Extreme Wildfires Update

Wildfires in southwest Utah: Updates from Turkey Farm Road, West Veyo and Big Summit fires. US.

Foreshadow Now, ‘Season of the End Times’:

Blog note. Jesus indicated that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency, size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’ that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period

… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11).
… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)
… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken; (Luke 21:26)
… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy 3:1)

Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like a woman having labor.

Revelation 6:7-8 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

(‘fourth part’ = 25% = *7.7 billion x .25 = 1.93 billion people) *estimated earth population as of March 2020.

Three large wildfires continued to burn through red-flag level heat and windy conditions Thursday as hundreds of crews battle blazes between St. George and Cedar City.

LIVE UPDATES

Update: Friday, 11:30 a.m.

Both the Turkey Farm Road Fire and West Veyo Fire 40% contained

The Turkey Farm Road Fire and West Veyo Fire burning north of St. George are now respectively 40% contained, fire officials said.

The acreage has remained the same as yesterday.

Turkey Farm Road Fire has crept into the Red Cliff National Conservation Area, essential for threatened desert tortoises.

Drone halts operations at Turkey Farm Road Fire, though 25% contained, new tipline for suspects

The Turkey Farm Road Fire burning north of St. George has been updated to 25% containment as of Wednesday night and was held at 11,993 acres.

Fire officials reported firefighting operations were halted due to a drone intrusion yesterday. Smoky, windy and hot environments coupled with low flying planes in a tightly managed space make any outside intrusion extremely dangerous.

“Wildland fire managers want the public to know that unauthorized drone flights near a wildfire have the very real potential to cause serious injury or even death to firefighters and pilots who are in the air, as well as firefighters and public citizens on the ground,” USDA Forest Service public information officer Kevin Abel said in a press release.

The fire was allegedly started by three “male teenagers” using illegal fireworks on July 13. As the suspects have not been apprehended, fire officials have started a tip line at (775) 355-5337 for anyone with information on the teens.

West Veyo Fire 20% contained, FEMA sends funds to help

Firefighters were able to slow a fast-moving wildfire overnight in West Veyo, raising containment to 20%.

As of Thursday morning, the Veyo West Fire had spread to 2,618 acres a decrease from the previously reported 2,900 acres after an infrared flight recorded a more accurate figure.

All evacuations put in place at the beginning of the week have been canceled.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Monday it would help cover the state’s costs in fighting the blaze, with FEMA Regional Administrator Lee dePalo approving the state’s request for a federal Fire Management Assistance Grant after determining that the fire threatened such destruction as would “constitute a major disaster,” according to a release from the agency.

The National Weather Service started a red flag warning for Thursday, warning of high heat and winds which can exacerbate fires.

Big Summit Fire

Iron County evacuated 20 homes overnight in the Wilderness/Chokeberry area of Hamlin Valley as the Big Summit Fire has grown to 5,076 acres. Hamblin area road is closed. No structures have been burned yet.

The blaze, which started in Nevada and spilled into Utah, is currently 10% contained with full containment expected on Monday.

Fire officials are concerned about excessive heat and possible dry lightning, with red flag warnings abound.

Timber, brush and short grass are fueling the blaze, while the cause is still unknown.

Update: 3:15 p.m.

Turkey Farm Road Fire measures 11,993 acres

The Turkey Farm Road Fire burning north of St. George was still 0% contained as of Wednesday afternoon, and had measured 11,993 acres per the most recent aerial mapping survey, according to an update from the interagency fire group assigned to the fire.

The blaze, which had at one point forced a brief evacuation in Washington City and closed several secondary roads in the hills west of the city, was still burning through pinyon and juniper trees, dry brush and grass, according to the latest update.

“Air resources will be making water and retardant drops as needed throughout the day while crews engage directly along the fire’s edge where it is safe to do so in order to establish containment lines,” according to the update, which was sent to media shortly after 3 p.m.

A large team was assigned to the fire, including 12 engines, two separate firefighting crews and five helicopters.

Update: 2 p.m.

Smoke in the air causes health worries

According to AirNow, an air quality measurement tool developed by the Environmental Protection Agency and its partners, smoke is quickly being spread as far east as Colorado and west into parts of central Nevada.

“It’s basically from St. George stretching northeast up as far as Capitol Reef and as far east as Lake Powell being dense and then if you go a little farther east it’s not as dense,” said Mark Struthwolf, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “That was about 9 o’clock this morning and if you go to 2 o’clock this afternoon, it shows that the heating of the day and lower humidity will get the fires going again.”

