- first and last (4X). (Rev. 1:11, 1:17, 2:8, 22:13)
Commentary: Names and Titles are Capitalized, descriptions are not. Three individual names of God can be joined to form four (4) combinations of names, all properly representing the power, majesty and glory of God. God refers to himself as Lord, seven (7) times. Seven (7) represents God’s divinely determined completeness to his plan or purpose. Lord suggests supreme rulership and authority. His name of God, is repeated seventy (70) times. (7×10=70). Ten (10) represents God’s allness or completeness. This name of God, is the ONLY subject, in all of Revelation, to have seventy (70) references. The combinations of God’s names result in fewer references, but they are all derivatives his three (3) basic names, Lord – God – Almighty. By using these three basis names, God is intensely emphasizing who he is. By arranging them into additional combinations, adds another measure of importance and description as to who He is. The name of Jesus Christ, also shares the same naming characteristics as the Father’s names.

- . . . “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of THE LAMB.” (Rev. 22:1).
- . . . “And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of THE LAMB shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him.” (Rev. 22:3).
Commentary: Lamb is capitalized and therefore another name or title of Jesus Christ. THE FACT THAT THE LAMB IS REFERENCED TWENTY-FOUR (24) TIMES INDICATE THAT HE IS THE FOUNDATION IN GOD’S ABUNDANT OR DOUBLED ORGANIZATIONAL (GOVERNMENT) ARRANGEMENT. HE IS LITERALLY THE CORNER STONE IN THE FOUNDATION OF GOD’S DIVINE ORGANIZATION OF THINGS. FOR THERE TO BE AN ORGANIZATION OF ANYTHING, ON EARTH OR HEAVEN, THERE HAS TO BE A ROCK-STEADY FOUNDATION SUPPORTING A PURPOSE OR PLAN. THERE HAS TO BE FOUNDATIONAL ELEMENT OF STRENGTH AND TRUTH. If the foundation of the organization of a house is poor, weak and not built correctly, the house will fall. The foundation has to be built firm so it does not change or shift under the organizational structure of the house.
The Lamb (Jesus Christ) represents the rock-steady, true and solid foundation of God’s divine organization and the foundation of man’s redemption. God’s organization is built on and around the Lamb. The title and name Lamb is unique because it is also reflects a descriptive term. IT DESCRIBES JESUS CHRIST AS NOT ONLY WHO HE IS, BUT WHAT HE IS! LAMB THEREFORE SERVES A THREEFOLD PURPOSED; IT IS A TITLE OR A NAME, DESCRIBES WHO HE IS, AND DESCRIBES WHAT HE IS.
Twenty-four is the greatest finite number in the mathematics of God. It is the largest representation of anything in God’s abundant or doubled governmental organization. THE NUMBER OF REPETITIVE REFERENCES IMPLIES EXTREME SIGNIFICANCE, IMPORTANCE AND PURPOSE. THE HOLY SPIRIT USES THE TERM LAMB OVER AND OVER AND OVER, TO PROCLAIM THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED, LIKE A LAMB (BLOODY AND SLAUGHTERED), ON A CROSS AND THEN ROSE AGAIN, FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF MANKIND’S SINS.
The Jews had a practice of slaughtering clean, genetically perfect animals to temporarily atone for their sins. Their sins were cast onto these animals, who then were destroyed by burning. JESUS CHRIST WAS THE PERFECT MAN, CLEAN AND SINLESS. HE WAS THE PERFECT HUMAN LAMB. His death and burial were for the eternal (not temporary) forgiveness of all of men’s sins. All of our sins were cast upon the Lamb, while God was sacrificing his son on the cross through the shedding of his blood, instead of the shedding of our blood.
We deserve to die for our sins, Jesus (the Lamb) did not deserve to die since he was sinless. However, in God’s infinite grace and mercy, he allowed his son to take on our sins and carry them from the cross to the grave, for eternity. Through our acceptance of God’s offer of forgiveness through his son Jesus Christ (the Lamb), our sins are forgiven; past, present and future.
Putting this into a little different perspective, but one that should hit home and resonate with you on a personal level. As a parent, you absolutely love your child (son or daughter), of course you do! There is no question about that, for any normal, emotionally healthy parent. Hypothetically speaking, how would you feel if an ISIS terrorist group kidnapped your son or daughter, severely tortured them with whips, nailed them to a tree in public, spit on them, cursed them and mocked them? Blood running down your son or daughter’s legs from the wounds in their hands, head, back and torso. How would you feel, as a parent, knowing that they are slowly dying a painful, horrible, slow death.
Hypothetically, speaking of course, how would you feel as a parent if the ISIS terrorist group told you that your son or daughter (either of whom is totally innocent) is being slaughtered for some perceived hatred or action of another guilty party. How would you feel knowing that your son or daughter was the scapegoat for an evil payback by the terrorist group as a lesson for those who don’t follow their ideology?
By now, you should have an extremely painful visual image in your head. Now, hypothetically speaking again, imagine how God felt seeing his son, Jesus Christ, in the same excruciatingly painful, deadly predicament as your family member. If he is a living, loving entity (which he is), how do you think he felt having to give up his Holy Son to the Roman authorities, for slaughtering. His son was totally innocent, but was used as a scapegoat or as a Lamb for our sins and transgressions.
Jesus Christ (the Lamb), didn’t deserve to be tortured and die. There was no logical, rational reason for him to bear all of mankind’s sins for eternity. But, he did so, willingly. As a parent, would you willingly let your son or daughter be literally slaughtered as a result of someone else’s evil actions? God’s love for us transcended the pain he felt from his son’s bloody crucifixion. THE WORK OF THE LAMB IS THE FOUNDATIONAL CORNERSTONE OF GOD’S DIVINE ORGANIZATION FOR THE REDEMPTION OF MAN. THE TWENTY-FOUR REPETITIONS OF ‘LAMB’ ATTEST TO THIS DIVINE MATHEMATICAL FACT.

TWELVE-FOLD REFERENCES TO A HEAVENLY BOOK:
- . . . “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the THRONE A BOOK WRITTEN WITHIN AND ON THE BACKSIDE, SEALED WITH SEVEN SEALS.” (Rev. 5:1).
- . . . “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to OPEN THE BOOK, and to loose the seals thereof?” (Rev. 5:2).
- . . . “And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to OPEN THE BOOK, neither to look thereon.” (Rev. 5:3).
- . . . “And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to READ THE BOOK, neither to look thereon.” (Rev. 5:4).
- . . . “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to OPEN THE BOOK, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” (Rev. 5:5).
- . . . “And he came and TOOK THE BOOK out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.” (Rev. 5:7).
- . . . “And when he had TAKEN THE BOOK, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full or odours, which are the prayers of saints.” (Rev. 5:8).
- . . . “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou are worth to TAKE THE BOOK, AND OPEN THE SEALS thereof: for thou was slain, and has redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation:” (Rev. 5:9).
- . . . “And he had in his hand A LITTLE BOOK open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth.” (Rev. 10:2).
- . . . “And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take THE LITTLE BOOK which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.” (Rev. 10:8).
- . . . “And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me THE LITTLE BOOK. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.” (Rev. 10:9).
- . . . “And I TOOK THE LITTLE BOOK out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.” (Rev. 10:10).
Commentary: Rev. 5:1-5, 7-9, reference the book of wrath that has the seven seals which Christ is the only one worthy enough to open. Rev. 10:2, 8-10, references a little book of prophecy that “tastes sweet, but when eaten, becomes bitter in the belly”. Both books are prophetic in nature. THE BOOK WHICH CHRIST OPENS IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIES OF PROPHECIES THAT INDICATE THE JUDGEMENTS CHRIST ADMINISTERS TO START THE TRIBULATION. The second book of prophecies handed by a mighty, glorious angel to John is a bit of an enigma. The book could contain prophecies regarding other events in the Tribulation period that we don’t know about, or events that we do know about as stated in the book of Revelation.
As the book of Revelation is generally considered the largest book in the Bible concerning prophecy, the two heavenly books described above (CHRIST’S BOOK OR ROLE OF SEALS, THE MIGHTY ANGEL’S LITTLE BOOK OF BITTERNESS) ARE TWO PROPHECY BOOKS CONTAINED WITHIN THE PROPHECY OF REVELATION. Prophecies within prophecy. Interestingly, Revelation is chock-full of references to BOOKS BEING USED IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF GOD’S ORDER OF THINGS.
There is also a book of life referenced many places throughout Revelation. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THINGS IN GOD’S ADMINISTRATION ARE “WRITTEN DOWN IN BOOKS” (OR LEDGERS, IF YOU WANT TO USE AN ACCOUNTING TERM). ULTIMATELY, EVERY CHRISTIAN’S NAME IS WRITTEN DOWN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE. John the Apostle was instructed by the Holy Spirit to ‘write’ down what he saw and/or heard.
The ABCs (7) of Salvation through Jesus Christ (the Lamb)
- (7) Admit/Acknowledge/Accept that you are sinner. Ask (7) God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins.
. . . “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
. . . “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10).
. . . “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8).
B. Believe Jesus is Lord. Believe that (7) Jesus Christ is who He claimed to (7) be; that He was both fully God (7) and fully man and that we are (7) saved through His death, burial, and resurrection. (7) Put your trust in Him as your (7) only hope of salvation. Become a son (7) or daughter of God by receiving Christ. (7777777) 7×7
. . . “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:15-17). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).
C. Call upon His name, Confess (7) with your heart and with your lips (7) that Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
. . . “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

