Increasing Distress of Nations, Civil Unrest: Hundreds of thousands of protesters march in support of jailed Catalan separatists in Five (5) cities.

The protesters filled major roads in Catalonia in the third day of the ‘March for Freedom’ protesting the Spanish court ruling that imprisoned nine independence leaders and convicted three others.

Major roads were blocked off across Catalonia on Friday (October 18) and several main streets in Barcelona were closed to traffic in anticipation of the marches, as well as picket lines that had begun springing up, while regional trains and the city’s metro were running on a reduced timetable.

The protesters marched from five different cities and their arrival will coincide with the general strike in Catalonia following four days of protests.

Barcelona suffered its worst night of violence on Thursday (October 17) as pro-independence supporters clashed with police and right-wing groups in running battles.
