Blog note: And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:11). Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for as the age of grace comes to a close. This verse from Luke is one of many such prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This list can go on. Most studied eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like a woman having labor pains that occur in greater severity, frequency, size and duration prior to giving birth. End of note.

Note: ‘Extreme Flooding’ (fearful sights in diverse places) category has now been added as a prophetic category being tracked in the ‘Convergence or Great Convergence’ of signs. Flooding of “Biblical Portions” is happening worldwide on such a large scale, that these events can’t be ignored. These flooding events are happening in ADDITION to flooding caused by hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones and medicanes. Yes, it is true that some of these extreme floods are associated with storms, that doesn’t change the fact that they are occurring is greater frequency and intensity, along with all of the other ‘signs’ in CONVERGENCE of signs. All these signs prophesied by Jesus are truly happening all at once or concurrently. Jesus indicated that as we ‘see these things happening, know that your redemption is close at hand or draws nigh.’ Jesus does NOT give us a specific date as to when ‘our redemption draws nigh or the rapture of the true church occurs.’ He speaks of watching for the ‘season of these things.’ A season is very brief period of time that generically indicates that signs will exist concurrently long enough for mankind to be able to notice them and the significance or meaning of them.

As You See These Things Coming to Pass

Luke 21:28

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Emphasis added).

 I pray that those who would mock these signs, discredit these signs, downplay these signs as always having happened, those who are asleep and not aware of these signs, those who could care less of what is happening around the world to ‘many peoples, nations, tongues, tribes’ of people… that all of the mockers and deniers would WAKE UP, pay attention and consider what the Bible has to say about these things occurring. What are the implications for you on a personal level? Do these signs and CONVERGENCE of signs cause a little fear or concern if they just might be in fact what the Bible has already prophesized will happen? Should you accept Jesus’ offer of forgiveness and salvation? Should you place your trust in him? How long will you delay or postpone answering this question? Are you taking the chance in thinking that what the Bible says is not true? Do you really, really, really want to take that chance?

Let’s say that you live in a part or little corner of the world that has been spared from some of the most severe of these events or signs. You might be saying to yourself, ‘well, thank goodness that stuff didn’t happen here.’ Put yourself in these other people’s life jackets or shelters. How do you think they feel and think? How many of these people are thanking God that they were spared? How many of these people are praying for their lost or dead family members? How many people are now seriously considering accepting Jesus for their physical and spiritual salvation? How many peoples have stopped praying to false gods and false idols to save them?

On the other hand, how many people have not done any of these things (turn to Christ)?

Which camp are you in? Which camp will you be in as the ‘signs of the times’ continue to increase in greater frequency, intensity and scope (like the birth pangs of a woman in labor)? What if your home or business is destroyed in a day, like many of those in the Florida panhandle or elsewhere throughout the world? India, Central America, Japan, Italy, Africa … the list goes on and on. The prophesied Tribulation (Jacob’s week of trouble / the trying of men on the earth) has NOT EVEN STARTED yet!!! It is going to get worse, much … much … much … worse.

How are you going to react? Are you ready for the rapture/harpazo of the true Church? Have you contemplated and accepted Jesus’ offer? Or, have you resigned yourself into thinking these things are fables and not true, and that you will just ‘ride out the storms’ that are coming during the Tribulation and Great Tribulation periods (yes, there are two 3 ½ year periods which make up a total of 7 years).