GREAT WHITE THRONE AND ETERNAL JUDGEMENT

SEVEN-FOLD REFERENCE TO LAKE OF FIRE JUDGEMENT
- “He that hath an ear, let hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of THE SECOND DEATH (LAKE OF FIRE).” (Rev. 2:11).
- “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he SHALL BE TORMENTED WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosover receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev. 14:10-11).
- “And THE BEAST was taken, and with him THE FALSE PROPHET that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These BOTH WERE CAST ALIVE INTO A LAKE OF FIRE BURNING WITH BRIMSTONE.” (Rev. 19:20).
- “And the devil that deceived them was cast into THE LAKE OF FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, WHERE THE BEAST AND THE FALSE PROPHET ARE, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev. 20:10).
- “And death and hell were cast into THE LAKE OF FIRE. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH.” (Rev. 20:14).
- “And whosover was not found written in the book of life WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.” (Rev. 20:15).
- “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.” (Rev. 21:8).
The lake of fire is also known as the ‘second death’. This is the final place of burning, everlasting torment for Satan, the antichrist, the false prophet and those un-saved, un-believing souls from throughout the ages found NOT to be in the book of life, at the white throne judgement, at the end of the Millennium. The lake of fire and second death are also reserved for those deceived during the Tribulation who took the mark of the beast and worshipped him and his image.
The evil dead are resurrected to be judged by Christ for their evil works and for their rejection of Him who offered himself for their salvation and forgiveness of their sins. As a result of their sins and judgment, they are cast into the lake of fire that represents a second death (the first death being physical body death and souls/spirits being in Hell). The evil dead are resurrected into bodies and cast into the lake of fire to be severely tormented, having no rest day or night, and are absent from a loving God and their Savior who offered himself for them.
THE GREAT IRONY IS THAT THESE PEOPLE RECEIVED EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED. THEY REFUSED CHRIST AND WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM, THEY WANTED TO EXIST IN ETERNITY WITHOUT COMMUNION WITH GOD AND CHRIST, ON THEIR OWN TERMS. THEY LITERALLY RECEIVED WHAT THEY ASKED FOR. THE STENCH OF THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL TORMENT RISES UP IN SMOKE, FOR ETERNITY.
God made both man and angels as eternal beings, hence they will exist forever in one state or another. Which state will any of us choose to exist in? The choice is up to us, and God grants us the freedom to make that choice for ourselves. For better or worse, we have no one to blame (certainly not God) except ourselves for whatever choices we make on earth.
MOST PEOPLE DON’T REALISE THIS UNTILL IT’S TOO LATE: STANDING AT THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST

‘ACTION IS IN OUR NATURE’: SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE FORUM 2024 OPENS IN RIYADH
Saudi Gazette report December 03, 2024
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman inaugurated the FOURTH SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE FORUM ON TUESDAY UNDER THE THEME “ACTION IS IN OUR NATURE.”
The event, which coincides with the 16TH SESSION OF THE CONFERENCE OF THE PARTIES TO THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION (COP16), IS HOSTED IN RIYADH UNDER THE BANNER “OUR LAND, OUR FUTURE.”

The forum gathers experts, policymakers, business leaders, and specialists from across the globe to discuss CRITICAL ISSUES SUCH AS LAND REHABILITATION, INNOVATIVE METHODS TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS, AND FINANCING THE GREEN TRANSITION TO SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS.
Additionally, the event highlights the role of natural solutions in enabling communities to adapt to climate change while focusing on preserving Saudi Arabia’s rich biodiversity. Over the course of two days, the forum will review the PROGRESS MADE TOWARD ACHIEVING THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE’S ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE GOALS.
Discussions will cover efforts to combat desertification, accelerate land rehabilitation, and explore the LATEST SUSTAINABILITY INNOVATIONS TO ENSURE A GREENER, MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. Running alongside COP16 is the Saudi Green Initiative Exhibition, which offers visitors an immersive experience of SAUDI ARABIA’S VISION FOR SUSTAINABILITY.
The exhibition features over 80 interactive initiatives, using 3D displays, performance dashboards, and interactive maps to engage visitors and foster widespread participation from all sectors of society. Adding to the event’s significance, the SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE TALKS will take place daily from December 5 to 13. These sessions will feature notable climate experts and leaders discussing the latest sustainability trends, presenting valuable insights into addressing climate challenges, and sharing actionable ideas to advance environmental conservation efforts.

THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE IS DRIVEN BY THREE AMBITIOUS GOALS. THE FIRST IS TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS BY 278 MILLION TONS ANNUALLY BY 2030, LEVERAGING EXPANDED RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES, ADVANCED CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES, AND INNOVATIONS IN THE CARBON CIRCULAR ECONOMY. THE SECOND GOAL AIMS TO PLANT 10 BILLION TREES ACROSS THE KINGDOM, REHABILITATING 74.8 MILLION HECTARES OF DEGRADED LAND. To date, more than 95 million trees have been planted, and 111,000 hectares of land have been restored. THE THIRD OBJECTIVE FOCUSES ON CONSERVING 30% OF SAUDI ARABIA’S TERRESTRIAL AND MARINE AREAS BY 2030, WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON REINTRODUCING ENDANGERED SPECIES INTO THEIR NATURAL HABITATS.

POLITICAL SHIFTS WILL NOT SLOW GREEN ECONOMY MOMENTUM

Majed Al-Qatari November 22, 202422:18
The relationship between climate policy and economic priorities continues to shape THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABILITY IN A WORLD STRIVING TO ADDRESS GLOBAL WARMING.
Recent major global political shifts will alter climate policies and affect actions undertaken by governments, but they won’t stop the LONG-TERM MOMENTUM OF THE GREEN ECONOMY JUGGERNAUT. It is, however, essential to understand how these changes in policy will impact sustainable development and INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE INITIATIVES.
In recent years, climate policy has taken various approaches to balance traditional energy sectors with renewable energy investments.

Policy shifts like those expected from the next Donald Trump administration could expand fossil fuel extraction and reduce support for renewables for short-term gains. This could dampen investments in clean energy and complicate progress toward national and international climate goals.
A sharp and most likely short term change in policy like this highlights THE NEED FOR RESILIENT STRATEGIES TO MAINTAIN FORWARD MOMENTUM IN RENEWABLE ENERGY ADOPTION AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES.
In the US, changes to climate policies could initially cause delays or even the suspension of renewable energy projects, accompanied by a shift in focus toward fossil fuels. Moreover, subsidies and incentives for the green sector might be redirected, delaying critical advancements in the green economy. Increased reliance on fossil fuels could hinder emissions reduction goals and the economic case for transitioning to renewables.
The hope for a thriving green economy may face challenges during periods of economic uncertainty, particularly for COMPANIES DEPENDENT ON GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR GREEN PROJECTS. Any reduction in government support could erode investor confidence, slowing the progress of renewable energy initiatives.
However, major liberal American states like California, along with the private sector, are likely to continue developing sustainable practices regardless of changes at federal level. This distinction between federal challenges and state-led or market-driven green investments highlights the multifaceted nature of climate action in a large country like the US.
On the international stage, changes to key climate policies can create a ripple effect.
The future of the green economy hinges on managing energy transitions effectively, balancing short-term economic considerations with long-term environmental imperatives.
Majed Al-Qatari
For instance, THE EU, WITH ITS AMBITIOUS GREEN DEAL INITIATIVE AND EMISSIONS TRADING SCHEMES, REMAINS COMMITTED TO PRODUCING NET-ZERO GREENHOUSE GASES BY 2050. IT HAS INVESTED HEAVILY IN RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORKS, UNDERSCORING THE IMPORTANCE OF LONG-TERM CLIMATE GOALS.

ANY SHIFTS AWAY FROM CLEAN ENERGY BY EUROPE’S GLOBAL PARTNERS COULD CREATE NEW DYNAMICS IN TRADE AND CLIMATE COOPERATION. HOWEVER, EUROPE’S RESOLVE TO LEAD IN SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES ENSURES THAT PROGRESS WILL CONTINUE — WITH OR WITHOUT ALIGNMENT WITH THE US.
In the Middle East, NATIONS LIKE SAUDI ARABIA HAVE SHOWN LEADERSHIP IN GREEN INITIATIVES THROUGH FRAMEWORKS SUCH AS VISION 2030 AND THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE.

THE GREEN ENVIRONMENTAL DRAGON OF THE BEAST’S KINGDOM. MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN
These programs leverage the region’s high solar energy potential to achieve broader green economy objectives. And while INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION AMPLIFIES THESE EFFORTS, regional leaders remain determined to advance sustainable development as part of economic diversification away from fossil fuels and to ensure climate resilience.
Although CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY is shaped within national contexts, it REQUIRES A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE AND COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO BRING ABOUT THE CHANGES REQUIRED TO SLOW GLOBAL WARMING. TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS REMAIN ESSENTIAL IN DRIVING SUSTAINABILITY.

