*Matthew 24:7 … For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Matthew 27:54 … Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
*Mark 13:8 … For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
*Luke 21:11 … And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Revelation 6:12… And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Revelation 8:5 … And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
Revelation 11:13 … And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Revelation 11:19 … And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Revelation 16:18 … And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Note: The three virtually identical references and verses (Matthew, Mark and Luke) regarding earthquakes in ‘divers places’ denotes God’s emphasis and intensity within his divine mathematics. God is emphasizing, with intensity that THERE WILL BE MANY EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERSE PLACES AROUND THE WORLD in the last days before the Tribulation and Great Tribulation. There can be no doubt that these are prophecies with exclamation points of emphasis and intensity of repetition. In case we didn’t understand the first time, he gives a second and third repetition so it sinks into our dull, sin laden minds and intellects. End of note.
Second note: It is believed that the great earthquake referenced in Revelation 11:13 takes place immediately after the two supernatural witnesses are finished proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jews and Gentiles in Jerusalem. They had been proclaiming the gospel for three and half years until their death at the hands of the beast. This is the exact same time that the beast causes the ‘abomination of desolation’ in the rebuilt Jewish Temple, proclaiming himself to be God and to be worshiped as such. Once the two supernatural witnesses are ‘called home’ to heaven, the earthquakes strikes killing 7,000 men. Seven (7) in God’s divine mathematics indicates a completion to his divine plan or purpose. The seven thousand deaths is a sort of exclamation point (!) at the end of the chapter in Biblical Prophecy involving the two supernatural witnesses. End of second note.
Third note: The final reference to Biblical prophetic earthquakes is found in Revelation 16:18. This is a great cataclysmic earthquake that occurs at the time of Christ’s literal second coming to the earth. The Great City, the Great Whore, the High-Tech Babylon in desert/mountains (NEOM) is destroyed in one hour by this earthquake and it split into three (3) sections. Three (3) again being God’s intensity and emphasis of destruction.
Israel is riddled with faults, but there’s one major one – the Dead Sea Transform – which is the source of catastrophic quakes.
