HOW WOULD THE US AND WORLD REACT IF THERE WERE STRONG SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE SUGGESTING THAT YELLOWSTONE WAS GOING TO BLOW IN 3 WEEKS TIME?
The US, and possibly Canada (depending on how big the eruption looked like it was going to be) would likely try to evacuate everyone living within the blast radius.

I imagine that additional mandatory evacuations outside of the Kill Zone would be completely unfeasible. Many people within the primary Ash Zone would likely voluntarily evacuate however. Food prices around the world would rise as governments started hoarding food. A Yellowstone Eruption would cause serious crop failures in the US and Canada, which are both major food exporters that billions of people rely on. The rest of the Northern Hemisphere would also likely suffer crop failures due to a mini Ice Age, but it won’t be as bad as the crop failures in North America. Farming would grow in Eastern Europe and Australia, but it wouldn’t grow fast enough to make up for the loss of US and Canadian crop outputs.
I imagine that the President would declare a national State of Emergency, and that the Canadian government would do the same. The ash fall would be a major problem in both countries, according to most predictions (figure from Mastin, Eaton & Lowenstein (2014)): Any time of year it would be bad; in October it would be better for the Western US, and in January it would be better for the Eastern US, but in both situations, both sides of the country will experience some ash fall. July would be the worst time it could erupt for Canada.
This would be much worse than snowfall. In many areas it would not be safe to go outside without a respirator or gas mask because ashes can turn into cement in the lungs. Ashes also weigh a lot, so you can expect lots of buildings in both countries to collapse. If there wasn’t a national state of emergency, then I expect at least Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Wisconsin will have them in place; probably Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba will on Canada’s side.
In the long run, I think Australia and Brazil would profit immensely as their crop output would be much less affected than the crop output in the Northern Hemisphere. Countries which already have food scarcity, especially India and countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, would face famines. Slowly many developing countries would rebuild their farming industries and reverse the trend where a select few countries (the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Russia) supply most of the world’s food.