Participation in frameworks like the PARIS AGREEMENT HIGHLIGHTS THE NEED FOR UNIFIED ACTION TO ADDRESS A CHALLENGE THAT TRANSCENDS BORDERS AND POLITICAL CYCLES Globally, significant investments in renewable energy are shaping the green economy.
Emerging markets in EUROPE, ASIA AND THE MIDDLE EAST are establishing themselves as leaders in clean-energy technologies, creating competition as well as collaboration opportunities. These developments EMPHASIZE THE RESILIENCE OF THE GREEN ECONOMY, which continues to evolve despite external challenges. And AS ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC INTERESTS BECOME MORE INTERCONNECTED, ALIGNING POLICIES WITH SUSTAINABILITY GOALS BECOMES INCREASINGLY CRUCIAL.
The future of the green economy hinges on managing energy transitions effectively, balancing short-term economic considerations with long-term environmental imperatives. Despite potential challenges, the drive for innovation and INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ENSURES THAT THE GREEN ECONOMY REMAINS A CENTRAL FORCE FOR GLOBAL PROGRESS. As nations and industries align their interests with sustainability, the world moves closer to addressing ONE OF HUMANITY’S MOST URGENT CHALLENGES.

SAUDI ARABIA, FRANCE TO COLLABORATE ON 3 RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

Updated 26 sec ago Nour El-Shaeri December 03, 202413:20
RIYADH: THREE RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS are set to be developed in Saudi Arabia with the involvement of French companies, according to Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih.
The initiatives, which will be officially announced by the Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, are part of THE KINGDOM’S GROWING EFFORTS TO LEAD THE GLOBAL TRANSITION TOWARD SUSTAINABLE ENERGY.
“I don’t know if the news is out, but I’ll break it in. There will be THREE MAJOR RENEWABLE PROJECTs announced by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz and signed in the presence of President Macron,” Al-Falih said during the SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE FORUM HELD IN RIYADH AT COP16.
Speaking on the broader shift toward sustainability, Al-Falih emphasized that GREEN FINANCE IS CENTRAL TO THE FUTURE OF GLOBAL INVESTMENT, HIGHLIGHTING ITS ALIGNMENT WITH SAUDI ARABIA’S VISION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

“Globally, I think the world today is really moving toward (5) FINANCING, INVESTING, AND SUPPORTING SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY AND MATERIALS,” he said, emphasizing key areas such as water management and combating desertification. According to Al-Falih, trillions of dollars in annual investments are required globally to address these challenges.
The minister remarked that the amount of capital across the world available for sustainable investments is vast and growing rapidly. “We estimate that as of last year, $3 TRILLION WAS THE POOL OF MONEY AVAILABLE LAST YEAR. AND I THINK WHAT IS MORE ASTONISHING, WHAT IS MORE WOW TO ME IS IT IS PROJECTED TO GROW BY A FACTOR OF SEVEN OF THE $3 TRILLION BY 2033, eight years. So the funds are there,” he said.
He added that governments must play a key role in making investments attractive by de-risking them for private capital. “It needs to go to a place where there is demand, and demand is key,” he explained. “It needs governments and systems that (investors) can trust and that has all of the elements of stability, predictability. And we believe Saudi Arabia is that place for them to look at,” he said.
The Kingdom is positioning itself as a global hub for green investment, backed by (3) ROBUST DEMAND, INVESTOR TRUST, AND STABLE GOVERNANCE.
“THE FUTURE OF FINANCE IS GREEN. IT IS GREEN, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE THE COLOR OF OUR FLAG. IT HAPPENS TO BE THE THEME OF THIS GREAT INITIATIVE HIS HIGHNESS HAS LAUNCHED — GREEN SAUDI, GREEN MIDDLE EAST,” Al-Falih said, adding that the country provides a stable environment for investors by managing risks and offering predictable opportunities.

Al-Falih also pointed to Saudi Arabia’s advances in renewable energy production, particularly wind and solar power, describing these sectors as a (3) “WIN, WIN, WIN” FOR THE NATION.
“The lowest hanging fruit, which we started with, and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz is doubling down on in a massive way, is the green electrons producing electricity from wind and solar,” he said, explaining that these projects not only boost sustainability but also create economic opportunities.
“This is for us, you know, win, win, win because we displace liquids that can be exported to places that need liquid hydrocarbons for that economic longevity.” In addition to renewable energy, Al-Falih highlighted the Kingdom’s rapid growth in venture capital and its efforts to foster a startup ecosystem.
He also underlined that Saudi Arabia has risen to become the leading venture capital market in the Middle East, with VC growing “by a factor of 21 over the last few years.” “We are awarding thousands of premium residencies to all of these entrepreneurs because we want them to feel at home,” he added.
“The system of venturing and startups is not only linked to Saudi companies. I think what’s exciting is when we have our conferences. We just had Biban. A few months earlier, WE HAD LEAP; hundreds, if not thousands, of startups came from around the world, and we’re licensing them at MISA (Ministry of Investment).”

Al-Falih also UNDERSCORED THE KINGDOM’S COMMITMENT TO DRIVING GLOBAL GREEN INVESTMENT, ENVISIONING SAUDI ARABIA AS THE PRIMARY HUB FOR SUSTAINABLE FINANCE.
“We will be launching many investment schemes around green investments. And as I mentioned, THE FUTURE FOR FINANCE IS GREEN, AND THE HUB OF THAT GREEN INVESTMENT IS GOING TO BE IN SAUDI ARABIA. And those funds will naturally flow to where the hub is, where the center of gravity is going to be,” he said.
SAUDI ARABIA’S SUSTAINABLE DESALINATION STRATEGY

The Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea are major sources of seafood and vital reservoirs of two of the most precious resources: water and oil.
The rich marine ecosystems within these bodies of water are characterized by a diverse array of unique and indigenous plants and animals that play crucial roles in maintaining ecological balance. However, these sensitive habitats may experience significant physical and chemical stresses if the natural equilibrium is disturbed.
Saudi Arabia is taking a leadership role on the global stage with its innovative and patented technologies developed by the Saudi Water Authority’s Water Technology Innovation and Research Development Institute.
These initiatives are focused not only on efficient desalination, but also on the responsible management of brine as a resource rather than merely as a waste product. WTIIRA-SWA has created a groundbreaking dual brine concentration design that combines a nanofiltration system upstream of a reverse osmosis system and a membrane brine concentration system downstream.
This technology enables the extraction of two valuable brine streams: one that consists of concentrated and purified monovalent ions, which can be used to produce high-purity sodium chloride and bromine, and another that is rich in divalent ions usable for manufacturing various calcium and magnesium salts.
Such innovation not only contributes to the sustainability of desalination processes but also opens new avenues for economic viability, connecting the desalination industry to a range of applications in sectors such as chlor-alkali production, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Another noteworthy achievement in this field is the extraction of vaterite calcium carbonate, distinguished by its unique chemical properties, including high porosity, increased surface area, greater solubility and biodegradability.
These attributes make vaterite calcium carbonate especially suitable for controlled release in pharmaceutical formulations, serving as an effective carrier for drug delivery. By harnessing such advanced materials, WTIIRA-SWA underscores its commitment to innovation in resource recovery.
Moreover, WTIIRA-SWA has implemented several pioneering strategies to minimize the environmental impact of desalination brine and preserve the precious ecosystems surrounding the Kingdom.

- Efficient technology implementation: Modern desalination plants in Saudi Arabia utilize advanced technologies that emphasize energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
- Brine disposal management: In Saudi Arabia, the strategies for brine disposal are carefully considered. Detailed studies of dilution factors, dispersion patterns, and the assimilative capacity of the receiving marine environment are conducted to ensure that discharged brine is safely integrated without detrimental effects on marine life.
- Monitoring and regulation: Rigorous environmental monitoring programs are established to assess the impact of desalination plant effluents on the marine ecosystem.
- Coastal ecosystem preservation: Strategic placement of desalination plants is intended to reduce impacts on sensitive coastal ecosystems.
- Research and development: Ongoing research and development initiatives aim to improve desalination technologies and processes further.
Through these comprehensive approaches, WTIIRA-SWA is not only addressing the challenges of desalination but also setting a global standard for sustainability in the management of water resources.

EUPHRATES RIVER 2025 UPDATE – THIS IS WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THE DRYING EUPHRATES
SAUDI REHABILITATED 250,000 HECTARES OF LAND AND WILL PLANT 115 MILLION TREES BY END OF 2024
December 07, 2024 Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and President of 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Abdulrahman Alfadley emphasized that SAUDI ARABIA’S ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS ARE FOUNDED ON STRATEGIC, METHODICAL PLANNING, CULMINATING IN ELEVATING THE LEVEL OF AMBITION IN THE GOALS OF THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE, which include rehabilitating 40 million hectares of degraded land, equivalent to planting 10 billion trees.
He said that over 250,000 hectares have been rehabilitated to date, and more than 115 million trees will be planted by the end of this year. The minister made the remarks during a panel discussion titled “LEADERSHIP IN CLIMATE ACTION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” AT THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION AND FORUM FOR AFFORESTATION TECHNOLOGIES, HELD AS PART OF COP16. During the panel discussion, Saudi Arabia’s environmental (3) OBJECTIVES, INITIATIVES, AND STRATEGIES, as well as its global roadmap for environmental action and the achievements of THE SAUDI GREEN AND MIDDLE EAST GREEN INITIATIVES were discussed.

