Blog note. Jesus indicated
that ‘fearful sights’ (various natural disasters) would occur leading up to the
time known as the Tribulation and Great Tribulation (a combined seven year
period of great destruction on earth). Although these types of things have
occurred in the past for centuries and thousands of years, they could be
identified as the ‘season of the times’ due to the ferociousness of these
events. They would be occurring in greater intensity, severity, frequency,
size, duration, scope … just like the pains that a woman experiences in labor
the farther along she is in the labor process. We are in the ‘season of the times’
that comes just before the seven (7) year Tribulation/Great Tribulation period
… And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and
famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be
from heaven. (Luke 21:11).
… And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and
in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea
and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25)
… Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after
those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be
shaken; (Luke 21:26)
… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall
come. (2 Timothy 3:1)
Jesus is giving a series of prophecies about what to look for
as the age of grace comes to a close. These verses are several of many such
prophecies from throughout the Bible. 2017 was the worst year in recorded
history for the intensity, frequency, severity, duration and occurrence of a
large number of severe natural disasters worldwide. Earthquakes, volcanoes,
hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, torrential flooding, unprecedented wildfires in
unusual places, devastating droughts, excessive/scorching heat setting records
everywhere, record snowfalls in Europe and Russia. Snow in the Arabia. This
list can go on. Most studied Eschatologists believe these ‘fearful sights’ and
massive natural disasters are all part of the ‘CONVERGENCE’ of signs that this
Biblical and prophetic age is closing. Most people who study prophecy are
familiar with the routine reference(s) made that these things will be like
a woman having labor pains, growing in intensity, frequency, size and duration.
FIRES RAGE ACROSS ISRAEL DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER, RESIDENTS EVACUATED
Two men were reported to have suffered light injuries due to inhaling smoke near Haifa, and were treated by MDA forces at the scene.
BY JERUSALEM POST STAFF JULY 17, 2019
Fires raged across Israel on
Wednesday due to extreme weather conditions as Police forces evacuated
residents from over 120 households throughout the country, 15 of which caught
fire.
A fire broke out mid-afternoon in a Jerusalem parking lot in the Malha
neighborhood, setting approximately 10 cars aflame. Within 45 minutes, the Fire
and Rescue Department got the fire under control, preventing it from spreading
to the nearby vegetation and buildings. The Aderet and Roglit settlements close
to Jerusalem and the Shavei Shomron settlement in the West Bank were all
evacuated due to fires that reached the first line of houses. In all settlements,
the flames were subdued and taken control of.
Five houses caught on fire at the
Ramat Pinkas neighborhood in Or Yehuda close to Tel Aviv. Police forces
attempted to evacuate neighborhood residents while the Fire and Rescue forces
gained control of the flames. They rescued several residents, who were treated
for mild wounds on the spot.
A massive fire broke out in Haifa near
the Technion University, forcing Police to close Route 2 temporarily and for
the security forces within the university to send an evacuation notice to
students within the campus. Two men suffered light injuries due to inhaling
smoke in the region and were treated by MDA personnel on the scene.
Other locations affected by the fires
were the Tomer settlement in the Jordan valley, the Negev, the Adam facility in
the Neot Kdumim settlement, Shoham, and Wadi Ara.
Residents of an insitution for people with disabilities in Moshav Roglit were evacuated to the Shalva Center in Jerusalem, a Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs emergency center for the absorption of people with disabilities in times of emergency and crisis. The center is preparing for the long-term absorption of the residents.
The fires come as a result of a heat
wave blazing throughout most of the country. The high temperatures reached
their peaks mid-day, as cities such as Beersheba were hit with 42°C. Weather conditions began to improve
around 5 PM, which is when the Fire and Rescue Department were able to gain
control over most of the flames throughout the country.
MDA reported that over 120 residents
were treated as of yet for heat stroke, dehydration, fainting and exhaustion in
the massive heat wave that hit the country. Seven of those injured were treated
for mild injuries due to smoke inhalation and one eight-year-old was evacuated
to the hospital in serious condition due to heat stroke.
In his security meetings throughout the day, Internal Security Minister Gilad
Erdan said that security forces must be reinforced in areas of higher risk,
emphasizing that the Arab population must be warned, as well, about the dangers
near the Um al-Fahm and Barta’a communities.
Electricity consumption reached an
all-time high during the day with a record-breaking 13,521 megawatts used
throughout the country, according to a report by the Israeli Electric Company.
Meanwhile, Eilat experienced unseasonal light rainfall in stark contrast to
the rest of the country.
