MOHAMMED BIN SALMAN, THE CROWN PRINCE OF SAUDI ARABIA, WAS AMONG THE WORLD LEADERS WHO HELPED MOSCOW AND WASHINGTON NEGOTIATE A HISTORIC PRISONER EXCHANGE, Russian President Vladimir Putin has revealed.
The powerful member of the Saudi ruling family “played an active role in the first phase of negotiations,” the Russian leader said on Thursday during a panel discussion hosted by the EASTERN ECONOMIC FORUM IN VLADIVOSTOK.

A total of 26 people were swapped following lengthy negotiations, which also involved Germany and Belarus. The scale of the event was the largest since the Cold War. Among those on the list was Evan Gershkovich, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal who was convicted in Russia earlier this year on espionage charges.
Putin reiterated that, contrary to claims by the US government and Gershkovich’s employer, he had been illegally collecting intelligence in Russia. The exchange was in everyone’s interests, he added.
Moscow sees it as a success, since some of the Russians who were released had “conducted special missions on foreign soil in the interests of the motherland,” the president said.

Elon Musk is cosying up to Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, as he prepares to present her with the Atlantic Council’s Global Citizenship Award at the end of the month in New York. The public display of friendship comes as Musk eyes the Italian space sector.
In May, the New York Times reported a trend in Musk’s relationships with world leaders. He would get close to them bolstered by his control of X, formerly Twitter, and business relationships would soon flourish.
Given this context, how important is a seemingly superficial public display of closeness between Musk and Meloni? And does one man wield so much influence that his friendships can determine massive investment flows into whole economies?
Global friendships
When Argentinian President Javier Milei won the election, Musk immediately posted on X, “Prosperity is ahead for Argentina.” It was followed by public displays of support through X including reposting stories and sharing positive information about each other.
In April they also met at Tesla’s factory in Austin, Texas where they discussed “the need to liberate markets” and “the importance of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles that keep investors away,” according to a statement from Milei’s office.
The friendship occurs against the backdrop of Tesla’s interest in Argentina’s lithium. Musk has called lithium “the new oil” and Argentina has the world’s second-largest reserves.
The Argentinian government recently passed the incentive regime for large investments (RIGI) which gives investors generous tax incentives and lightens the load of bureaucratic processes. The reform is meant to help invigorate the country’s crisis-riddled economy. The law would heavily benefit Tesla, as it would give them stable access to lithium.
Musk’s companies have also been mentioned by name. After passing a set of 366 provisions upon taking office, Milei discussed the reforms in a televised address and mentioned Starlink. It was the only corporate brand name that made it into the address.
SIMILAR NARRATIVES HAVE UNFOLDED IN OTHER COUNTRIES.
Musk has formed a LONG-STANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH INDIA’S PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI, starting with a visit to a Tesla factory in California in 2015. Throughout the years, Modi has felt like Musk’s willingness to engage with him has opened doors for India.
For a long time, there had been an implicit ban on electric vehicles from foreign manufacturers in India, a potentially huge market for Tesla. Simultaneously, former X leadership had clashed with India’s government over requests to take down posts that company leaders had considered attempts at censorship.
Much of this luck changed when Musk purchased X, an important platform for political discussion in India. Since he’s taken the lead, posts about a 2023 BBC documentary that explores Modi’s role in the 2002 Hindu-Muslim riots in Gujarat, where he was a minister at the time, have been blocked by the platform. The huge tax that prevented imports of foreign electric vehicles (EVs) has also been modified. The tariff, which used to be 100%, now stands at 15%, particularly for EVs that retail for more than $35,000. Tesla’s Model 3 cars sell for $38,990.