Alfadley said that the Kingdom launched a global initiative during its presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) Summit in 2020 to rehabilitate degraded lands, alongside THE MIDDLE EAST GREEN INITIATIVE TO PLANT 50 (5) BILLION TREES. The country also developed action plans and mechanisms, including water conservation measures and availability of seeds to meet afforestation targets.
He emphasized the importance of the Kingdom’s food security strategy, aiming to reduce food waste from 33 percent to 15 percent by 2030, pointing out that the agricultural sector, which accounts for 14 percent of carbon emissions, could significantly reduce emissions by halving food waste and loss. He also indicated that the Kingdom increased its water recycling in agriculture from 500,000 cubic meters to 2 million cubic meters, targeting 90 percent reuse of treated water to promote sustainability and mitigate environmental impacts.
The minister highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to the (3) CIRCULAR ECONOMY, WASTE RECYCLING, AND RESOURCE PRESERVATION, pointing out that Saudi Arabia has successfully eliminated fuel burning for water production, previously consuming around 300,000 barrels per day and, starting next year, the practice will cease entirely.
He said that the Kingdom’s water management strategy includes maintaining an annual water budget of 25 billion cubic meters, equivalent to Egypt’s Nile River share, while optimizing agricultural crop selection based on water usage. The minister added that the Kingdom has identified 11 strategic crops for local production and established the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) to invest in agriculture abroad and enhance global food supplies. These measures have saved approximately 10 billion cubic meters of water annually and set safe water extraction limits until 2030.
As part of the Kingdom’s water management policies, he indicated that desalinated water constitutes 65 percent of Saudi Arabia’s drinking water supply, and the cost of water production has decreased to one-third of 2016 levels. TREATED WATER IS ALSO UTILIZED IN AFFORESTATION TO ACHIEVE THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE’S GOALS.
The minister emphasized the pivotal role of the private sector, with A 50 (5) PERCENT CONTRIBUTION TO AFFORESTATION ACHIEVEMENTS, adding that environmental organizations and green associations in Saudi Arabia have grown 25-fold, further supporting the initiative. He indicated that the Kingdom aims to designate 30 percent of its land and marine areas as protected zones by 2030, surpassing international commitments by more than 18 months.
SAUDI ARABIA AIMS TO SET GLOBAL STANDARDS IN CLIMATE ACTION

Adel AlJubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Saudi Council of Ministers, and Envoy for Climate Affairs, opened on Wednesday the second day of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum 2024, held alongside the UNCCD COP16.
Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — Adel AlJubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Saudi Council of Ministers, and Envoy for Climate Affairs, opened on Wednesday the second day of the SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE (SGI) FORUM 2024, held alongside the UNCCD COP16.
In his address, AlJubeir REINFORCED SAUDI (5) ARABIA’S LEADERSHIP IN CLIMATE ACTION, (5) EMPHASIZING THE KINGDOM’S PROACTIVE STANCE. (5) “WE WANT TO SET THE (5) STANDARD FOR THE WORLD. WE (5) DON’T WANT TO FOLLOW THEM,” (55555) he stated during the Forum’s opening session in a conversation with CNBC’s Dan Murphy.

AlJubeir highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strides in environmental protection and climate action as integral to the Kingdom’s strategy for economic diversification and investment attraction. He noted the substantial return on investment in environmental initiatives, stating, “For every dollar we spend restoring land, the benefits are anywhere from seven to thirty dollars, akin to investing in technology.” He also highlighted the compatibility of environmental sensitivity with financial gains, particularly in initiatives such as the Red Sea resorts, which enhance investment value while prioritizing ecological sustainability.
A significant highlight of AlJubeir’s remarks was THE KINGDOM’S FOCUS ON THE BLUE ECONOMY, MARKED BY THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NATIONAL RED SEA SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY earlier in the day. THE STRATEGY UNDERSCORES SAUDI ARABIA’S COMMITMENT TO PRESERVING THE RED SEA’S UNIQUE ECOSYSTEM WHILE UNLOCKING ECONOMIC POTENTIAL THROUGH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
AlJubeir also emphasized the importance of global cooperation in addressing climate challenges. “We believe we are facing a tremendous challenge in terms of the climate, and WE BELIEVE THAT BY WORKING TOGETHER AND PUTTING OUR RESOURCES TOGETHER, WE WILL BE ABLE TO CONFRONT AND DEAL WITH THIS CHALLENGE EFFECTIVELY,” he said.

RIYADH: As the host of UN negotiations on combating the loss of fertile land to deserts, Saudi Arabia’s climate envoy knows the Kingdom has more expertise on the subject than most. “We have vast deserts in Saudi Arabia, so we know what it’s like,” Adel Al-Jubeir told Arab News during a special interview. “We need to prevent the erosion of territory and the expansion of deserts. And we need to work on reclaiming land in order to have more for food production and in order to have more so that the negative impacts on climate get reduced.”

Al-Jubeir, who is also minister of state for foreign affairs, was speaking as the Conference of the Parties of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification — known as COP16 — started in Riyadh on Tuesday. The 12 days of talks will covering THREE (3) OF THE MOST PRESSING CHALLENGES FACING HUMANITY, SUCH AS DESERTIFICATION, LAND DEGRADATION AND DROUGHT.

Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country to host the event, the largest desertification COP since the first in 1997, and comes as MOMENTUM GROWS BEHIND GLOBAL FRAMEWORKS TO TACKLE THE ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES FACING THE PLANET. In the wide-ranging conversation, Al-Jubeir discussed the aim of the COP16 talks, why land degradation is a global issue, and SAUDI ARABIA’S LEADERSHIP ROLE ON THE ENVIRONMENT.
For Al-Jubeir, hosting COP16 carries particular significance given the Kingdom’s vulnerability to desertification, but also the work that has already been done to prevent it. The approach in Saudi Arabia has been “very simple” and rooted in science and common sense, he said.
“When you disrupt an environment, it gets damaged. So, what you do is you preserve it. You designate territories to be protected areas,” he told Arab News.
“In 2015, for example, I believe less than 3 percent of Saudi territory was protected. Today, we’re almost at 18 or 19 percent, and we will be at 30 percent by 2030. This is a huge achievement.”
Rewilding, which forms part of the SAUDI AND MIDDLE EAST GREEN INITIATIVES launched in 2021, has also generated huge benefits in terms of being able to reintroduce wildlife into these areas.

The UNCCD describes COP16 as a “critical milestone” in advancing global efforts to combat land degradation
“You do it by introducing little shrubs,” said Al-Jubeir. “Insects come back, and then more plants, and then rodents come back, and then more plants, and you go up until you can introduce an animal like the Arabian leopard, and you restore it, or the oryx or the gazelle. And this is what we’re doing in Saudi Arabia.”
Al-Jubeir said this approach has led to noticeably fewer dust storms than seven or eight years ago, with less territory being disturbed and more areas being planted. He said the Kingdom also tackled the issue by assessing the THREE (3) ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF NEW DEVELOPMENTS, PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE FARMING TECHNIQUES AND ENSURING CITIES WERE FULL OF GREEN SPACES.
“On environmental issues, Saudi Arabia is a leader in global efforts to protect our environment, whether it’s climate, whether it’s oceans, whether it’s land,” Al-Jubeir said.
“SAUDI ARABIA HAS WORKED TO BRING THE WORLD TOGETHER AROUND A VISION that basically says, very simply, we’re all in this together, we all benefit together, or we all suffer together.”
He said SAUDI ARABIA WAS BRINGING MANY MORE COUNTRIES ROUND TO THAT POINT OF VIEW. “OUR LEADERSHIP IS COMMITTED TO THIS. THE VISION FOR 2030 CAME FROM OUR CROWN PRINCE, AND OUR CROWN PRINCE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN LAUNCHING THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE AND THE MIDDLE EAST GREEN INITIATIVE. HE LAUNCHED THE GLOBAL WATER INITIATIVE, THE HOSTING OF COP16,” HE SAID.

“EVERY INITIATIVE WE ARE DOING IN SAUDI ARABIA HAS THE DIRECT BLESSING AND SUPPORT OF OUR LEADERSHIP, AND IT GOES FROM THE TOP LEADERSHIP all the way to the citizen. The whole country is seized by this issue. And so I have no doubt that 10 years from now people will look at Saudi Arabia and they will say SAUDI ARABIA HAS PLAYED AN INSTRUMENTAL ROLE IN LEADING THE WORLD TOWARD A BETTER PLACE.”

