Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

WITH the European Union’s dream of a European army set to become a reality as hyper-federalist Ursula von der Leyen comes to power, a Brexiteer has hailed the “only good thing” about the news – that the result will be a disaster.

Brexit Party MEP Henrik Overgaard-Nielsen claimed that any such army helmed by the former German Defence Minister would be a “joke.” Ms von der Leyen has been criticised for her role as a lacklustre minister even within Germany – a development that has fed into the controversy surrounding her appointment to President of the EU Commission. Mr Overgaard-Nielsen told Brexit Party’s Brexbox podcast: “The only good thing about this is that, if von der Leyen is going to be in charge of the army then we can see what she did to the German army – where none of their submarines can actually sail, where they had tests where she sent all the soldiers but they didn’t have any guns so they had broomsticks instead…

“So if that’s what’s going to happen to the European army – fair enough, it’ll be a joke.”

A German battalion assigned to Nato’s rapid response force used broomstick handles instead of guns on a joint exercise due to chronic equipment shortages in 2015.

The force was formed in reaction to the 2014 Ukraine crisis.

The troops were missing 31 per cent of their MG3 general-purpose machine guns, 41 per cent of their P8 handguns, and more than three-quarters of their Lucie night-vision devices.

Soldiers resorted to painting broomsticks black and attaching them to Boxer armoured vehicles to simulate gun barrels.

Just a month earlier, it emerged that the German military was also using ordinary Mercedes vans as stand-ins for armoured personnel carriers during training because of equipment shortages.

General Harald Kujat, a former chief of staff of the German armed forces and chairman of the Nato military committee, described the latest incident was a “huge embarrassment”.

The Brexbox podcast earlier revealed that Ms von der Leyen became President of the European Commission because of a clandestine backroom deal to give Guy Verhofstadt a job in exchange for Lib Dem support.

Mr Overgaard-Nielsen explained that the controversial prospective leader of the EU managed to garner the vote of the former Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party if its president, Guy Verhofstadt, were given a new top role in EU affairs.

He said: “I think the most interesting thing is there’s a rumour, actually, that the way she [Ursula von der Leyen] got the Lib Dems and their group to vote in favour was because she promised that she would get a job for Guy Verhofstadt.

“The rumour says that actually she said in her speech she was going to do a two year conference from 2020 talking about the future of the EU.

“Conference for Europe they’re going to call it.

And that is only because she had to sell something to the Lib Dems and that was that Guy Verhofstadt was going to be in charge of that.

“That’s what the rumour says.”

Ursula von der Leyen has been approved as the first female president of the European Commission by MEPs.

The German defence minister was confirmed in the role by a European Parliament vote of 383-327, with 22 abstentions.

The move required an absolute majority under EU rules.

She was nominated by EU leaders to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as part of an overall appointments deal between nations, but still needed the backing of MEPs.

Ms von der Leyen was a last-minute candidate and many legislators were angry none of their lead candidates were selected for the top job.
