Typhoon “Vamco” strikes the Philippines, leaving a massive trail of destruction

Posted by Teo Blašković on November 12, 2020 Watchers.news

Typhoon “Vamco” — known locally as the Ulysses — struck the Philippines on November 11, 2020, with maximum sustained winds of 155 km/h (96 mph) and gusts to 205 km/h (127 mph). This is the 21st (7+7+7) named storm to hit the country this year and the 4th in the past month– after Molave, Etau, and Goni (super typhoon). It is also the 22nd named storm of the 2020 Pacific typhoon season and the 10th typhoon.

Vamco left a massive trail of destruction, millions without power, at least two people dead, 4 missing, and nearly 200 000 displaced.

Bicol, the worst affected by Super Typhoon “Goni,” was the first to feel Vamco’s powerful winds and rain. Many people there remain without power with only limited or no telecommunication services after Goni.

The storm then battered Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Metro Manila, unleashing powerful winds and torrential rain that left neighborhoods submerged and people appealing for aid and rescue, the Rappler reports.

Social media sites were flooded with pictures of inundated villages with rooftops barely peering through the water’s surface.

Metro Manila woke up to major flooding, described as the worst in years. Authorities used boats to reach people stranded on rooftops or trapped in their homes.

Even some areas that were historically not flooded, such as the City Hall, were now submerged, PhilStar reported.

More than 3.8 million customers in and around Manila were left without power.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has dispatched all of its disaster response units to affected areas, the Philippine News Agency (PNA) said, adding that AFP is monitoring the situation along the Marikina River that is experiencing heavy flooding.

“Evacuation is ongoing, with the Naval Task Group of the JTF-NCR joining city disaster risk and reduction units with their rubber boats, trucks, and personnel,” AFP Chief of Staff, Gen. Gilbert Gapay, said in a statement Thursday.

Roughly 40 000 homes had been either fully or partially submerged in Marikina City, according to Mayor Marcelino Teodoro.

Teodoro described the situation as ‘overwhelming’ and the worst since Typhoon “Ketsana” (Ondoy) flooded large swathes of Manila in 2009. Ketsana affected nearly 900 000 people and is considered the most devastating typhoon to hit Manila, surpassing Typhoon “Patsy” (Yoling) in 1970. It left at least 464 people dead across the country.

The Marikina River rose to 21.8 m (71.5 feet) by 09:04 LT on November 12, which is the highest water level seen since 2009.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday assured that the national government will provide relief, rescue, and assistance to severely affected families, adding that no one will be left behind.

Flight operations resumed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 08:00 LT on November 12, after authorities announced suspending flight operations from 00:00 LT on November 11.

“We were open at 8 a.m. International flights already started check-in. PAL (Philippine Airlines) domestic has only one flight today, which is bound for Cebu later at 4 p.m.,” Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Public Affairs Department’s officer-in-charge Consuelo Bungag told PNA

Residents in the Pollilo Islands, Camarines Norte, and in Central Luzon were forced to evacuate on November 10, a day before Vamco made landfall, as well as more than 12 000 in Bicol. However, reports say many of them refused to leave.

Over 2 071 passengers were stranded in ports in multiple regions of Luzon as sea conditions worsened.

At 08:00 UTC on November 12, Vamco’s center was located about 200 km (124 miles) west of Iba, Zambales. It had maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h (75 mph) and gusts to 150 km/h (95 mph), according to PAGASA.

It was moving W at 25 km/h (15 mph).

Moderate to heavy rains are expected until tonight (LT) over Cordillera Administrative Region, the eastern portions of Cagayan and Isabela, Zambales, Bataan, Aurora, Cavite, the western portion of Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island.

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains are expected over Western Visayas, Samar Provinces, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.

Flooding (including flash floods), rain-induced landslides, and sediment-laden streamflows (i.e. lahar) may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards and/or those that received significant antecedent rainfall.