Adel Al-Jubeir spoke to Arab News Deputy Editor-in-Chief Noor Nugali as the COP16 summit kicked off in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The hosting of COP16 is about more than simply demonstrating how Saudi Arabia is rehabilitating land; it’s about elevating the importance of desertification on the global stage. “We believe it impacts every human being on the planet,” Al-Jubeir said. “Land is a very important reservoir for carbon. And so, the less there is of it, the less carbon we can capture naturally.
“The earth is important for us in terms of food production. The less we have, the less food we produce, the more hunger and starvation we have. The more migration we have, the more conflict we have, the more extremism and terrorism we have, the more migration impacts political situations in countries in other parts of the world.
“So, it’s very, very important that it impacts all of our lives.”
The fact that COP16 is the biggest since 1997 represents the emergence of desertification as a global issue. Up to 40 percent of the WORLD’S LAND IS DEGRADED, AFFECTING HALF OF ALL HUMANS, according to UNCCD. The consequences are getting worse for the climate, biodiversity and people’s livelihoods. DROUGHTS ARE MORE FREQUENT AND SEVERE, increasing by 29 percent since 2000 due to climate change and unsustainable land use.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1611036409103712
If current trends continue, 1.5 billion hectares of land will need to be restored by 2030 to achieve a land-degradation neutrality.
The UNCCD describes COP16 as a “critical milestone” in advancing global efforts to combat land degradation, desertification and drought.
Under the title “Our Land. Our Future,” 196 countries and the EU have gathered in Riyadh to negotiate solutions, along with experts and civil society.
On Monday, the first day of the negotiations, Saudi Arabia announced the Riyadh Global Drought Resilience Partnership, an INITIATIVE TO HELP 80 OF THE POOREST COUNTRIES COPE WITH DROUGHTS. THE PARTNERSHIP HAS SECURED $2.15 BILLION IN FUNDING PLEDGES.
Also in Riyadh, SAUDI CROWN PRINCE AND PRIME MINISTER MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN OPENED THE ONE WATER SUMMIT ON TUESDAY. ATTENDED BY FRENCH PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON and Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the event aims to act as an “incubator for solutions” ahead of the next UN Water Conference.

“Water is the source of life,” Al-Jubeir said. “You can’t survive without it.” The summit looks at how water can be used most efficiently and not wasted, he explained. “These are issues where knowledge is important, science is important and sharing of methods and sharing of science are important,” he said.
It is this sharing of expertise that UNDERPINS SAUDI ARABIA’S APPROACH TO TAKING A LEAD GLOBALLY ON THE MAJOR ISSUES FACING THE PLANET.
Looking ahead, Al-Jubeir said: “We can either waste our time pointing fingers and trying to take political positions and grandstand, and try to appeal to lowest common denominators, or we can join together and practically, pragmatically, scientifically deal with the challenges that we’re facing, and we will overcome them together.
“Here’s the choice: Do we engage in theatrics and fight and get nowhere, or do we engage in serious work and get a handle around the problem? That’s where we’re heading, I believe, and I believe WE’RE HEADING THERE BECAUSE MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN IS PLAYING AN INCREASINGLY BIG ROLE IN THE GLOBAL EFFORTS TO DEAL WITH THOSE CHALLENGES.” THE HOSTING OF COP16 AND THE ONE WATER SUMMIT IS THE LATEST EXAMPLE OF MBS BEING AT THE FOREFRONT OF GLOBAL EFFORTS TO TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE AND CHALLENGES TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman speaks during the One Water Summit in Riyadh on December 3, 2024
Al-Jubeir dismissed criticism that the country, as the world’s top crude oil exporter, is not suited for such a role. “Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of oil in the world, and we’re very proud of it,” he said. “We are providing the world with the energy that it needs in order to warm itself, in order to feed itself, in order to develop economically, in order to improve standards of living. And so that is one part.
“The other part of Saudi Arabia, as the largest oil producer/exporter in the world, is we are also one of the major proponents for protecting THREE (3) MAIN AREAS, THE ENVIRONMENT, INVESTING IN NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND INVESTING IN RENEWABLE ENERGY.
“Whether it’s solar, whether it’s hydro, whether it’s wind, whether it’s green and clean hydrogen, we are huge investors in this field because we believe that that’s where the future is. And so, there is no contradiction between the two.” Taking the lead on green issues is also an approach popular with young people in Saudi Arabia, Al-Jubeir said, insisting the younger generations would be instrumental in halting desertification and creating a better living environment in the Kingdom overall.
Despite the many stark warnings about the effects of climate change, Al-Jubeir said the will of young people to tackle the issues, along with the direction from the country’s leaders, meant HE WAS POSITIVE ABOUT HOW SAUDI ARABIA WOULD APPEAR IN 10 YEARS’ TIME.
“You will see that Saudi Arabia will be ahead of the world in terms of parks, in terms of fitness, in terms of land restoration, in terms of reintegration of animals into the wildlife, in terms of how pristine its beaches are, in terms of its corals, in terms of its mangroves, in terms of its agriculture, all across the board,” he said. “We are determined, with courage, and with leadership, and with enthusiasm, to get there.”

COP16 OPENS IN RIYADH WITH $2BN PLEDGED TO COMBAT GLOBAL DROUGHT CRISIS

Updated 3 min 31 sec ago REEM WALID MANAL AL-BARAKATI December 02, 202414:57 ARAB NEWS
RIYADH: A landmark initiative to tackle droughts secured $2 billion in funding on the opening day of COP16 in Riyadh.
In what is THE LARGEST-EVER MEETING OF THE UN CONVENTION TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION, COP16 President Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhley announced the Riyadh Drought Resilience Partnership during a first day filled with high-level speeches.
Initially funded with $150 million from Saudi Arabia, more financing for the partnership was announced by the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund for International Development, with both pledging $1 billion each.
Drought has become a persistent reality for much of the world, increasing by nearly 30 percent over the past two decades and now accounting for 15 percent of all natural disasters globally. By 2050, three out of every four people on Earth could be affected, according to data shared during the opening session of COP16, which runs from Dec. 2 to 13.

“THE LAUNCHING OF THE RIYADH GLOBAL DROUGHT RESILIENCE PARTNERSHIP AIMS AT PROMOTING MULTILATERAL EFFORTS TO PROMOTE RESILIENCE, NAMELY IN THE COUNTRIES MOST IMPACTED BY DROUGHT. It includes proactive partnerships to support the UNCCD,” Al-Fadhley said as he announced the new initiative.
During the Ministerial Dialogue on Drought Resilience, chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad Al-Jasser set out his institution’s motivation for injecting funds into the partnership, saying: “DROUGHT REMAINS AN EVER-PRESENT CHALLENGE. OF THE 10 COUNTRIES MOST EXPOSED IN 2024, SIX ARE ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK MEMBERS.”
A delegate representing the OPEC Fund for International Development said its “substantial commitment” reflects a determination to support proactive solutions that restore degraded land, strengthen resilience, and enhance the well-being of vulnerable communities.
SAUDI ARABIA’S LEADERSHIP IN LAUNCHING THE RIYADH DROUGHT RESILIENCE PARTNERSHIP WAS LAUDED AS A PROACTIVE MOVE TO ADDRESS THE ESCALATING CRISIS.
“The global community is looking to us for tangible solutions. Strong political will and ambitious targets are essential,” said a South African delegate, urging the adoption of practical measures, including public-private partnerships and harmonized financial flows to build resilience.

GROWING CRISIS: ‘DROUGHT IS NO LONGER A FUTURE THREAT’
Speakers at the high-level ministerial dialogue painted a stark picture of the CASCADING EFFECTS OF DROUGHT, FROM REDUCED CROP YIELDS AND FOOD INSECURITY TO DISRUPTED WATER AND ENERGY SYSTEMS.
“A child born during a drought is more likely to suffer permanent learning deficiencies, which may pass on to future generations. This crisis perpetuates cycles of poverty and fragility,” warned Saroj Kumar Jha, global director for water at the World Bank. The organization has discovered that developing economies are ten times more likely to suffer severe economic repercussions from drought compared to wealthier nations.
A CALL FOR UNIFIED ACTION
Innovation also took center stage at COP16, with the launch of the World Drought Atlas. The Atlas provides critical insights into DROUGHT’S THREE IMPACTS ON AGRICULTURE, ECOSYSTEMS, AND VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES.

Technologies like early warning systems and satellite monitoring were highlighted as vital tools in forecasting and mitigating drought risks.
“For every dollar invested in proactive measures such as land restoration, the return can be up to $10,” said the UNCCD Executive Secretary Ibrahim Thiaw.
A DEFINING MOMENT FOR GLOBAL RESILIENCE
The conference signals a turning point in addressing drought not as an isolated event but as A SYSTEMIC CRISIS REQUIRING COORDINATED GLOBAL ACTION.
“Drought management must shift from reactive crisis response to long-term preparedness and resilience,” said Thiaw, calling for investments in (3) SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT, INCLUSIVE SOLUTIONS, AND INNOVATIVE FINANCING MECHANISMS.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s incoming COP16 president vowed to work with the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO TACKLE DROUGHT AND DESERTIFICATION ON THE FIRST DAY OF A UN CONFERENCE in Riyadh.
Abdulrahman Al-Fadli, the Kingdom’s minister of environment, used his speech at the event – being held from Dec. 2 to 13 under the theme “OUR LAND. OUR FUTURE” – TO REFLECT ON THE CHALLENGES FACING THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY.
Al-Fadli said he was “honoured” to have been elected president, adding: “We look forward to intensifying action under this convention to face the challenges and promote integration between various international environment organizations.”
REFLECTING ON THE CHALLENGES AHEAD, HE EMPHASIZED THE KINGDOM’S COMMITMENT TO COMBATING DESERTIFICATION, ADDING: “THE MIDDLE EAST IS ONE OF THE REGIONS MOST IMPACTED BY LAND DEGRADATION, DROUGHT, AND DESERTIFICATION. WE SEEK TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.”
THE ENVIRONMENT MINISTER HIGHLIGHTED VISION 2030 AS A CORNERSTONE FOR THE KINGDOM’S 2030 GREEN AGENDA, SAYING: “PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES IS ESSENTIAL FOR ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE.”

