Here is what the Bible says about what life will be like in the last days before Christ’s

What we see happening in the world is not a mass revival, but a further dividing.  Those who love truth love it more than ever before.  Those who hate truth hate it more than ever before.

Here is what the Bible says about what life will be like in the last days before Christ’s return:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.  For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.  Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith.  But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

– 2 Timothy 3:1–9

Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.  They will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming?  For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.’  For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.  But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

– 2 Peter 3:3–7

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.  They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.  Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

– Luke 17:26–30

Tens of thousands of people are still coming to faith in Jesus Christ right now and this will continue right up until the point the door to the Ark is closed and the Church, the restrainer, is removed from the earth.

Only after that happens will revival come.  Millions, tens of millions, perhaps even hundreds of millions will come to a saving knowledge of the truth and will in turn be martyred for their faith.  These are the 5th Seal Martyrs, popularly known as “Tribulation Saints” (see here and here).

Many of these will be those who never proclaimed the Name of Christ.  But many will be those who proclaimed the Name of Christ, but never had a saving knowledge of the Truth—they neither accepted nor believed in the Gospel.  They trusted in themselves or their “Torah keeping” or their denominational affiliation or their good citizenship.  Others lived lawlessly because they believed Christ was just one of many ways to Heaven, and, in the end, “everyone will make it.”

It will take nothing less than the Great Tribulation for these to realize who Christ is and what He accomplished on the Cross, and even then, we are told that they are not cleansed by their works, but by the Lamb’s blood:

Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, ‘Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?’  I said to him, ‘Sir, you know.’  And he said to me, ‘These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation.  They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.’

– Revelation 7:13–14

Yet, in addition to possessing a genuine, saving faith, there is one thing they all must do: they must, under no circumstances, receive the mark of the beast or worship the beast and its image (Rev. 14:9–11).
