Revelation 13:16-17 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
5G + Biometric Facial/Hand Scanning + Digital/Cashless Transactions + Mark of Approval/Authorization = Tomorrow’s Economy
Biometric scanning used for migrant/border control, secure identity verification and approval, government benefits, domestic and international travel security, economic inclusion of everyone, buying/selling transactions and fund transfers, instantaneous speed of transaction and convenience, VAT/taxation collection, mobility, social credit score and ranking, population movement and tracking, monitoring political and religious ‘extremism’ (terrorists). ‘Mark, number or name’ for verification and approval.
End Times Effort behind the ‘Mark, Number or Name.’ Coronavirus is lighting a fire under the development of ‘ID2020.’
Dear Friends, Partners, and Colleagues:
As the world struggles to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ID2020 team and I wanted to take a moment to reach out and wish you, your families, and colleagues our best wishes during this scary and unprecedented moment in time.
We know that COVID-19 is affecting every aspect of daily life and that, for many, the physical, mental, and economic impacts will last for quite some time. Hopefully, this will be one of those rare moments when we come together (figuratively, of course) to be the best version of ourselves, both individually and as a global community.
In the midst of this uncertainty, our work must continue. If anything, this crisis underscores the importance of user-management, privacy-protected, portable, and interoperable forms of digital ID. Technology (and specifically digital ID) can provide valuable tools for public health workers, allowing them to coordinate and target pandemic response, spot trends, and provide advanced warning to vulnerable populations. But we stand firm in our conviction that, even during times of crisis, individual data and privacy must be protected.
I wanted to provide a brief update on how COVID-19 is affecting our current work and plans for the future:
Certification Mark
Work on the Certification Mark continues unabated. Last week, we announced the first two ID2020 certified solutions, Kiva Protocol and Gravity.Earth. Fortunately, our team is accustomed to working remotely, so we will continue to process new applications for the Certification Mark in the coming months.
Programs
We recognize that COVID-19 may require shifts in strategy for our program partners, given unforeseen impacts and necessary reprioritization. While we believe it vital to press forward with programs that support good digital ID and to use this moment to invest, proactively, in resilience against future threats, we will work with our grantees and partners to adapt plans as necessary.
ID2020 Summit
At the moment, we are still planning to host the annual ID2020 Summit on September 18th in New York City. Recognizing that all travel plans are up-in-the-air at the moment, we’d love for each of you to save this date. We sincerely hope that by September we will all be able to come together to celebrate not only our shared work on good ID but also the end of this global crisis.
Budgeting
We are reviewing our budget for the next 18 months to identify operational efficiencies and other opportunities that will allow us to achieve our milestones. Our goal is to ensure that we have the maximum runway possible should COVID-19 affect our partnership development and fundraising plans.
Nonetheless, we know that reaching our milestones this year will require expanding our team. We are continuing to hire for a number of key positions – most critically, a Managing Director for Advisory and a Certification Mark Manager. If you know of any potential candidates, please put them in touch.
Finally, we know that some of you (or your organizations) are engaged directly in the pandemic response. If I, or any member of the ID2020 staff, can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to call on us.
In the meantime, please take good care.