SAUDI ARABIA’S ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Al-Fadli detailed the Kingdom’s objectives, including the SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE, which aims to restore 40 million hectares of degraded land and increase national reserves by 30 percent by 2030.
He added: “We have established initiatives and programs to limit pollution, develop vegetation cover, and improve waste management and meteorological services.” Addressing broader approaches, Al-Fadli highlighted that Saudi Arabia has adopted the National Environment Strategy and established a fund for environmental causes, as well as FIVE SPECIALIZED CENTERS.

He underlined EFFORTS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY: “WE AIM TO ENSURE MORE THAN 50 (5) PERCENT OF OUR ENERGY MIX COMES FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES BY 2030, REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS SIGNIFICANTLY.”
GLOBAL AND LOCAL PERSPECTIVES
Mayor of Riyadh Faisal bin Abdul Aziz bin Ayyaf highlighted the interconnected nature of environmental challenges, saying: “NO COUNTRY OR CITY CAN ADDRESS THESE CHALLENGES ALONE. THROUGH INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND COLLECTIVE WORK, WE CAN FIND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO RESTORE OUR LAND AND DEVELOP OUR CITIES.”
He added: “WE COORDINATE INITIATIVES TO ENSURE RIYADH CAN BE A MODEL FOR THE WORLD.”

Amina Mohammed, DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE UN, called for urgent global action, particularly around strengthening international cooperation on land degradation, ramping up restoration work, and mobilizing finance at scale.

OUTGOING PRESIDENT’S REFLECTIONS
COP15 president Donwahi praised Saudi Arabia’s capability to continue the battle against land degradation, saying there is no doubt in the Kingdom’s ability to “elevate our shared legacy even further” as it stands at the forefront of challenges such as sandstorms and drought. Stressing the ongoing nature of the mission, he said: “We have remained optimistic. However, the situation remains urgent. We must go further and faster.”
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
Ibrahim Thiaw, executive secretary of the UNCCD, used his speech to warn that close to 40 percent of the planet’s surface is affected by land degradation.
“This disease is progressing at a terrifying pace,” he added. Thiaw expressed his “deepest gratitude” to SAUDI ARABIA FOR ITS “VISION IN ELEVATING THE GLOBAL LAND RESTORATION AND DROUGHT RESILIENCE AGENDA.”
The conference also looked ahead to COP17 in Mongolia, with Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene expressing his country’s readiness.
U.N. ISSUES LATEST CALL FOR FUNDS: CRIES ‘WORLD ON FIRE’ AS IT SEEKS $47 BILLION IN AID

Simon Kent 4 Dec 2024 BREITBART
The United Nations on Wednesday cried poor and said it wants $47 billion in donor aid for 2025 as officials fear cuts from Western states in general and the U.S. in particular ahead of noted critic President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
“THE WORLD IS ON FIRE,” the U.S.’s new humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher told reporters in Geneva, acknowledging he was looking ahead to 2025 with “dread.”
His warning was AN ECHO OF THE APOCALYPTIC WARNINGS TO THE WORLD CONTINUALLY ISSUED BY U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL ANTONIO GUTERRES.
MBS MAKES ‘PACT’ WITH THE UNITED NATIONS

The British career diplomat cited spiralling conflicts in places like Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, alongside CLIMATE DEMANDS TAKING AN EVER-HEAVIER TOLL, the U.N. estimated that 305 million people globally will need some form of emergency assistance next year, AFP reports.
“WE ARE DEALING WITH A POLY-CRISIS RIGHT NOW GLOBALLY, and it is the most vulnerable people in the world who are paying the price,” Fletcher said, warning a host of challenges had created a “perfect storm” of needs.
Launching the Global Humanitarian Overview, Fletcher acknowledged that the U.N. and its partners would not be able to reach all of those in need. As the U.N. calls for more money, it also faces the prospect of critic Trump’s return to high office and his past demands the organization be more responsible in how it disperses its donations.
He has long pushed for reform of the U.N. and in 2019 cautioned the “future does not belong to globalists” in a warning to the organization’s leaders. In December 2017 Nikki Haley, the then United States Ambassador to the organization, announced the federal government had reduced its contribution to the U.N.’s annual budget by $285 million, as Breitbart News reported. Haley’s statement came after the U.N. voted to condemn Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The resolution, backed by nations with long records of extreme human rights abuses, passed 128-9. Haley immediately responded by threatening to reduce America’s U.N. funding. A record 123 million people were living displaced from their homes due to conflict by mid-2024, while one in every five children globally living in or fleeing conflict zones, according to U.N. figures. “The suffering behind the numbers is all the more unconscionable for being man-made,” Fletcher said.
“WARS IN GAZA, SUDAN AND UKRAINE ARE MARKED BY THE FEROCITY AND INTENSITY OF THE KILLING, THE COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR INTERNATIONAL LAW, AND THE DELIBERATE OBSTRUCTION OF OUR HUMANITARIAN MOVEMENT’S EFFORT TO SAVE LIVES.”

PRIVATE SECTOR MUST BE PART OF THE SOLUTION IN SAUDI LAND CONSERVATION
Updated 13 min 51 sec ago Ghadi Joudah December 02, 202416:48
RIYADH: The private sector must play a pivotal role in Saudi Arabia’s land conservation efforts, according to the Kingdom’s deputy minister of environment and adviser to the president of COP16, Osama Faqeeha.
Faqeeha shared this message during the COP16 opening press conference on Dec. 2, underscoring the need for businesses to contribute actively to environmental sustainability. “Businesses can be part of the solution by focusing their investments in infrastructure, integrating drought resilience, sustainable land management, biodiversity protection, and climate resilience into their operations, while also leveraging innovation,” Faqeeha stated.
The deputy minister emphasized that environmental protection must become a core element of business strategy: “That needs to be a visible and tangible financial contribution of the private sector in land conservation.”
Faqeeha highlighted that such investments would bring multiple benefits to businesses, including improved biodiversity, climate resilience, food security, and social well-being. “The business of exploiting degraded land and then moving to recover virgin land is not sustainable—environmentally, socially, or even for the businesses themselves,” he added.
Faqeeha also warned about the broader impacts of land degradation on business stability: “We are seeing now that land degradation is a major cause of migration and conflict. And, of course, political instability is not good for business, so companies must consider these factors as well.”
His call for greater private sector involvement aligns with SAUDI ARABIA’S GROWING ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES, EMPHASIZING THE NEED FOR COLLABORATION BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESSES IN ADDRESSING PRESSING ECOLOGICAL CHALLENGES.
Faqeeha’s comments reflect a shift toward integrating sustainability into business models, demonstrating that preserving the environment can also protect long-term corporate interests. He stressed that innovative solutions must be scaled up, particularly in light of the significant economic costs associated with land degradation. During the press conference, Ibrahim Thiaw, the executive secretary of the UNCCD, also urged for a more prominent role for the private sector in combating global land degradation, stressing that it is a major driver of the crisis.
“We are very happy to have high-level participation from the private sector at COP16,” Thiaw said. “This is not only for governments to negotiate among themselves, but also to engage the private sector because the number one driver of land degradation in the world is FOOD SYSTEMS, MINING, AND COTTON PRODUCTION FOR FASHION.”

Thiaw commended Saudi Arabia for its leadership in addressing drought and land degradation, especially in the world’s most vulnerable regions. “I would like to thank the government of Saudi Arabia for sparking this movement, which will likely take us the next 10 years or more to reverse the tide on drought,” he noted.
The initiative, Thiaw explained, targets the 80 poorest countries, as well as lower-middle-income nations, to help them transition from reactive drought responses to proactive measures like early warning systems and agricultural resilience.
Highlighting the urgency of the issue, Thiaw noted: “We have already degraded 40 percent of the land in the world.” He stressed that restoring 1.5 billion hectares of degraded land could help PRODUCE NECESSARY FOOD, PROVIDE CLEAN WATER, AND PROVIDE BREATHABLE AIR.
Thiaw also pointed out the need for increased financing, particularly from the private sector. “Only 6 percent of land restoration funding comes from the private sector,” he said. “We need the private sector to invest in their land and business to secure their production and ensure their activities are sustainable in the long run.”
As the global population grows, Thiaw warned that food systems must evolve. “We need to produce twice as much food by 2050 to feed a growing population and middle class,” he stated. Thiaw identified addressing DROUGHT, LAND RESTORATION, AND FINANCING as key priorities in the fight against global land degradation.
Prof. Johan Rockström, director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, also spoke about the goals of COP16, anticipated outcomes, and insights drawn from the SPECIAL REPORT ON LAND: PLANETARY BOUNDARIES: CONFRONTING THE GLOBAL CRISIS OF LAND DEGRADATION.
The report provides practical suggestions for promoting sustainable land use and food production to protect human health and the environment. “Humanity is at a critical juncture, and for the first time, WE NEED TO CONSIDER THE REAL RISK OF DESTABILIZING LIFE SUPPORT ON THE ENTIRE PLANET,” Rockström said.
He noted that current trends in global warming could push temperatures over 3°C within 75 years, a scenario he described as catastrophic. “This is a pathway that unequivocally leads to disaster. There’s absolutely no scientific evidence that we can support a world population under such conditions,” he added. The global land area affected by degradation, which spans approximately 15 million sq. km, is increasing by about 1 million sq. km annually.
Rockström stressed the critical role of land in reversing this trend. “Land is a fundamental precondition that will determine whether or not we can turn this around or continue down an unstoppable path toward even worse warming levels,” he said. He outlined the devastating consequences of continued land degradation, warning: “We are losing 1 million sq. km of healthy land each year.” THIS LOSS, he noted, IS PUSHING THE PLANET TOWARD DISASTER.
“Unsustainable land management—how WE MANAGE AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY, AND LAND USE—is the SINGLE LARGEST EMITTER OF GREENHOUSE GASES IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, contributing roughly 23 percent of emissions,” he said. However, intact ecosystems still absorb 25 percent of carbon dioxide emissions, creating a delicate balance.
“The planet is just barely balancing,” Rockström cautioned. “For every day we lose more intact land, we lose that capacity, and the teetering balance will collapse.”
NEOM GREEN HYDROGEN TARGETS GLOBAL MARKET LEADERSHIP

