Extreme Wildfires Update

Ibiza Fire: Huge fire breaks out at popular San Antonio tourist spot – ‘Ibiza is on fire!’ Video.

Blog note. Jesus indicated that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency, size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’ that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period

… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11).

… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)

… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken; (Luke 21:26)

… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy 3:1)

Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like a woman having labor pains, growing in intensity, frequency, size and duration.

Planes and helicopters are currently trying to control the blaze, according to local reports. Several homes have been evacuated by police as the fire burns in an area with vegetation which surrounds a number of hotels. Local media said Periodico de Ibiza has reported it is a forest fire and it ‘took power in a matter of minutes due to the hot temperatures.

People took to social media to share pictures and videos of thick smoke billowing into the air.

Eyewitness Melanie Baldwin tweeted there is a “large fire in San Antonio Bay in Ibiza.

“Planes and helicopters are using water to try and [get it under] control.

“Hope everyone staying closer than us [to the blaze] are safe.”

Another person filmed water being dumped on the blaze as firefighters tried to extinguish it.

They said that it “looks like the fire started around 3.45pm.

“There were airplanes trying to put the fire out. I don’t know the exact location.”

DJ-producer Bobby Harvey, who has been DJ-ing at Ibiza Rocks Bar, tweeted: “Ibiza is on fire! Not good!”

Another person tweeted: “Huge fire in Ibiza, smoke everywhere and it keeps on spreading.

“I hope everyone’s OK.”

San Antonio is a a popular destination for holidaymakers.

It has a number of beaches along its sandy stretch in the Mediterranean.

The electricity supply for 1,681 people has reportedly been cut off for “security reasons”.

A British holidaymaker told Mirror Online his nearby hotel lost power.

He added the fire was “really really bad”.

Terry Lewis, 45, from Manchester, also said the Monterrey Hotel on San Antonio bay, where he is staying, has lost power.

He said: “The hotel is in complete darkness.

“The fire happened about five hours ago.

“We were about three miles away and we needed to get back to the hotel to get my son’s ventilator because he has asthma.

“Police had blocked the road off when we were trying to get back to the hotel but we managed to get here through back roads.”

The British Foreign Office said temperatures regularly reach over 40C in Spain during the summer months, which increases the risk of forest fires.

It said: “Forest fires occur frequently in Spain (including Spanish islands) during the summer months.

“Take care when visiting or driving through woodland areas. Make sure cigarette ends are properly extinguished, don’t light barbecues and don’t leave empty bottles behind.

“You should be aware that causing a forest fire is treated as a criminal offence in Spain even if unintentional. If you see the on-set of a forest fire, call the emergency services on 112.”