Over the next 24 hours, the combined effects of Typhoon “Vamco” and the surge of the Northeast Monsoon will bring rough to very rough seas (2.5 to 6.0 m / 8 to 20 feet) over the seaboards of areas under TCWS, Northern Luzon, and Occidental Mindoro and the western seaboards of Batangas and Palawan including Calamian and Kalayaan Islands. Sea travel is risky for all types of vessels over these waters.

Moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 2.5 m / 5 – 8 feet) will be experienced over the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, the seaboards of Cuyo Islands, and the western seaboard of Panay Island.

Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions, PAGASA said.

The typhoon is expected to intensify over the next 24 hours and then weaken as it moves toward landfall in Central Vietnam.

Napier under state of emergency after heaviest rain in almost 60 (6) years, New Zealand

Posted by Julie Celestial on November 11, 2020 Watchers.news

A state of emergency was declared in Napier, New Zealand, after up to 242.4 mm (9.5 inches) of rain triggered damaging floods, landslides, and power outages that affected more than 3 300 homes on Monday, November 9, 2020. The amount of rain that fell in a 12-hour period to Tuesday, November 10, made for the city’s wettest day since 1963 and the second-highest on record, while the rainfall between 04:00 and 05:00 UTC (17:00 and 18:0 LT) was the heaviest hour of rain in 25 (5×5) years.

“Due to the level of flooding that we have had, we’ve had a number of quite severe slips– landslips on our Napier Hill area,” mayor Kirsten Wise told RNZ on Monday. “[There was] a lot of pressure on our infrastructure.”

“We’re also in the process of evacuating a number of households. So it is certainly not a good position to be in, and we just wanted to ensure that we were in the best possible position to be able to keep our community safe.”

According to the Civil Defense, the police had evacuated one side of Havelock Road. It also reported landslips on at least five (5) roads, and 14 roads and streets were closed.

Many schools also announced temporary closure, including five (5)  Tamatea Primary, Porritt Primary, Tamatea Intermediate, Tamatea High, and Fairhaven.

More than 3 300 houses lost electricity. Unison spokesman Danny Gough assured that they have “all available resources on stand-by,” for repairs. “Our crews will still attend to any emergency situations if required.”

“Our conservatory is shin-deep [in water] leading into our house, both the shed and our cars in the driveway are flooded, almost half-way up to the door,” said McGregor Ave resident Carrie Smith, who was one of the affected customers without power. Her vehicles were also among those swept away by floods.

Much of the city center remained underwater on Tuesday morning, prompting residents to kayak and use small boats on streets.

In a statement posted on Tuesday evening, the Fire and Emergency NZ said 135 properties had been assessed, with 23 deemed uninhabitable and 12 of those were significantly damaged.

“Our assessment teams are focusing on people’s welfare in the most impacted areas of Maraenui, Marewa, and Pirimai.”

The city had 242.4 mm (9.5 inches) of rain in a 12 hour period to Tuesday– its wettest in 57 years and the second-highest since 1870. The total included 54 mm (2.1 inches) of rain in a period of one hour, between 04:00 and 05:00 UTC (17:00 and 18:0 LT)– the heaviest hour of rain since 1995.

As of Wednesday morning, November 11, 60 (6) people remain in emergency shelters, 70 (7) homes still have no electricity, and up to three (3) schools are still closed. Minister for Emergency Services Kiri Allan said the damage assessment is at the preliminary stage.

Severe flooding affects more than 83 000 people in the Republic of Congo

Posted by Julie Celestial on November 10, 2020 Watchers.news

Severe flooding triggered by heavy rains since July 2020 has affected more than 83 000 people in the Republic of Congo, according to the World Food Program (WFP), as it announced the funding of 1 million dollars for emergency distributions on Monday, November 9, 2020. A state of humanitarian emergency was declared for the country on November 2 as the departments of Likouala, Sangha, Cuvette, and Plateaux are still reeling from inundations. All the indicators show that the threshold of 170 000 people affected by the floods in 2019 will be significantly exceeded this year.