Updated 4 min 19 sec ago Nadin Hassan Nour El-Shaeri December 05, 202409:51
RIYADH: NEOM GREEN HYDROGEN CO., PART OF SAUDI ARABIA’S FUTURISTIC CITY NEOM, IS BUILDING A FOUNDATION FOR A TRANSFORMATIVE CLEAN ENERGY SECTOR, AIMING FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIP rather than merely establishing the world’s largest production plant, said its CEO.
In an interview with Arab News on the sidelines of (5) THE SAUDI GREEN INITIATIVE FORUM, Wesam Al-Ghamdi emphasized the project’s broader objectives, highlighting its (5) ALIGNMENT WITH SAUDI ARABIA’S VISION 2030 and the country’s (5) DECARBONIZATION AND ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION GOALS.
“When we are in production by December 2026, the 1.2 million tonnes of ammonia we’re going to be producing is equivalent to decarbonizing 22,000 heavy trucks. That’s up to FIVE 5 MILLION TONNES OF CARBON EMISSIONS SAVED,” Al-Ghamdi said.
“But even beyond that, IT GOES TO US BUILDING NEOM GREEN HYDROGEN, BUILDING THE INDUSTRY IN SAUDI ARABIA, BUILDING THE SKILL SETS AND THE KNOW-HOW WITHIN THE KINGDOM,” he said.

The CEO noted that the project also serves as a model for large-scale hydrogen production, POSITIONING SAUDI ARABIA AS A LEADER IN THE GLOBAL HYDROGEN ECONOMY.
The plant will be powered entirely by solar and wind energy, with a 2.2-gigawatt electrolyzer designed for continuous hydrogen production. Construction is progressing rapidly, with over 60 percent of key infrastructure completed, including the HYDROGEN PROCESSING PLANT, SOLAR FACILITY, AND WIND FARM.

“To date, we have received and installed every major piece of equipment,” Al-Ghamdi revealed, pointing to critical milestones such as the INSTALLATION OF ELECTROLYZERS, HYDROGEN STORAGE SYSTEMS, AND AMMONIA TANKS, all contributing to the plant’s readiness for operation.
In addition to construction, NGHC is focused on building its operational capabilities by recruiting skilled professionals and forging partnerships with educational institutions to develop a strong local talent pool. “We are also building the company today in terms of the operation and maintenance PROCEDURES, POLICIES, AND RECRUITMENT,” Al-Ghamdi said.
Looking ahead, NGHC is set to operate a single electrolyzer at ENOWA’s Hydrogen Innovation and Development Center in Oxagon. The electrolyzer, which was always planned as part of the HIDC, will play a crucial role in refining processes and training engineers.
The company has also secured key partnerships to ensure the project’s long-term success. These include agreements with Thyssenkrupp for R&D on the technology, Baker Hughes to localize manufacturing of hydrogen compressors, and long-term service agreements with suppliers like Envision for wind turbines. Additionally, NGHC has partnered with Topsoe for ammonia plant technology.
THE SCALE AND AMBITION OF THE PROJECT AIM TO POSITION SAUDI ARABIA AS A GLOBAL LEADER IN THE HYDROGEN MARKET. NGHC has also signed a 30-year offtake agreement with Air Products, allowing its hydrogen output to be converted into ammonia for easier transport and distribution to international markets. This strategic partnership ensures the plant can meet the growing global demand for hydrogen, particularly in the heavy transport and industrial manufacturing sectors.
Reflecting on the significance of the project, Al-Ghamdi described it as more than just an industrial endeavor. “Our existence by itself is the answer,” he said when asked about how the project will scale the Kingdom’s clean energy transition. “WE’RE ACTUALLY BUILDING THE HYDROGEN PRODUCTION AT THE SCALE NO ONE HAS EVER ATTEMPTED TO. THIS SCALE IS DEFINITELY THE BLUEPRINT FOR EVERYBODY ELSE TO FOLLOW, TO BUILD AT THIS SCALE. SO, THE WORLD CAN GET THE DEMAND OF HYDROGEN.”
SAUDI ARABIA’S NEOM GIGAPROJECT A ‘GENERATIONAL INVESTMENT,’

Foreign investors starting to come to NEOM, minister says. (REUTERS)
RIYADH: SAUDI ARABIA’S NEOM GIGAPROJECT, A FUTURISTIC REGION BEING BUILT IN THE DESERT, IS A “GENERATIONAL INVESTMENT” WITH A LONG TIMELINE, THE COUNTRY’S INVESTMENT MINISTER TOLD REUTERS ON MONDAY, ADDING THAT FOREIGN INVESTMENT WILL PICK UP PACE.
“NEOM WAS NOT MEANT TO BE A TWO-YEAR INVESTABLE OPPORTUNITY. If anybody expected NEOM to be foreign investment in two, three or five years, then they have gotten (it) wrong — IT’S A GENERATIONAL INVESTMENT,” Minister Khalid Al-Falih said on the sidelines of the WORLD INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN RIYADH.
NEOM BABYLON: MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN’S ‘BEAST’S SEAT’ OR ‘GREAT CITY.’
“The flywheel is starting and it will gain speed as we go forward, as some of the foundational assets come to the market,” he said. The world’s top oil exporter has poured hundreds of billions of dollars into development projects through the kingdom’s $925 billion sovereign fund, the PUBLIC INVESTMENT FUND (PIF), AS IT UNDERGOES AN ECONOMIC AGENDA DUBBED VISION 2030 to cut dependence on fossil fuels.
NEOM, A RED SEA URBAN AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT nearly the size of Belgium that is meant to eventually house 9 million people, IS CENTRAL TO VISION 2030. SAUDI ARABIA HAS SCALED BACK SOME LOFTY AMBITIONS TO PRIORITIZE COMPLETING ELEMENTS ESSENTIAL TO HOSTING GLOBAL SPORTING EVENTS OVER THE NEXT DECADE as rising costs weigh, sources told Reuters earlier this month. NEOM announced this month its long-time chief executive, Nadhmi Al-Nasr, had stepped down, without giving further details.

THE RESURGENCE OF BABEL NEOM: MBS’ PERSONAL DYSTOPIA
Asked what effect the departure would have on investors, the minister said the executive had done “a respectable job” but that “there is a time for everybody to pass on the baton.” Asked if PIF will continue to do much of the spending on NEOM until more foreign funds come in, Al-Falih said it was not binary.
“I THINK FOREIGN INVESTORS ARE STARTING TO COME TO NEOM, THEY’RE STARTING TO CHANNEL CAPITAL. SOME OF THE PROJECTS THAT THE PIF WILL BE DOING WILL BE FINANCED THROUGH GLOBAL CAPITAL POOLS, THROUGH SOME ALTERNATIVE AND PRIVATE CAPITAL. That’s taking place as we speak,” he said.
“So I urge you not to look at NEOM as being 100 percent PIF and then suddenly there will be a cliff and it will go private.” SAUDI ARABIA, WHICH IS RACING TO ATTRACT $100 BILLION IN ANNUAL FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT BY THE TURN OF THE DECADE — REACHING ABOUT A QUARTER OF THAT IN 2023 — HAS RECENTLY SEEN MORE CO-INVESTMENT DEALS BETWEEN STATE ENTITIES AND FOREIGN INVESTORS. “It’s always been the intent,” Al-Falih said of FOREIGN INFLOWS ALONGSIDE STATE FUNDS.

He noted that foreign investors were at times “still looking, still examining, still sometimes questioning,” but that NOW THERE WAS CONFIDENCE IN THE PROFITABILITY OF INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND THAT “THE RISK-RETURN TRADE-OFFS ARE VERY, VERY FAIR AND POSITIVE TO THEM.”