For the next few days, as the fires continue to burn out, the smokiest time of the day will be late at night from around midnight to early morning hours, Struthwolf said.

Update: Noon

Weather conditions expected to worsen

Hot temperatures and windy conditions are expected to make life challenging Wednesday afternoon for the hundreds of firefighters battling wildfires in Washington and Iron counties.

A Red Flag Warning was put into effect for the entire area, with the area’s largest fire, the Turkey Farm Road Fire north of St. George, still at 0% containment, according to the latest update from the Utah interagency fire group.

Residents should expect to continue to see aircraft and heavy equipment headed to combat the blaze, along with the nearby West Veyo Fire to the west of the Pine Valley mountains and the Big Summit Fire, which was farther to the northwest along the Utah-Nevada border north of Enterprise.

Update: 11:45 a.m.

3 teens still wanted

Three “male teenagers” were still wanted on suspicion of having started the nearly-12,000-acre Turkey Farm Road Fire with illegal fireworks on Monday, interagency fire officials said on Wednesday.

The three were described as having been seen driving away in the area on Cottonwood Road in a white sedan at about 9 p.m. on July 13, officials said.

Utah Fire Info is asking anyone with information on the Turkey Farm Road fire’s suspects to contact 435-704-4456.

Update: 10:30 a.m.

West Veyo Fire growth slows

The West Veyo Fire was measured at a little under 2,700 acres as of late Tuesday, a slight decrease from earlier in the day as fire behavior had slowed since the blaze began on Monday.

The blaze was still measured as 0% contained though, as crews had not established any permanent secure lines around the perimeter of the burn area, according to an interagency spokesperson assigned to the incident.

Update: 9 a.m.

Firefighting cost estimates soar into the millions

Fire officials were still battling three major wildfires in Washington and Iron counties Wednesday morning.

The Turkey Farm Road Fire, the largest in the area, was measured at 11,700 acres as it burnted to the north of St. George and had 95 firefighters assigned to help fight it, according to a morning update from the National Interagency Coordination Center. An estimated $1 million had been spent fighting the fire so far, with three helicopters among the resources dedicated to slowing its spread.

The Big Summit Fire, burning along the Utah-Nevada border at Hamlin Valley, was estimated at 4,000 acres and had also cost some $1 million to fight. It had required evacuations of all residences in Hamlin Valley on Tuesday.

The Veyo West Fire was at 2,850 acres, with more than 200 fire personnel assigned to it as it continued to burn north and west of Veyo and Brookside. It had cost an estimated $564,000 to fight so far.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The fireworks-caused Turkey Farm Road Fire north of St. George had burned nearly 12,000 acres northward across the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, briefly forcing evacuations in the Green Spring area of Washington City and threatening hundreds of homes as federal firefighting crews worked together with local agencies to keep the blaze away from populated areas.

The blaze had burned through thousands of acres of red-rock scenery south of the Pine Valley mountains and was still 0% contained as of late Tuesday.

In northwest Washington County, evacuations had been lifted by early Tuesday after the West Veyo Fire blazed its way through the communities of Veyo and Brookside, destroying at least one home and several other outbuildings. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Veyo West Fire had spread to 2,900 acres, having grown from 1,100 acres the previous night.

In the meantime, smoke was also drifting through much of Iron County from the Big Summit Fire, which had started in Nevada but burned its way into Utah on Tuesday and forced evacuations in the small community of Hamlin Valley, north of Enterprise.

That fire had grown to some 4,000 acres as of late Tuesday and was only 10% contained. The Bureau of Land Management announced it was working to fully suppress the fire and stop its progress on Wednesday.

Utah has seen a major increase in wildfires caused by people this year, with some estimates suggesting that 80% of all wildfires have been human-caused so far in 2020

Make Your Decision for Christ NOW!!!!!!! Time is Up!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ’s Offer of Salvation:

The ABCs of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)

A. Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.

. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).

B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be; that He was both fully God and fully man and that we are saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation. Become a son or daughter of God by receiving Christ.

. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

C. Call upon His name, Confess with your heart and with your lips that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).

. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (John 1:8-10).

. . . “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (John 2:2).

. . . “In this was manifested the love of god toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:9, 14-15).

. . . “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:8-10).

. . . “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

. . . “Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

. . . “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.” (Romans 1:16).

. . . “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts: 4:12).

. . . “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:4-6).

. . . “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

. . . “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12).

True Church / Bride of Christ Spared from God’s Wrath:

Romans 5:8-10. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 12:19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