Since July, intense rains were more than the seasonal average, leading to the overflow of the Ubangi River.

On November 2, the government has declared a state of humanitarian emergency as people are still suffering from major inundations. This applies to the departments of Likouala, Sangha, Cuvette, and Plateaux.

Floodwaters have destroyed wide swaths of crops, forcing premature harvesting and further leading to food insecurity. Homes, schools, and health centers have been damaged or destroyed.

Many livestock animals also perished, sources of clean drinking water have been polluted, and a resurgence of water-borne diseases was reported.

In Likouala alone, at least 83 000 people have been affected in around 81 villages in the seven (7) districts.

On November 9, the WFP announced that 1 million dollars of financial aid will be allocated for the first emergency distributions.

“To date, there are 83 000 people living in six (6) districts of the Likouala Department (north) who are concerned. There are many other districts along the Congo and Oubangu rivers that could be affected in the next few days,” WFP program assistant Josias Gautier Massamouna said.

The government fears that this year’s severe flooding may affect more people than the 2019 floods, which impacted 170 000 citizens.

“All the indicators show that the threshold of 170 000 (7) people affected by the floods in 2019 will be greatly exceeded.”

Massive floods sweep through eastern Libya

Posted by Julie Celestial on November 10, 2020 Watchers.news

Major floods swept through Libya’s eastern region after heavy rains struck on Friday, November 6, 2020, resulting in considerable damage to houses, cars, and public infrastructure. About 7 (7) million dollars have been allocated to deal with the damages in Al-Bayda municipality. A two-day holiday from Monday to Tuesday, November 9 to 10, was declared as affected areas remain flooded.

Authorities said blocked sewers caused floodwaters to enter houses and public facilities, including a hospital in the city center.

The municipal council declared a two-day official holiday beginning Monday, November 9, as the streets remain inundated. The interior ministry warned citizens and motorists to take caution on public roads.

In a statement on Sunday, November 8, the ministry announced a heightened state of alert in all departments of the National Safety Authority (NSA) and emergency services. Police officials remain on standby in case of emergency and to facilitate traffic movement.

Health Minister Dr. Saad Agoub issued urgent instructions to all emergency departments and health services to provide people with necessary health care.

Meanwhile, the head of the steering council of the Municipality of Tobruk, Faraj Boukhatabia, set up an emergency room– including the municipal guard, social affairs agency, NSA, and Red Crescent to accommodate calls from people.

Al-Bayda, the presidential council has allocated an amount of 10 million Libyan dinars or 7 million dollars to provide all the urgent requirements to deal with the situation in the municipality.

UK weather: Weekend washout forecast with 50mph gale-force winds and torrential rain

Dailystar.co.uk November 12, 2020

Torrential rain and gale-force winds are set to sweep into Britain as temperatures plummet. Scotland took the worst of rainfall lashing down over Wednesday night but heavy downpours and fierce gusts felt elsewhere were a sign of what is to come. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has this morning issued eleven (11) flood warnings and 13 (13) alerts today. (‘11’ is the number of warning, ‘13’ is the number of destruction.)

Temperatures dropped as low as 4C in parts during the early hours, with Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill predicting it could be “cold enough for a touch of frost in some sheltered spots”.

Forecasters predict some high pressure will halt the stormy weather for much of Thursday until a return of low pressure alongside a new frontal system in the evening.

Throughout the weekend, starting Friday there will be plenty of heavy rain and strong wind up to 50 (5) mph – despite temperatures potentially reaching 16C on Saturday.

BBC forecaster Stav Danaos said Thursday will “probably be the driest and sunniest day of the week so far”, with plenty of sunshine.

However, cloud coverage into the evening will mean any settled weather is “pretty short-lived” and temperatures will average 11-13C, meaning a drop from yesterday.