‘ESCALATING BLOODSHED’
In November 2024, another AFP tally found that THE KINGDOM EXECUTED OVER 100 FOREIGNERS IN 2024 – THE HIGHEST TOTAL OF FOREIGNERS EXECUTED IN ONE YEAR, ALMOST TRIPLE THE FIGURES FOR 2023 AND 2022. SAUDI HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS AND LAWYERS HAVE ACCUSED MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN OF OVERSEEING A CRACKDOWN ON FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION SINCE HE CAME TO POWER, including the introduction of a counterterrorism law that Human Rights Watch has criticised for its broad definition of terrorism.
“THESE NUMBERS REFLECT THE ESCALATING BLOODSHED SINCE KING SALMAN AND HIS CROWN PRINCE, MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN, CAME TO POWER. THEY ALSO CONFIRM THE FALSITY OF ALL THE CLAIMS OF REFORM AND CHANGE THAT BIN SALMAN HAS RAISED FOR YEARS,” Duaa Dhainy, senior researcher at ESOHR, told Middle East Eye. “WHAT IS ALSO WORRYING IS THE USE OF THIS PUNISHMENT AGAINST POLITICAL OPPONENTS, AND FOR CRIMES THAT ARE NOT THE MOST SERIOUS,” she added.
AT LEAST 1,115 EXECUTIONS HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT UNDER BIN SALMAN’S RULE BETWEEN 21 JUNE 2017 AND 9 OCTOBER 2024. Additionally, according to rights NGO Reprieve, SAUDI ARABIA HAS REPEATEDLY LIED TO THE UN ABOUT ITS USE OF THE DEATH PENALTY.

IN NUMEROLOGY, GEMATRIA (/ɡəˈmeɪtriə/; Hebrew: גמטריא or גימטריה, gimatria, plural גמטראות or גימטריות, gimatriot) is THE PRACTICE OF ASSIGNING A NUMERICAL VALUE TO A NAME, WORD OR PHRASE BY READING IT AS A NUMBER, OR SOMETIMES BY USING AN ALPHANUMERICAL CIPHER.
In the Textus Receptus manuscripts of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation (13:17–18) cryptically asserts 666 to be “the man’s number” or “the number of a man” (depending on how the text is translated) associated with the Beast, AN ANTAGONISTIC CREATURE THAT APPEARS BRIEFLY ABOUT 66.6% INTO THE APOCALYPTIC VISION. Some manuscripts[which?] of the original Koine Greek use the symbols χξϛ chi xi stigma (or χξϝ with a digamma), while other manuscripts spell out the number in words.

THERE ARE A TOTAL OF TEN (10) COMBINED REFERENCES OF EVIL MEN TAKING THE BEAST’S MARK, NUMBER OR NAME. These three descriptions are synonymous with being identified with (or belonging) to the beast and his system. Ten (10) denotes God’s allness or physical completeness regarding things on earth. These ten references indicate man’s complete earthly evilness and damnation resulting from taking either the mark, number or name of the beast and his kingdom.
These men are so deceived and evil, that they not only allow themselves to worship the beast and his fake image, but they allow themselves to be physically ‘branded’ or marked in order to be identified with the beast. Evil men obtain this mark, number or name so they can also participate in the global economy in terms of buying and selling. They have to be identified as having this mark, number or name, physically evident on either their right hand or forehead, in order to be allowed to execute a purchasing or selling transaction. Once evil men worship the beast, his image and take his mark (or number, name), they are damned.
There are three verses regarding a very specific, powerful and clear angelic warning given to men on earth, to NOT worship the beast, or his image, or take his mark (name, number). THREE (3) DENOTES GOD’S EMPHASIS AND INTENSITY.
. . . “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Rev. 14:9, 14:10, 14:11)
Twice (2) the message is directed at men. The angel repeats himself indicating that the message is for men and what behavior is judged eternally sinful (for ever and ever). Men who worship the beast, his image and take his mark will;
- Experience God’s wrath.
- God’s wrath will not be diluted, or held back, but given in full strength.
- They will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone for torment.
- There torment will be forever and ever (eternity).
- Their torment will be witnessed by holy angels.
- Their torment will take place in the presence of the Lamb.
- They will have no rest day or night, forever and ever (eternity).
THERE ARE SEVEN (7) SPECIFIC RESULTS THAT STEM FROM MEN WORSHIPPING THE BEAST, HIS IMAGE AND TAKING HIS MARK (NAME OR NUMBER). SEVEN (7) DENOTES GOD’S DIVINELY DETERMINED COMPLETENESS AS TO HIS PURPOSE OR PLAN. Eternal punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone, day and night is the strongest wrath that God gives evil men (and Satan, beast/antichrist and false prophet). There is a specific mention that this torment takes place in the presence of the Lamb. These men, while in their torment, will see or consciously be aware of the existence of Jesus Christ. This will provide added pain, anguish and misery since they will be painfully made aware of the choice of their decisions (to worship the beast, his image and take his mark). They were warned not to do what they did.
The Bible gives plenty of examples of the glory that is given to those who did NOT worship the beast, his image or take his mark. Yet, despite the angelic warning . . . despite the 3 ½ year testimony of two witness and prophets . . . despite the witnessing of Tribulation Saints . . . despite the flying angel who proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ . . . evil men still chose to worship the beast, his image and to take his mark, name or number.
They chose to ignore the messages, the warnings, and the testimonies. And now, they are in the lake of fire and brimstone, and will have to pay the price for their evil decision(s), for eternity. They see Jesus Christ, and have become painfully aware of what they could have had through Jesus Christ and instead, they chose the false, empty promises of Satan by worshipping the beast, his image and taking his mark, name or number.
Their extreme bitterness and woeful regret will emotionally torment them for eternity, in addition to the physical pain, suffering and torment that they will experience in the lake of fire for eternity. Through their decision to follow Satan, God gave them exactly what they wanted. They did not want anything to do with Jesus Christ, who paid for their sins with his own blood. As such, God gave them over to Satan, since it was their free decision or choice, and what they desired while they were physically alive on earth.
These evil men did everything humanly possible to ignore warnings, to blaspheme God, to ignore the gospel of Jesus Christ, and instead they accepted and believed in lies, worshipped Satan, the beast and his image. Evil men even went so far as to physically defile their bodies (flesh) by taking the branding (mark, number or name) of the beast. All of these actions and behaviors enabled evil men to give themselves totally and wholeheartedly over to Satan through his system of the beast/antichrist and the false prophet.
There are two visions describing what John the Apostle saw, regarding men who were overcomers (them that had gotten victory) by NOT worshipping the beast, his image or taking his mark, number or name.

. . . “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgements are made manifest.” (Rev. 15:2, 15:3, 15:4).
. . . “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:4).
Men who do NOT worship the beast, his image and take his mark are described as;
- THEY ARE IN HEAVEN (STAND ON A SEA OF GLASS).
- THEY HAVE HARPS OF GOD.
- THEY SING PRAISES AND WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST FOR THEIR SALVATION.
- THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT GOD’S JUDGEMENTS CAME TO PASS.
- THEY ARE GIVEN THRONES UPON WHICH THEY SIT UPON.
- THEY ARE GIVEN JUDGEMENT.
- THEY LIVE AND REIGN WITH CHRIST FOR A THOUSAND YEARS.
THERE ARE SEVEN (7) SPECIFIC RESULTS THAT STEM FROM MEN NOT WORSHIPPING THE BEAST, HIS IMAGE AND TAKING HIS MARK (NAME OR NUMBER). SEVEN (7) DENOTES GOD’S DIVINELY DETERMINED COMPLETENESS AS TO HIS PURPOSE OR PLAN. These blessings or glories are the complete opposite of what awaits those men who DID worship the beast, his image and took his mark, name, number.
- THE RIGHTEOUS ARE IN HEAVEN FOR ETERNITY VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO ARE IN THE LAKE OF FIRE AND BRIMSTONE FOR ETERNITY.
- THE RIGHTEOUS ARE JOYFUL AND PLAY HARPS VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO ARE BITTER, RESENTFUL, ANGRY, TORMENTED, CRY AND WAIL IN ANGUISH.
- THE RIGHTEOUS SING THE PRAISE OF AND WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO ONCE PRAISED AND WORSHIPPED SATAN (THROUGH THE BEAST, HIS IMAGE AND IN TAKING HIS MARK).
- RIGHTEOUS MEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WHAT GOD SAID WOULD COME TO PASS, IN FACT DID COME TO PASS (MADE MANIFEST) VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO IGNORED AND REJECTED WARNINGS, THE GOSPEL AND TESTIMONIES OF THE TRUTH.
- THE RIGHTEOUS ARE GIVEN THRONES IN HEAVEN VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO ARE DROWNING IN TORMENT IN THE LAKE OF FIRE.
- THE RIGHTEOUS ARE GIVEN JUDGEMENT VERSUS EVIL MEN WHO ARE JUDGED.
- THE RIGHTEOUS LIVE AND REIGN WITH CHRIST VERSES EVIL MEN WHO DIE AND FALL WITH SATAN.
The avoidance of doing these five (5) eternal sins is one of the most important themes, in the entire book of Revelation. Men must avoid doing these things, literally at all costs. Even to the point of being beheaded or martyred. Men’s eternal destinies depend on it. Worshipping the beast, his image and taking his mark, name or number result in eternal damnation. There is no way of sugar coating or downplaying this reality.

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with FIRE AND BRIMSTONE in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were CAST ALIVE INTO A LAKE OF FIRE BURNING WITH BRIMSTONE.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.
