Kiev reports first measles death as cases soar. Around 20,000 people in Ukraine have contracted the highly contagious viral disease since the start of the year. The European region saw nearly 83,000 cases of measles last year, WHO said. The Ukrainian government reported 54,000 cases in 2018.
