Saudi Arabia’s main state grain buying agency the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) said on Thursday it has issued an international tender to purchase 900,000 tonnes of animal feed barley.
SAGO is seeking shipment between August and October, it said in a statement.
The tender deadline is Friday.
SAGO governor Ahmad Al Fares said in the statement that the agency is seeking 15 individual consignments of 60,000 tonnes. SAGO reserves the right to buy 10 per cent more or less than the tender volume.
Some 12 consignments totalling 720,000 tonnes should be shipped to Red Sea ports and three consignments of 180,000 tonnes will be shipped to Gulf ports.
In its last reported barley tender on May 6, SAGO bought 840,000 tonnes.
