Blog note. Jesus indicated that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency, size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’ that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period

… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11).

… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)

… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken; (Luke 21:26)

… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy 3:1)
Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like a woman having labor.

Powerful Tornado Hits Nashville (TN, USA), Leaving at Least 8 Dead Across Tennessee

Two people were killed in Nashville, where the fire department said that it was responding to reports of at least 40 collapsed structures around the city.

At least eight people were killed in central Tennessee early Tuesday, including two in Nashville, when powerful tornadoes ripped through the state, officials said.

The Tennessee Department of Health said it had confirmed deaths in four counties: Four people died in Putnam County, two in Wilson County, one in Davidson County and one in Benton County. The Metro Nashville Police Department wrote on Twitter that the two victims in the city were from East Nashville.

The Nashville Fire Department said on Twitter that it was responding to reports of at least 40 collapsed structures around the city. Photos and videos shared on social media showed walls blasted off buildings, sheet metal wrapped around a pole, and trees and electrical lines broken across roads.

“It’s not looking good right now. We still have several people missing, a lot of loved ones calling in wanting us to locate their family,” Sheriff Eddie Farris of Putnam County told a local news station, WKRN. “We certainly hope that number doesn’t go up, but it’s not looking real promising at this point.”

Sheriff Farris said that the police were going house to house in search of survivors, assisted by road crews and power companies that sought to clear dangerous electrical debris.

The police in Mount Juliet, an eastern suburb of Nashville, said on Twitter that several people in the city had been injured and several homes had been destroyed, and they urged residents to stay home.

“It’s very shocking and I think many of us are grateful to be alive and worried about what tomorrow brings,” Brett Withers, a councilman in Nashville and Davidson County, said to the CBS station WTVF-TV. “The main concern is people’s safety.”

The John C. Tune Airport, six miles west of downtown, said on its website that it had sustained significant damage, with several hangars destroyed and power lines down. No damage was reported at Nashville International Airport on the other side of the city.

More than 44,000 people in the Nashville area were without power as of Tuesday morning, according to the city’s public utility company, Nashville Electric. Four substations and multiple distribution lines and power poles had been damaged in the storm, it said, adding that residents should “assume all downed power lines are live wires and stay away.”

Tennessee is one of the 14 states holding primaries on Tuesday — perhaps the single most important day on the primary calendar — and polls were scheduled to open at 7 a.m. Tennessee’s election administrator, Jeff Roberts, said in a statement that information about damage to polling stations was being collected, The Associated Press reported.

Photographs and videos shared on social media showed lightning strikes, collapsed buildings, damaged roads, and mangled wires and power lines lying in streets. The Basement East, a popular music venue, was severely damaged, and the roof appeared to have blown off.
