Blog note. Jesus indicated that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency, size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’ that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period
… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and
pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
(Luke 21:11).
… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and
upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
(Luke 21:25)
… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which
are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken; (Luke 21:26)
… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy
3:1)
Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of
grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such prophecies from
throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the
intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of
severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes,
typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual
places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records
everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This
list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and
massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this
Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are
familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like
a woman having labor pains, growing in intensity, frequency, size and duration.
Pakistan becomes latest country to suffer severe dengue outbreak. So many multiples of Five (5). What do we know about the number Five (5)? Unbelievable. Defies secular, human logic, but not spiritual truth.
Ben Farmer, Islamabad 24 SEPTEMBER 2019. Telegraph.co.uk
Health officials in Pakistan are fighting a dengue outbreak which has infected more than 10,000 people in recent months and led to 20 deaths
Victims of the mosquito-borne viral infection have been flooding into hospitals across the country, adding to the strain on the country’s struggling health system.
Local officials held emergency meetings as the number of cases rose sharply in Lahore and in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan is the latest Asian country to suffer a severe outbreak of the disease this year. Nepal is experiencing what is believed to be its worst epidemic on record, with six deaths and more than 8,000 people hospitalised in the last four months.
Bangladesh, the Philippines and Honduras have all sounded national alerts over the disease, which causes debilitating flu-like symptoms including a high fever, headaches and joint pain. In severe cases it can be deadly.
Pakistan’s epidemic is not as severe as some in recent years but cases are expected to rise sharply in the coming days.
Zafar Mirza, a government adviser on health, told the news agency AFP as many as 10,013 dengue cases have so far been reported and that free medical treatment will be provided to patients suffering from illness.
The mosquito-borne viral infection kills dozens of people every year in Pakistan. Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection found in tropical countries worldwide.
It can cause joint pain, nausea, vomiting and a rash, and in severe cases can lead to breathing problems, haemorrhaging and organ failure.
In the 1970s, the virus was endemic in only nine countries. Yet severe dengue has now taken hold in more than 100 countries, with roughly half of the world’s population at risk. It is estimated to affect around 100 million people every year.
Outbreaks are spreading thanks to a “perfect storm” of climate change, rapid urbanisation and intercontinental travel, experts told the Telegraph earlier this year.
So far this year over 1.5 million cases of the mosquito-borne fever have been reported in South America, with over 75 per cent of these in Brazil.
The Nicaraguan government has also issued an alert after 55,000 cases were reported in the last seven months, and Honduras is facing its worst outbreak for 50 years.
Numerous countries in south east Asia have also identified a surge in the number of cases. The Philippines declared a national epidemic this week after over 145,000 infections and over 600 deaths were recorded so far this year, while one hospital in Bangladesh logged 1,300 infections in just 24 hours in July.
