Siberian wildfires dwarf all others on Earth combined. Smoke just reached the North Pole in a first. ‘This year the wildfires have released an equivalent of more than 505 (5, 5) million tons of carbon dioxide, and the wildfire season isn’t over yet. Over 15 (5+5+5) cities on RED ALERT; Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Cagliari, Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Rieti, Rome, Trieste and Viterbo. ‘Heat is so intense it is a danger to the health of the general population and not just the elderly and the fragile.’