Italian friendship
The Atlantic Council is awarding Meloni for being “instrumental in ensuring much-needed European aid to Ukraine” and for emerging “as a powerful interlocutor across Europe and the world stage.”
Musk attended a political festival last December hosted by the Brothers of Italy Party, which Meloni belongs to. He expressed concerns about the decline in Italy’s population, a worry that Meloni has also discussed.
The two have a closed-door meeting scheduled later this month to discuss investments in Italy’s space and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SECTORS.
Italy recently expanded foreign investment opportunities into its space sector and expects to generate $8.1bln of investment by 2026. Space Exploration Technologies Corp., headed by Musk, already provides broadband internet access in Italy through Starlink.
Starlink had complained earlier this year that Italy’s largest telecom provider was obstructing the rollout of its internet services.
Preferential investments
Musk’s investments may be a welcome stimulus to struggling and emerging economies. It also gives countries the opportunity to participate in high-tech sectors that they may not have had access to. At the same time, Musk’s inflammatory speech on the “woke mind virus” and his downplaying of hate groups often comes as part of the package.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. In his Gospel, John tells us that those who believe in Christ are not condemned, but THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE ARE CONDEMNED ALREADY: “BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED IN THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD.”
‘The SECOND DEATH’ which is mentioned in this verse, is RESERVED FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS NOT TRUSTED IN CHRIST FOR THEIR SALVATION. We discover that ‘THE LAKE OF FIRE’ which God originally prepared for Satan and the angels that rebelled against Him, is called ‘THE SECOND DEATH’.
ALL THOSE WHO REJECT GOD’S OFFER OF SALVATION, WILL HAVE TO FACE ‘THE SECOND DEATH’ AND TAKE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE THAT BURNS WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE. In the Bible, death equates to separation. Physical death is spiritual separation from God, for man is born dead in their sin. Eternal death means eternal separation from God, spirit, soul, and body. But praise God that man can be redeemed by faith. Man can be born again of the Spirit, and not take part in ‘The Second Death’.
The Amplified Bible labels the unbelievers in this verse as: “Cowards and the ignoble; the contemptible and those that cravenly lack courage. They are the unbelieving, the faithless, the depraved, and those defiled with abominations. They include murderers and the lewd, adulterers and those that practise magic arts and all idolaters.” THEY INCLUDE THOSE WHO GIVE SUPREME DEVOTION TO ANYONE OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN GOD. IT ALSO TELLS US THAT LIARS AND THOSE WHO KNOWINGLY CONVEY UNTRUTHS BY WORD OR DEED, WILL PARTICIPATE IN ‘THE SECOND DEATH’. IN SHORT, EVERYONE WHO HAS NOT BELIEVED GOD’S WORD AND TRUSTED IN HIS MESSIAH FOR THEIR SALVATION, WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE LAKE THAT BURNS WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, WHICH REVELATION CALLS ‘THE SECOND DEATH’.
The fact of a ‘Second Death’ implies that there is a ‘First Death’, but these conditions more correctly are linked with the ‘Resurrection’ of the dead. We read: “An hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs (both the saved and the unsaved) will hear His voice. They will be resurrected from their tombs and come forth from the grave.” It goes on to say: “Those who did good deeds (by believing on the Word of God) will come out of their graves to a Resurrection of LIFE, while;
THOSE WHO COMMITTED EVIL DEEDS (BY NOT BELIEVING ON THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD) WILL COME OUT OF THEIR GRAVES TO A RESURRECTION OF JUDGMENT OR DAMNATION.” THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE DISTURBINGLY CALLS ‘THE SECOND DEATH’.
Being part of ‘The First Resurrection’ is the privilege of everyone who has been saved by grace through faith in God’s trustworthy Word. Every believer, from both Old and New Testaments and up to the present day, who have died in faith by believing God’s Word, are reckoned as righteous and will participate in ‘The First Resurrection’. They will not be hurt by ‘The Second Death’.
Believers will be resurrected at several different times e.g. The Church at the Rapture, before the Tribulation Period; Old Testament and Tribulation saints at the Second Coming, at the end of the Tribulation Period; Millennial saints at the end of the Millennium. Although the timing of the resurrections will differ, all these believers will take part in ‘The First Resurrection’.
THE ‘SECOND RESURRECTION’ IS RESERVED FOR THOSE WHO HAVE WILFULLY REJECTED GOD’S WORD AND REFUSED HIS OFFER OF SALVATION. THEY WILL BE RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD AND JUDGED AT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT OF GOD, AT THE END OF THE MILLENNIUM PERIOD – AND THEY WILL BE FOUND WANTING.
GREAT WHITE THRONE AND ETERNAL JUDGEMENT
THIS SORRY GROUP OF UNSAVED MEN AND WOMEN WILL CONSIST OF: “THE COWARDLY AND UNBELIEVING AND ABOMINABLE AND MURDERERS AND IMMORAL PERSONS AND SORCERERS AND IDOLATERS AND ALL LIARS, AND THEIR PART WILL BE IN THE LAKE THAT BURNS WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.”
This is not a subject that should be swept under the Church carpet, as so often happens in Christendom today, but is a serious subject that should be faced, and UNBELIEVERS SHOULD BE CHALLENGED SO THAT THEY MAY HEAR THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF GRACE AND BELIEVE THE MESSAGE OF REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST, AND BE SAVED.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many warnings we receive of the importance of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. Thank You that by grace through faith in Christ, I will not be hurt by ‘The Second Death’. Thank You that You will judge the world in righteousness. In Your wrath and judgement, I pray that You would be merciful, and during these days when salvation is still available to anyone who trusts in Jesus, I ASK THAT MANY UNBELIEVERS WOULD HEAR THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL, BE SAVED AND ESCAPE FROM THE WRATH TO COME. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

The formula is simple: if you reject the Son, you will receive the wrath.
