-Lawz is debated as being the original Mt. Sinai of Biblical antiquity. Galatians 4:25 … “Mount Sinai in Arabia.” (Exodus 19:2, 19:11, 19:18, 19:20, 19:23, 24:16, 31:18, 34:2, 34:4, 34:29, 34:32, Leviticus 7:38, 25:1, 26:46, 27:34, Numbers 3:1, 28:6, Deuteronomy 33:2, Judges 5:5, Nehemiah 9:13, Galatians 4:24).
  • Is it an ironic coincidence that this mountain is the largest mountain in all of NEOM?

NEOM is on track to be the world’s first “sustainable” city. The world’s ‘LAST BABYLON.’ AKA, the ‘BEAST’s SEAT’. The ‘seven’ mountains are colored scarlet and purple due to the volcanic mineral content in rocks.

Matthew 24:42; Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Matthew 25:13; Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:35; Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning.

Luke 21:36; Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man

Luke 12:37-39; Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:

The ABCs of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)

A. Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.

. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.

. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

C. Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (John 1:8-10).

. . . “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (John 2:2).

. . . “In this was manifested the love of god toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:9, 14-15).

. . . “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:8-10).

. . . “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

. . . “Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

. . . “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” (Romans 1:16).

. . . “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts: 4:12).

. . . “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:4-6).

. . . “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

. . . “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).

True Church / Bride of Christ Spared from God’s Wrath:

Romans 5:8-10. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”

Romans 12:19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 8:35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Jeremiah 30:7. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