Danaos said: “That weather front in the west sweeps across…tonight into Friday morning and then as we head into the weekend another area of low pressure arrives – that’s going to bring a lot of wet and windy weather.

“Once the early rain clears on Friday, it’ll be sunshine and showers, and it turns windy and wetter for Saturday and Sunday, but it will be mild, particularly in the south.”

Mr Burkill, meanwhile, said temperatures will remain higher than average into the weekend due to mild air being dragged up from the southwest by the blustery winds.

Florida’s west coast under storm surge warning from ETA.

 USAToday. November 12, 2020

Tropical Storm Eta is expected to bring life-threatening storm surge to the Florida Gulf Coast early Thursday with heavy rainfall across west and central Florida and possible flash flooding in south Florida.

Eta was about 65 miles north-northwest of St. Petersburg, and moving north at 10 mph with top winds of 60 (6) mph, the National Hurricane Center said in its 1 a.m. EST update.

Eta became a Category 1 hurricane early Wednesday but was downgraded to a tropical storm by the afternoon, and the hurricane watch for portions of the west coast of Florida was discontinued.

“Almost as quickly as Eta regained hurricane status, it then lost it shortly thereafter,” the National Hurricane Center said.

The storm was expected to approach the west-central coast Wednesday evening and rapidly weaken as it moves inland over the northern portion of the Florida peninsula Thursday. Late Thursday and early Friday, Eta is expected to move northeastward into the western Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.

“There is a danger of life-threatening storm surge along portions of the Florida Gulf Coast from Bonita Beach to Suwannee River, including Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor,” the center said.

2020 hurricane season sets yet another record:2 Theta forms in the Atlantic

Eta made landfall in the Florida Keys on Sunday evening and left thousands of Floridians without power. The storm unleashed a deluge that flooded entire neighborhoods and filled some homes with rising water.

“Stay weather aware today South Florida, and have a way to receive warnings!” the National Weather Service Miami-South Florida said on Twitter on Wednesday.

Last week, it was unclear whether the storm would strike Louisiana, which has been hit by five (5)  tropical storms or hurricanes this year an all-time record for the state. But the storm shifted eastward on Tuesday. The National Hurricane Center called the eastward shift “the biggest surprise” of the day’s forecast

The 2020 hurricane season has been relentless and record-breaking.

Eta is the record-breaking 12 (6+6) th named tropical system to strike the continental U.S. this season and was the first tropical storm to make a November landfall in Florida since Mitch in 1998, according to Phil Klotzbach, a Colorado State University meteorologist. Hurricane Eta was also the latest calendar year hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico since Kate in 1985, Klotzbach said.

The record for named storms in a single season was broken early Tuesday morning with the formation of Subtropical Storm Theta far out in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. Theta is the 29th named storm of 2020, breaking the record of 28 from 2005, the National Hurricane Center said. Theta transitioned to a “regular” tropical storm Tuesday afternoon.

The Hurricane Center said Theta poses no immediate threat to any land areas as it spins in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. According to AccuWeather, this is the latest in the calendar year that there were two storms swirling simultaneously in the Atlantic basin since Nov. 10, 1932.

Elsewhere, yet another system could evolve over the Caribbean late this week to this weekend, according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. Hurricane season doesn’t end until Nov. 30, although storms sometimes form after that date.

‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’, an ‘Armada’ of Arks Around the World. Have you boarded the ‘correct’ Ark?

Night Watchman Note; ‘THE GRAND DADDY SIGN’. That is what ‘watchmen or women’ do. Jesus made clear that when He actually does come for His disciples, His wise and faithful servants would be aware of the time because they would be watching. They would know the season of the times by WATCHING those things ‘coming to pass or occurring’ as Jesus said they would. The ‘BENCHMARK SIGN(s)’ always point towards Israel / Jacob. God’s prophetic timepiece. The FALSE PEACE COVENANT confirmed by the Prince/Beast among MENA (the many) is the ‘key sign’ of the times or the season of the times. Yes, we are in that period. The Prince/Beast will likely confirm and enhance the current ‘normalization’ agreement with Jacob to be a ‘peace’ agreement, to be extended to 7 years from the current 5 years, to include some agreement permitting the rebuilding of the third temple in exchange for ‘some portion of Jerusalem.’ The current ‘investment’ period for the Palestinians stands at five (5) years. This will likely occur AFTER the Bride, Disciples or True Church is removed from the earth via the Rapture / Harpazo / Redemption / ‘Twinkling’.

Confirmation for Seven (7) Years

Daniel 9:26-27 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

US President Donald Trump has predicted that Saudi Arabia will be among up to 10 further countries preparing to ‘normalize’ their relations with Israel.

The meaning was obvious: The country [Saudi Arabia] is tired of waiting for Palestinians to make peace and is preparing to move on. The message to foreign capitals, perhaps to Washington in particular, is equally clear: The time is coming when a deal may be done.

Prophetic Discernment: Two ‘Scenarios’. I am not ‘dogmatic’ about either one. Other scenarios could come into play. THE POINT … is how close we are!

Trump may still yet get the Beast to agree for ‘MENA’ the ‘CURRENT’ plan, SHORTLY, in the few remaining days left in the ‘Last Trump’ or ‘Last Trumpence’ Presidency. Saudis may be ‘nervous’ about the Biden election and want to get the ‘deal done and finished’ while Trump is in the twilight of his presidency.

The Rapture

The following would take place AFTER the Rapture: Biden/Harris may work to ‘ENHANCE’ the plan by the literal splitting of Jerusalem along the 1967 lines. An ‘exchange’ of sovereignty to get a temple for the Jews and to give the Beast custodianship of al-Aqsa … that which he covets. The plan will be ‘ENHANCED’ (investment wise for the Palestinians) for Seven (7) years. Perhaps the investment amount will also be increased.

Or

Rapture

Then the following: Beast ‘ENHANCES’ the plan under Biden, by splitting Jerusalem along 1967 lines. In a ‘Give up Sovereignty, Get a Temple’ scenario. The plan finally gets ‘CONFIRMED’ or approved shortly, under Biden/Harris (Deceiver-in-Chief and Jezebel-in-Chief).

Either way, the Rapture / Harpazo / Redemption / ‘Twinkling’ is imminent.

Prophecy has a ‘window.’ That window is closing shortly and quickly. As is the door in the ‘Age of Grace’ for the world.

Pay ‘Eagle-Eye’ attention to the world geo-political news feeds over the next 10 days to see if any type of ‘confirmation’ is forthcoming or made by the Prince / Beast/ 8th King / Son of Perdition / Future Antichrist / Man of Lawlessness. Also MbS, Man-by-Satan and the Confirmer and he that causeth the Abomination of Desolation in April 2024. Trump may surprise the world and suddenly proclaim that a deal has been reach or agreed upon by Saudi Arabia and at least nine (3×3) other Arab/Muslim countries from MENA. If nothing happens over the next 10 days, it is possible the entire covenant could be ‘strengthened and confirmed’ AFTER the rapture. This is a very real possibility. Be warned and hopeful.

Make Your Decision for Christ NOW!!!!!!! Time is Up!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:

The ABCs of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)

A. Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.

. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.

. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

C. Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (John 1:8-10).

. . . “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (John 2:2).

. . . “In this was manifested the love of god toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:9, 14-15).

. . . “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:8-10).

. . . “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

. . . “Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

. . . “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” (Romans 1:16).

. . . “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts: 4:12).

. . . “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:4-6).

. . . “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

. . . “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).

True Church / Bride of Christ Spared from God’s Wrath:

Romans 5:8-10. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”

Romans 12:19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 8:35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Jeremiah 30:7. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
